Good Morning. Its Tuesday 10th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Hay denies Cunha rumours Leeds journalist Phil Hay has vehemently denied that Brazilian ace Matheus Cunha is on his way to Elland Road. The 22 was instrumental recently in guiding the South Americans to Olympic Gold, scoring the opening goal, and winning his side a penalty against Spain in the final. He currently applies his trade with Herta Berlin, joining from fellow Bundesliga outfit Leipzig last year for just under 12m. Should Messrs Orta and Bielsa wish to bring Cunha to Elland Road, the German outfit are demanding just over double what they paid for him! Unfortunately for Leeds fans, the former Chief Football writer for the YEP took to Twitter to say:- Do Leeds need a plan B up front? Brighton have already had a 5m offer turned down for the 28yo whilst it is reported that West Ham are lining up a bid! Do Leeds need another central defender? They already have Cooper, Llorente, Koch and Struijk. Lets not forget about Cresswell. He may only be 18, but like Struijk is improving game by game! please log in to view this image TalkSPORT pundit tips Leeds for European success Veteran football pundit and TalkSPORT host Jim White believes Leeds will continue to defy the critics, and has tipped them for a top seven finish, and securing a European slot for the following season. Leeds finished 9th last season on 59 points, ahead of Everton and Aston Villa. If they want to go a stage further, they will need to leapfrog the likes of Arsenal and Spurs, who achieved 8th and 7th place respectively, two and three points ahead of the Whites! Morning all I see Kinnear has said we are days away from some big announcements in regards to contract extensions. One is Bielsa the others are thought to be new contracts for Philips and Bamford. I just hope Philips doesn’t have some silly minimum release fee like Grealish had inserted.
Morning all, Another day another link with a central defender we don't need, . Normally can't stand anything that gobshite White says but he isn't that far off this time. We are still better than the teams that finished below us last season and for those that finished above us I can see Spurs having a poor season and West ham I think was a one off season and they will be back to the bottom half this year.
from that same interview with Kinnear he basically said we are done in the transfer market From that same interview from Kinnear it seems we are done in the transfer market too. Kinnear was pretty upfront on everything the exciting news ahead was Bielsa will sign on a day or 2 before the Scum game and we are doing some contract extensions other than that they are happy with the squad.
Morning all Omar Colly is as likely as Traore so no chance, just lazy journos again. Contract extensions are Bielsa and Bamford amd maybe some of the kids who are now into the last year of their contracts. Kinnear said no need to do anything on Phillips as it was done recently and Kalvin has 3 years left and knows he is important. What do we do if Bamford is hurt, well how about we have Gelhardt, Roberts or Rodrigo and how about we dont use a CF and do a false 9 like Bielsa and Pep have spoken about and what Pep has used for 2 seasons. No panic
£675k per week after tax which means OSG are going to need to sell 10 players so they dont fall foul of football financial fair play rules. Hopefully Orta and Bielsa see a player at knock down price ??
What !!!!!!! Surely not the editor of SPORT BILD newspaper in Germany, Albert Draxler, he would be a great addition to our media team
Morning all Interesting fact for the day - Bielsa is only a couple of months away from being our longest serving manager since O'Leary! Anyway, that isn't why I am here, I have very exciting news. Checked in with the tea leaves this morning as I always do every pre-season and was shocked. Bamford is going to win the Golden Boot this year, it is a top 6 finish for us and, by the end of the year, Rodrigo is departing because Gelhardt has taken his place and is being raved about. Trust the leaves chaps
It is madness not buying Cunha! Paying 25m for a striker that good is great business for the future. His price tag is just going to rise and rise! In a couple of years , his worth could easily double!
