Good Morning. It's Thursday 22nd July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds Fans will be devastated following slash in away ticket allocation

Leeds fans will be left fuming after it was revealed last night that their away allocation for the forthcoming season has been more than halved in some cases. Even in previous seasons in the Championship, Leeds would regularly sell out their maximum away allocation of 8000, still leaving many disappointed. The maximum away allocation this forthcoming season, is just 3000.

If you are an existing away season ticket holder, you are guaranteed a renewal, as are those who have achieved the highest attendance record, attending over 80% of away games (league & cup) in the last five seasons.

Home Season Ticket Holders and Members are not affected by this. They will be offered tickets on a first come, first served basis.

To clarify the matter, the club have released the following statement:-

"Leeds United, in partnership with the Supporter Advisory Board, have reviewed the away ticketing policy for the upcoming Premier League season, taking into account the significantly reduced allocation for away fixtures and the increased demand. "The maximum allocation for any away match in the Premier League is only 3,000 versus up to 8,000 for some games in the Championship.

"Therefore, the club has developed an updated policy, in consultation with the Supporters Advisory Board, to ensure the allocation of away tickets is founded on rewarding away loyalty whilst also allowing the wider fan base to attend a small number of games a season to be able to experience supporting the team away from home.

"The away ticketing policy will continue to be focused on rewarding our supporters who have regularly attended away fixtures, with Away Season Ticket Holders guaranteed a ticket along with those supporters who have achieved a high attendance record, attending over 80% of away games (league & cup) in the last five seasons (100 games or more between 2015/16 and 2019/20).

"The remaining tickets will then be distributed between supporters who gained a high away match attendance during the 2019/20 season – these supporters will have a 50% chance of gaining a ticket for each away match (ensuring they can attend games with roughly the same frequency they did in the Championship).

"This will mean that almost two thirds of the tickets will always be allocated to supporters with a track record of high away attendance.

"By ensuring a small allocation of tickets are made available for Season Ticket Holders and Members, we are offering more fans the chance to experience supporting the team away from home, which will in turn help to grow the Leeds United fan base, particularly with younger supporters.

"Growing our fan base is a central strategic pillar of ensuring continued on-field success. "The away allocation policy will be fully transparent to supporters, and based on the standard allocation of 3,000 will be as follows:

    "27% Away Season Ticket Holders

    "9.5% Super Away Attendees**

"27% Tracker (supporters with high tracker attendance from 19/20)

"27% Home Season Ticket Holders on a first come first served basis

"9.5% Members on a first come first served basis

"** Super Away Attendees (100 or more League & Cup away games between 2015/16 and 2019/20). These supporters will be contacted directly by the Ticket Office with details of their online application process.

"Home Season Ticket Holders and Members will be offered tickets on a first come, first served basis, allowing them the opportunity to not only occasionally attend an away match but also allowing them the chance to build up their away attendance to enable them to access the away tracker system for future campaigns.

"Please note that there will be no new applications accepted for the Away Season Ticket Scheme and that current Away Season Ticket Holders will be contacted shortly with the information they need to renew.

"Following further feedback from supporters, the club are also changing the sale time for away tickets from 10:30am to 1pm to allow supporters to access the internet more easily to be able to apply, and there will be a restriction on the number of away tickets that can be purchased in one transaction online (this will be capped at 10 tickets - to still allow groups to arrange travel together).

"The club understands that the distribution of away tickets is an important and emotive topic for supporters and the club believes it has, with supporter feedback, developed a fair and transparent policy founded on loyalty that has evolved to address the issues surrounding the significant reduction in allocations and increase in demand.

"For further information relating to the away ticket policy for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign, please contact the Leeds United Ticket Office on 0371 334 1992.

    New home shirt revealed

Leeds Utd have revealed their new home shirt for the forthcoming season, and it goes on sale from 9am this morning! Many have speculated over recent weeks whether Adidas would keep with tradition, or go with a new fresh concept - fortunately its a combination of both.

The new home shirt is predominantly white with the traditional three Adidas stripes running down the middle of the shoulder in a bright yellow.

A spokesman for the Whites was quoted as saying:-

"A second season back in the Premier League beckons. "Swashbuckling football, constant attack, incredible stamina. "Now everyone can see it. "This team. These players. They want to make you proud. "Different by design. The wait is over, the new home shirt is here. Pure Leeds United.

"When adidas designed the jersey, they went for clean and fresh. "Made with Primegreen, a high-performance recycled material, the soft, textured fabric joins forces with moisture-absorbing AEROREADY to ensure a comfortable wear whenever you feel like showing off your colours.

"The famous three stripes adorn the shoulders, and the shirt is accompanied with traditional white shorts and socks. "The kit design is further complimented by colour matched sponsor logos from SBOTOP, BOXT and JD. "The legendary Elland Road atmosphere is set to return this coming season, something unique, so get ready back at LS11 and wear the white shirt with pride.

Pablo rejoins boyhood club after 24 year wait

Pablo Hernandez is set to turn back the clock, and pen a three year deal with his boyhood club Castellon. The veteran 36yo has spent the last 5 seasons at Elland Road, netting 31 times in 152 appearances; during which time the four time Spanish International gained cult status with the Elland Road faithful.

Hernadez first joined Castellon at the tender age of twelve. He spent 5 years there learning his trade, before Valencia came knocking! Reports in Spain say Hernandez has turned down more lucrative offers to play for Castellon.

A club representative said: "CD Castellón has reached an agreement with Pablo Hernández whereby the international midfielder for Spain and more than 400 matches in the elite becomes an Albinegro player for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2024.

"Pablo has been linked to the club since 2017 as a shareholder, when Vicente Montesinos assumed the presidency of the entity in the Third Division, a key moment in history with the club at risk of disappearance. "Now, still with a lot of magic in his boots, he becomes the franchise player in the premiere at the First RFEF. In the next few days, Pablo Hernández will be officially presented to the media."

Away tickets is an emotive issue and in fairness we all know somebody who goes to every away match, and these should be the ones who take priority. Heidi is a great example of this.

Anyone know what the average away fans numbers were who came to Leeds? I dont think we ever saw 8,000 come to ER and if we are only supposed to allocate 3,000 now well maybe that should mean more home tickets available for Leeds fans

Today we will see the big reveal from the club as Lewis Bate is announced. Great but if biz at £1.2m plus a substantial sell on fee. He joins Amari Miller & Sean McGurk for the U23s.

Wonder if Bielsa has changed his mind on Leif Davies as it seems the loan to Bournemouth has collapsed. Did Davies turn up for pre season looking a better player? If thats the case he would be the ideal No2 to Junior Firpo

Potentially a class signing this lad even though we can't say we know a lot about him. Chelsea Fans are a bit pizzed he's leaving and most of their fans forums say he's very good. watched some Chelsea die hard Fan on youtube he's a bit gutted to see him go. So all the signs are there.
Hope he turns out to be something special and leads us on in our future.
    fingers crossed.

We have obviously allowed this deal to go through and apparently the reason is the coaching at City for wingers. Harrison, Foden, Sancho and Diaz to name just 4 recent wingers who are now flying high….

Looks like Bobby Kamwa is also on his way out of the club as he was playing in a friendly yesterday for Rotherham Utd. We could be on the verge of shipping out a dozen U23s this Summer

    Per
Perhaps he prefers blackpool to Bournemouth. Davies may well not fancy the move.

Think only 3 teams brought more than 2,000- Forest Huddersfield and Wednesday. The highest being 2,664. Was decent in that they started selling the West Stand lower to Leeds fans on a few occasions.
