Good Morning Everyone Representatives of all 24 Championship teams, led by Leeds, Derby and Aston Villa will gather at Villa Park today to discuss their next move after seeing objections to Sky’s new contract rejected by the EFL’s board. The rebel clubs are hoping to persuade the EFL to change their plans from a five-year new contract with Sky to a one-year extension to the current contract. Fortunately Jansson's ankle injury that he picked up at the Hawthorns is not as serious as first thought. It's doubtful whether he'll be fit to face Bristol City at the weekend but should be available for the visit of Reading. This means that Cooper is our only recognised centre back! James Collins and Robert Huth are both still free agents - thoughts anyone? Is anyone wondering why Blackman wasn't given more of a chance to showcase his talent in pre season? Blackman was out of condition (compared to the Leeds players) when he joined in July! Three weeks into a pre-season programme saw virtually all of their players shed weight and body fat as Bielsa pushed them en masse to a higher level of fitness. Blackman missed a number of friendlies as United worked to get him into the same shape and by the time the Championship season started, Bielsa had set his mind on starting Peacock-Farrell. I wonder what Bielsa would have made of Paddy Kenny.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a very wet Bardsey With the money we are saving on Blackman perhaps it would be a good idea to sign a non contracted CB especially if Pontus is not fit but which one and how fit are they as you point out Collins Chaulker and Huth are available I think B ielsa will stick to his young guns though
Evening all, I agree 60, I think he will stick with youth, Conor Shaughnessy?, if Pontus isn't ready for Saturday. Huffer or Miazek as reserve Goalkeeper? Paddy Kenny was a goalkeeper once
I thought Shaunessey was brilliant when we played Fulham last season at ER unfortunately he has been injured a lot Doc may provide with an updateI still think that Pontus will play on Sat
Morning all. Looking forward to getting going again after the international break. Thought this Halme youngster was supposed to be the hot prospect.
Why I'm I not surprised that Jansson is unavailable for the visit of Bristol City ? We've been playing a dangerous game all season Radz/Orta & Bielsa need to take a long look at their philosophy of working on such limited resources. The Championship is an unforgiving league, not a tinpot Scottish/Norwegian/Dutch/etc type of league Without Jansson, Ayling or Berardi our likely line-up of Dallas Cooper Phillips ????? Douglas does not inspire me. How many more points are we gonna chuck away because of our tight-arse management ?
If only we'd had shown just little more ambition & common-sense with the numbers in our squad during the summer we could have walked this league if Bielsa had enough workable tools in his toolbox. As is the usual case with Leeds United our huge fan base invest their hard-earned monies into our beloved club & we make do putting square pegs in round holes. Is it any wonder why we amble around in the championship year after year
Morning all If Pontus is injured officially Nessy is a first team squad player, but unofficially Bielsa is peed off with him as he isn't doing the biz or progressing as he should. Last 2 U23 games have been lost and we tanked badly and it seems Nessy is taking flak and to be fair I dont think I have ever seen him have a decent game. Goalkeeper on the bench will be Kamel Miazek and not Huffer as he is understudy to Miazek? Look out for Aapo Halme or Hugo Diaz or Pascal Struijk or a couple of them making the squad. Halme is the prodigy but Diaz is also getting rave reviews either at Cb or LB/RB and also watch out for Robbie Gotts who could make the team as RB
Graeme Jones the WBA Assistant Manager was on TalkSport this morning. He mentioned how he attended one of Bielsa's tactics seminars over in France a couple of years ago. Basically this helped him to work out the WBA tactics to play against us the other week.
Eric Now's your chance to really get behind Leeds. Leeds United to play Manchester United in pre season "friendly" in Perth 17th July or is it the 19th not sure. That's Perth Australia by the way.
"It reported Manchester would play local side Perth Glory on July 13 and Leeds on July 17. Leeds would then go on to play the Western Sydney Wanderers at the new Western Sydney Stadium in Parramatta on July 21"
Chance to fill your boots then, why don't you have a meet up with BrIssie, chance to improve his edification on things football
Also said we were the best team he has seen this season and this is the first time they've played the tactics they did, specifically for us.
