Good Morning. It's Tuesday 3rd September, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Rangers win the race to sign Kent Liverpool have accepted an offer of around £7m from Rangers for Ryan Kent. As we know, the talented 22yo winger has been a long timer target of Bielsa. Are Leeds missing out on a bargain? Would Kent displace any of the first teamers? please log in to view this image Thorp Arch academy boost Leeds United have had more players called up for England duty than two-thirds of the Premier League. Morning all.. When I heard yesterday that LDB had joined Sunderland on loan I was more than a little surprised as to why they would want him. In Ryan Kent the £7m fee was way below the £10m being quoted when we were looking at him, Harrison is playing well, Bielsa loves him, Costa and Eddie haven’t yet forced there way into the starting 11 I’m happy we didn’t move for him. I just hope we’re top two come January 1st and I hope if Bielsa has requested a player to help the new year push that the donkey work for him has been put in early and that he joins on week one. Save our money for January, we’ve a good squad at the moment
Morning all I like Kent, but I'm happy with our wingers at long last. Good luck to him Sunderland are in for a De Bock shock
Now I know, I never know what date it is,but really what excuse do young'uns have, Tuesday 2nd September ???
Good Morning to Matt and co rom a cold Bardsey I am pleased se didn't sign Kent its alright playing poor teams in Scotland but the EFL is different and he was very poor at Bristol City of course he scored for Barnsley against us I see Jason Cummings another supposed Scottish star has moved from Forest to ShrewsburyHe looked really good until he came south and then the wheels fell off
Given Rangers current financial situation, and the millions they are no doubt due to pay Mike Ashley after losing the court case, Kent will soon be available for 50p in their inevitable fire sale. Liverpool are going to have to wait a long time for their money imo.
Victimpool - Gerrard, nah WJ, there will be a bin dipping deal done somehow which the corrupt FA will turn a blind eye to, or they are too busy sorting a sh 1 t ref out for the next game for use.
You're right...was thinking of posting a thought provoking thread just to get things moving but after some reflection decided not to bother. It's time consuming to write something interesting and when you realise only a few people will bother to respond you rather lose the impetus. Not blaming anyone, it's just how it is these days on here. The thread title was going to be...Plastic or glory supporter, you decide but you're definitely one of them. I'm a glory supporter but at least I was brought up in Leeds, went to school in Leeds and bleed Leeds till I die. That's not to disrespect anyone who didn't but it just feels right and always has done. Maybe when you're from somewhere else and you feel like you've made the right decision it's kind of life affirming and possibly better in some way ?
Don’t know about life affirming Jammy, but when you realise that you’re not going to defect or stop supporting Leeds come hell or high water, even though it’s not your native city, like it or not it helps inform your self-view to a degree. Pretentious, moi? I expect there are positives for remote fans that locals experience less, for example the buzz you get in Belfast or Glasgow when you meet a stranger who turns out to be a Leeds fan is likely to be greater because there are fewer of them about. Being a plastic or glory supporter might be said to suggest parallels to being a plastic or glory poster. Do we do it for the plaudits or because it’s a means for us to establish and maintain links however tenuous to the motherlode? Wtf does that even mean, and does anyone give a s***? Anyway, hope I’ve provoked some thought too...
Well thank you Jammy/Davy for that thought provoking insight into our Psyche. With me i'm just pissed off,as that result ruined my weekend, and i just don't feel like writing atm, so i think Leedsoflondon was spot on when he said, Two weeks to stew on that result Bloody football
How about you're on a Leeds United charter plane to Madrid and you meet someone with exactly the same name/surname as you and who supports both Leeds & Partick Thistle? The former would be rare enough, the latter very rare, but the two combined????
