Good Morning. It's Tuesday 12th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Could Perkins be off to Lincoln in New Year Leeds are set to recall Sonny Perkins from his loan hell at Oxford Utd, after falling out of favour at at the Kassam Stadium. He was hoping to get his Elland Road career back on track by the lure of first team football elsewhere, but it has not worked out that way. In almost four months, the former West Ham prodigy has amassed less than five minutes of game time. It is hoped that a new club and different surroundings, may give Perkins the impetus he needs to kick-start his season. He is highly thought of by the coaches at Thorp Arch, present and past. This prompts the question whether fellow League One play off hopefuls Lincoln City may be interested in his services? Michael Skubala knows the 19yo better than most, and as such could get the best out of him!!! please log in to view this image Farke not happy to let Cresswell leave on loan A host of fringe players are expected to depart in the New Year, with Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Cresswell topping many clubs Christmas wish list. Following relegation from the top flight, the duo were expected to be a major part of the Leeds Utd revival. They both enjoyed considerable success from their respective loan spells at Millwall and Sunderland (even though Joffy was played out of position), but have largely gone unnoticed since Daniel Farke took charge during the Summer. The German has made it clear that he doesn't want Cresswell to leave on loan in January, especially not for a promotion rival (Saints). However, players (and their agents) have far more influence than they used to! We've seen in the past, the likes of Cody Drameh getting his own way after demanding a move to Cardiff a few seasons back. please log in to view this image Does Thorp Arch need a revamp Leeds have invested heavily, not just in young talent such as Darko Gyabi, Sonny Perkins and Lewis Bate (to name but a few) but in their training facilities. They were awarded Category One Academy status in the Summer of 2020, becoming one of only 27 clubs in the Country to win this accolade. Whilst the journey from development to first team regular is long and arduous, with many falling by the wayside, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray have shown what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. During a recent interview, Leeds goalkeeping coach Ed Wooton intimated that there is room for improvement with the facilities at Thorp Arch, and whilst they are 'sufficient', they would like to move to the next level. "A lot of clubs now invest heavily into the training ground. It's where you spend the majority of your time so clubs nowadays, you look up and down the Country and everyone is really heavily investing into the training ground setup as Leeds have here. "We're going to try to move it on here again to try and lift it towards those even higher levels if we can possibly do that. The training ground here is sufficient, the pitches are excellent so it's been very good." please log in to view this image
Morning all Happy that Farke is putting his foot down regarding loans, players and their agents have already been shown that Farke isn't a man to mess about when he says no (Gnonto)
Regarding the training ground there's nothing to worry about as Radz had it all in hand to move a new site close to ER. Just needs the 49ers to stump up the cash now. Morning all and a very Happy Birthday to Marcos
Morning all. Nice surprise this morning. Had forgotten tonights game till a reminder popped up on phone. Some memory
The loan situation will become clearer in January, but Phil Hay at the weekend told everyone that there would be no incomings. Today he is say what most of us on here have been saying and a new LB will be coming in. So the people who write this stuff can change their stories within hours. On Cresswell I suggested that maybe Phil Hay speak to Hayden Evan’s who is Charlie’s agent and get some facts. I hear that Cresswell is angry and he sees his fellow England U21 CBs playing first team football and one of them in the Prem starting every game. I also think Joffy ain’t loving life at Leeds, but on Joffy it’s just my view. On TA remember we spent £300k on getting Bielsa a replica pitch to the one we built at ER
Did I blink and miss the successful bit of joffy’s loan spell at Sunderland? To be fair to the lad he was asked to play a lone striking role that didn’t suit him - but either way it wasn’t a roaring success.
Perkins not even on the bench again we should just send a car for him and give Oxford a bill for wasting our time
What does suit him though? League one as I don’t think he’s good enough. If you’re good enough you’ll stand out, see Archie a CM playing RB.
