Good Morning. Its Thursday 27th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Klich sinks Boro

Mateusz Klich's first half injury time winner, ( in off the post) sent 4500 Leeds fans wild with jubilation as the Whites condemned Jonathan Woodgate's Boro to their third defeat in a row. Only goal difference is keeping the Smoggo's away from the drop zone following Wigan's 3-0 demolition of Reading at the Madejski Stadium last night. Boro are without a win since New Years Day.

The hard fought victory at the Riverside Stadium means Leeds retain their 5 point cushion against Fulham (who scored an injury time winner against Swansea City).

Although wearing a wrist brace, and having two of his fingers tapped together, Kiko Casilla made the starting line up. Fortunately for Leeds, the 33yo shot stopper was very rarely called upon to make any saves.

The same could not be said of Kelvin Phillips who is still struggling having sustained a dead leg during last weekends match against Reading.

Rumour has it that Bielsa was so distraught at having to change his starting line up that he appealed to the FA to see if Phillips could take to the field in a wheel chair, being pushed by Alioski - but the FA were not keen!!!

Fortunately for the Whites, Phillips replacement, Berardi was an absolute inspiration with an almost faultless performance.

The same could not be said of talisman Pablo Hernandez. The inspirational soon to be 35yo lost possession last night 27 times!!!! Apart from his moment of magic last weekend, the former Swansea man desperately needs a rest! He can't perform at the level he can, week in, week out at his age!

Leeds could, and should have extended their lead; only poor finishing left Boro with a glimmer of a chance to get something out of the game.

Many will continue to point the finger at Patrick Bamford who not only should have added to his tally, but intercepted what would have been a Shotton own goal straight into the thankful hands of Stephen Pears.

Unfortunately 20m loan signing Jean-Kevin Augustin was omitted from the bench yesterday! This follows no pitch time last weekend against Reading. Suddenly big Kev has a hamstring strain that will also keep him out of Saturdays crunch game against Hull.

    Morning all...

It was scrappy last night, you don’t expect Pablo to give the ball away that amount of time, Costa was also very weak in pressing and tracking back but a win is a win. We know the team ticks better with Phillips in the middle, I’d take scrappy and three points over a perfect display and just a draw.

After the midweek games, one of the chasing pack has kept the same distance to us, three have dropped further behind. Fulham’s next three games are Preston, Bristol, Brentford, Leeds. I’m still not sure where our main challenge for the autos is going to come from, I was sure Brentford or Fulham the other day, now it’s looking more likely to be Forest

Morning all. Hard fought win and move on. All about points now. Thought Beradi was terrific, possibly skating on thin ice a couple of times but that's his game. Ref let everything go, messed up an equal number of times for both sided. Hope Philips is fit for remaining games as he's so crucial to our game. Im sure someone will point out what Paddy contributed, maybe some of the lads who were there. Wasn't obvious to me. Also said earlier in the week that Forest look to be the threat. On a great run and on paper have a similar run in to ourselves, maybe Boro could do us a favour Monday night against them. Roll on Saturday morn, two games a week is great

Is that how Bamford joined us?

Did he win the spot the ball competition?

As Alioski was already wheeling Bamford on after Augustin had reportedly pulled a Muscle after giving Bamford a kick, which means Bamford can now play only one legged, however reports from Leeds fans say this is his normal game. Could this report be true ? I wonder

Good morning & what a wonderful morning it is to (football wise that is)
    Great result last night

My last dig at Bamford i promise
At least in later life Bamford can take comfort in the fact that he doesn't suffer from dementia threw heading the ball to hard.

good morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey
Last nights hard fought result should have been a formality unfortunately we had Bamford at what he does best missing easy chances
I feel that as a striker he can't shoot is hopeless at heading a ball and if he has a strop no doubt couldn/t throw his toys out as he probably can't throw either
Surely the likes of Roberts should be given a chance Bamford has lost all confidence and we would be doing him and the team a favour
IU failo to understand how we were prepared not only to pay £7m but to give him 30k a week daylight robbery
Unfortunately we wi9ll be unable t6o sell him and may have to subsidise his wages
Got that out of my system!Mike

Fulham play Brentord on Friday 13th March. We play Cardiff on the 15th March. Then we have to play Fulham on the 18th March.

I'm worried about our recovery time for that one.
