Good Morning Everyone Neil Harris has reopened the can of worms that is starting to overshadow the 1-1 draw at the New Den last weekend. The Millwall Manager appeared to draw a line under the incident where Diego Flores, Diego Reyes, Pablo Quiroga, Carlos Corberan and French fitness coach Benoit Delaval showed their adulation for Harrison's equalizer, but during an interview on Monday Harris said: “Their reaction to the goal is completely over the top and a disgrace in English football.” Bielsa had already played peacemaker by apologising for losing his cool when the Millwall bench were slow to give the ball back for a Leeds throw in moments before Harrison scorerd. “I get involved in disputes only when I think that exchanging arguments with the opponent increases the understanding of the public,” Bielsa said. “I have an idea of what we should make public and what we shouldn’t. “I also (know) that I’m a foreigner and I’m welcome and received by the football of a country which is not mine. These points are enough for me to avoid making any response. “Everything that happened at the end of the game is clear enough so there is no necessity to explain it. When you act like a savage, you will always be criticised. But when the river has too much water in it, you don’t only draw the conclusion that the river has too much water. You need to think why the river has too much. What are the causes? “To be accused as a savage, when you are accused of not behaving well, you have to take into account the causes, the reasons that made you not behave well.” Conor Shaughnessy has become the latest player to succumb to what is becoming the Leeds Utd jinx. The 22 year old central defender was forced off during the second half of the u23 development game against Sheffield Wednesday. Unfortunately, Carlos Corberan had already used up all his substitutes so United were forced to play the last 15 minutes with 10 men. We will learn today the severeness of the injury. The game ended 2-2. Bielsa gave an injury update yesterday. Berardi and Shackleton may be fit for the weekend whilst Roofe and Hernandez wil definately be sidelined for at least another fortnight. We were also told notr to expect Izzy Brown to return to fitness anytime soon.
Morning all The only curse Leeds Utd have at the moment is a battling, winning mentality which was lacking last season. Injuries happen especially if you are trying hard to get a result. These things tend to even themselves out and just maybe we go from Xmas to April without any which will be a massive bonus. On to tonight and I think we will run out winners with 2 or 3 goals. Alex Neil was bragging yesterday that he has a great streak at ER and loves coming. Lets hope he gets slapped daft tonight and we take revenge on PNE for the cup game where we fielded a weak second string a few weeks ago.
Good morning from greekyland.i think tactics should play a big part in tonights proceedings.so i am planning an earlier meal time so i can be back and watch the game.no injuries to report today so far. As for leeds utd i think we are seeing a more professional approach to injuries.too often players have been rushed back only to break down again. I cant see hernandez playing full out all season and beradi by the nature of the beast that he is will always pick up knocks.a half ready player who is not up to speed will be a weak link in bielsaball.
good morning to Matt and co from a wet Bardsey I see that Preston will be without 2 players who have been suspended so they have their problems as well I still think we were silly not getting another striker and CB before the deadline
Under normal circumstances I would agree about the striker and CB, but with Bielsa it seems nothing is normal anymore. We know that he likes Nessy and has said he will be bringing him into the first team this season along with Pearce and Shackelton. We also know he likes Edmondson so just maybe he thinks we have some potentially great U23s and why not. Most of the top teams seem to have a 17 year old playing regular: Everton, Liverpool, Man City, Paris SG and many more. maybe we have a couple that are good enough to break through. Maybe Halme will be the CB we need, maybe Edmondson or Clarke make it as strikers? Both these made a huge impact yesterday. I know its wishful thinking but why can't Leeds have a kid good enough to break through?
Morning all. I agree with Mike we needed the bigger squad but time will tell and well be hopefully proved wrong. Anyway will be happy with a one nil tonight and thankful to SKYs new red button midweek coverage
Morning all...looking forward to tonights game...hope one of the youngsters gets some game time, sooner or later we'll need to find out if they can make the step up from the u23s to the first team.
I get the whole small squad concept... striker is the key one though... mb will only play 1 up front so if you have 3 recognised strikers 1 is sitting on the bench and one in the 23s all season. It’s hard to sign good players who fancy those odds and who won’t be an expensive moaning disruption. MBs concept is 2 for the position, a decent u23 as back up (Roberts) So it’s sod’s law we lose both strikers in the same week... but you can’t hide from the fact that it was a possibility. If there’s one position where there’s an argument to bend the bielsa philosophy it’s striker, as ultimately it’s such an important position. Most clubs have 4 strikers on their books.
Morning Matt and all Millwall are just above the drop zone, Harris is trying to take the heat away from himself, trying to keep his job, that's the last 2 home games they've been winning, lose one draw one, with the defeat against 10 men, he's under pressure and it's showing. Strange how he played down the incident just before the goal which lead to the reaction to the it, the bloke's an arse. Roofe and Hernandez will be the 2 big misses but out the longest, our luck
Spot on mate Harris is doing is utmost to deflect his own deficiencies by raising this matter which had supposedly been put to bed Roofe & Hernandez are a massive loss, their absence has disrupted the pattern of our play somewhat
Morning all from a room with a view of London Bridge not that far away from those wally scags that inhabit the den of inequity. Not the game that is conducive to waking from triple bypass surgery I have to say. Luckily I found out on Sunday that we had managed to salvage a draw and in addition stay top thanks to those yellow canaries. I still can't believe we cannot beat these wallies but hoping we gain revenge tonight if today is indeed Tuesday
We lost Pontus/Cooper at the same time & it ultimately cost us two points at Swansea. It will happen again throughout the season, we are playing a dangerous game. Right now even though we've acquired draws v Boro/Millwall we are witnessing a lack of fluency in our game without Roofe, Hernandez & Berardi. Lose anymore of our our quality players we could struggle as the back-up is nowhere near as strong. The big positive is we have a shrewd coach in Bielsa!
I have been looking at Villa because poor Steve is short of fit p[layers He has 5 GK 9 DEFENDERS 16 MIDFIELD PLAYERS 7 STRIKERS So he his now after Chalker to bolster his defence the Brentford manager awaits a telephone call from Villa!
Hate to be this guy but I have a bad feeling about tonight. Its nothing to do with the team or opposistion as I think we are better everywhere than them but just seen a stat saying that this is the first time in our history that we have been undefeated after 7 league games in consecutive seasons. Normally stats like that are produced just before something happens to bugger them up. Silly thing to worry about but is has left me with a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.
The main issue is exactly the same as Derby have. Too many players sitting on high wages and cant be offloaded because nobody wants to pay the wage. Derby went out and brought in lesser players from lower leagues expecting to be able to sell their stars for big profit. They got rid of Vydra and one more and all the rest are still there messing up the morale in the dressing room. Will Marriot get a chance whilst all the big earners are still there. Villa have it maybe worse as they need to sell the only player who may be good enough for the prem, but they want £30m for him which nobody is willing to do. jack Grealish would struggle to make our team. Now looks like Bruce's CV may look good for promotions but only after bankrupting the clubs he did it with. He's had 2 seasons at Villa and this is his 3rd and they are struggling. McChequebook is another who they can only loan out because nobody wants his wage demands
