Good Morning Everyone Manchester City have slapped a 20m price tag on 22yo Jack Harrison! According to The Sun, Leeds are desperate for the winger to join on a permanent basis! Thoughts? Norwich City have joined the list of Premiership clubs wanting to lure Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips away from Elland Road. Norwich have somewhat of a reputation for stealing talent away from Elland Road on the cheap with the likes of Howson, Johnson, Snodgrass and Becchio all leaving Elland Road on the cheap! Southampton and Bournemouth are the other clubs tracking the 23yo defensive midfielder. According to the press Leeds are set to revive their interest in Bristol City contract rebel Callum O’Dowda. The left winger is valued at 10m, even though he only has a season left on his contract, and is unwilling to extend it. Leeds made an approach in January but were knocked back.
Morning all. Anyone above 5m won’t be signed. Always expected Norwich or Blunts to come in for Philips as they’ll be most aware Of His ability. Expect More of the we’ll pay 1m now and Millions more if promoted type of deals which greatly limits who we can sign
Morning all Odowda seems to be a thing as mentioned on the tranny sticky, but asking and doing are different things. Harrison is the most talented winger we have had for years but he was more like Aidy White than Sterling. Yes he has talent and in a few games he showed what he can do, but mostly he didnt and he only scored 4 when it was simpler to score 10 as he missed some sitters, hitting the bar and post a bit. Would be a big gamble and no way is he worth £20m. Ask yourself would you prefer Odowda who scored double what Harrison scored and Odowda also created well into double figures assists many more than Harrison? Odowda has hardly played since january due to a falling out with the manager. James another valued at half Harrisons price. I reckon Bielsa likes him but he only played so many games because we had problems with injuries. Yes he could do the biz in his 2nd season but not at that money and besides I have an idea he will be joining Kompany at Anderlecht who will quickly become a feeder club to City and a place to blood their kids. Not even thinking about selling players like Phillips and even Pontus brother has said he aint leaving.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey O.Dowda has only one year left on his contract so £5m will get him as we look out of the race for James Harrison is not worth £2m so let him go back Any news on Gayle Doc
Morning all if we sell our best players then im giving up. As for harrison he is league one standard at best. We need a decent winger and odowda seems to be an upgrade so why not. Why do we always sell our players on the cheap. But teams such as brizzle and brentford hold out for more money. If no players are bought or loaned before the end of june then start to worry.
selling on the cheap comes partly due to the fact that for years every club has known we were skint and in no position to hold out for best price.
Hi Mike Gayle is marmite in the dressing room and wants a huge wage. Im sure if he was a freeby Bielsa would take him even on £50kpw. However Newcastle want a big fee just to loan him never mind sell him. Newcastle wanted him out, WBA want him out? S he a team player?
Though our most consistent period of winning and defending came with Douglas - Alioski on the left in the first half of the season.
Not sure WBA do want him out though Doc, it's just economics, they have lost £6.7 million parachute payments this season and need to make cut backs. TBF not many good strikers are good team players they are greedy and obsessed with goals, that's why they are good strikers. Wood, Becchio, and Beckford didn't do much other than score.
Remember thinking when the club let him go, we won't go up if we don't replace with a similar player, we didn't and didn't
Saiz,of course,Christ i had forgotten about him, must be my age ,but seriously though,Douglas huge disappointment to me,as all i can remember about him is poor crossing (along with others) & constantly losing the ball.
We have all given our opinions on what went wrong,i agree as most of us do,that poor transfer windows ultimately cost us,no suitable back ups when key players were injured.I thaught at the end one of the biggest misses was Alioski,he might not be the brightest button on the coat, but his shear drive & determination filtered down to others, which to me showed in some of the later games.
No way we're paying anything close to that for Harrison - if that is what they're thinking then we might get another years loan - always hard to judge players on their first year in the championship - Harrison has shown flashes of brilliance and large periods of adequacy but if Bielsa thinks that he'll improve then would be happy to take the loan gamble. Norwich can **** off they can't afford Phillips - he's the one out of the Roofe-Pontus that I really don't want to go. (not that I want them to go either)
