Good Morning. It's Tuesday 6th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Is Raphinha the last piece of the jigsaw There was late drama at Elland Road last night as the Leeds Utd hierarchy were trying to rush through a work permit for Brazilian winger Raphunha before the transfer will slammed shut at 11pm. Fortunately for all concerned could give a big sigh of relief once it was realised that Raphinha has a Italian passport, and is therefore an EU citizen, With just thirty minutes left on the clock, came the news everyone was waiting to hear - Raphunha had signed a four year deal with the Whites for 17m. The exciting winger, who will wear the number 18 shirt will provide real competition for the likes of Harrison, Costa and Poveda. Not only does the Brazilian have the pace ans skill to upset many top flight defenders, but will track back and has shown a real flair for tackling, something missing, especially from Costa. Who will make place for Paphunha, and is this player now surplus to requirements? Leeds have until the 17th October to raid any EFL clubs, with Norwich duo Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia both being strongly linked! please log in to view this image Jilted Cuisance joins Marseille Midfielder Michael Cuisance has joined Marseille from German Champions Bayern Munich on a season long long, with an option to buy! The 21-year-old came very close to becoming Leeds second most expensive purchase, but failed his medical at the 11th hour. Instead, Bayern rubbished the medical report, and the French Youth International will feature for André Villas-Boas's Marseilles. Cuisance's versatility and fitness would have certainly boosted Leeds midfield, and taken some pressure off Klich. Should Leeds have negotiated a similar loan to buy deal once the injury came to light? The news comes after Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Orta tops a shortlist of three for the position at Roma, with Lille's Luis Campos and former RB Leipzig head coach Ralf Rangnick also being considered. Kinnear does not intend to let Orta go anywhere - and even joked about Orta's excitable antics against Derby at the back end of last season!!! "Victor’s been a massive part of everything in the Championship and the squad he’s building in the Premier League," "So, there is interest from other clubs in Victor - it doesn’t surprise us - but we’re not letting him go anywhere. If they saw his behaviour in the director’s box, they wouldn’t want him either.” please log in to view this image
Morning all... I wouldn’t be surprised if we go back in for Benrhama. I can’t help feel Bielsa is unhappy with something he has seen in Costa or Poveda. Does his arrival mean it’s the end for Alioski? Nice problems to have..
After doing extensive research all night including YouTube and wikipedia I have come to the highly informed opinion that we have signed a replica of Helder Costa in Raphinha. I am also of the opinion that the #10 position currently shared by Roberts/Rodrigo/Hernandez is our weakest point and we could do with Cantwell coming in.
The club announced him on the official website last night as the Brazilian Winger... that says to me we are still looking for a 10/8 player as the club said they wanted a winger and a middy. De Paul would have been both but for some reason I think Harry Wilson will get the nod, but lots of talk about Cantwell and Benrhama? A great window for us and suspect our new Pablo sub will come shortly as I dont think we can afford to wait for January and in January we need to spend time getting the new guy up to speed and the season could be over before then. We should do it now asap
Morning all, After that transfer window anyone who thinks we are just in this league to avoid relegation are just pessimistic for the sake of it. We have a squad capable of competing at the top half of the league. I cannot wait for the international break to be over. Wolves and Leicester coming up. Get results from them and we are well in the mix.
Good morning everyone Christ to think the most i was aiming for this season was a top half finish, now it looks like european footy next season could be on. From what i have seen so far from the other PL teams we have nothing to fear, and can compete against anyone, the confidence will just grow as the season progresses, so a top five finish is certainly on, we said last year in the championship anyone can beat anyone, and so it seems that applies to the PL this season. Am i now getting ahead of myself with the expectations ? I blame Bielsa & our super management team for me now being on a constant footballing high. Who would have thought we would be in this positions as recently as only a few seasons ago, it's just bloody incredible It's just a crying shame, the fans can't witness this first hand.
Can we still sign players from other Premier League clubs? I was under the impression last night that only deals to or from the EFL would be allowed.
Real Madrid,Bayern I really am starting to think who cares, this club fears no one. Ridiculous isn't it--------------------------------isn't it
Just about to bring up that same point. It seems we can only sign from lower (ahem) leagues. But could we loan anyone after the 16th how does it work doc?.
Yeah just checked trading between Prem clubs is now closed but we can still trade with EFL clubs until 16th but no more loans between Prem clubs so hope Bielsa and Orta have a plan for the middy we need
Why is Roberts/Rodrigo/Hernandez our weakest point ? Rodrigo was imo our best player v City, with Hernandez and Roberts for back up, I don't see it as a weak spot.
