Good Morning. It's Thursday 15th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds strongly linked to Croatian winger after Wolfsburg gesture Italian media, and overseas transfer specialists 'Calciomercato.it', have reported that Leeds have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Wolfsburg ace Josip Brekalo. The highly rated 23yo winger was instrumental in helping Wolfsburg to fourth place in the Bundesliga last term. He predominantly operates down the right wing but has also played at right back. Last term to netted seven times, and contributed three assists in 22 appearances. Brekalo is a Croatian International. He has 27 caps to his name (and four goals). He featured three times for his Country during the Euro's. According to Calciomercato. It, Wolfsburg are open minded about Leeds taking Brekalo on loan, including an obligation to buy (a little bit like Jean Kevin Augustin, but with a happier outcome). Brekalo has also attracted the likes of Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Fiorentina. A fee of 15.4m (€18m) is expected. Brekalo sparked controversy in 2018 after stating that he would not like to wear a captain's armband with LGBT flag colours. He also 'liked' homophobic comments on the club's Instagram post of captain Josuha Guilavogui wearing the armband. Brekalo blamed it on a mobile phone malfunction. please log in to view this image Davis off on loan Bournemouth are in advanced talks to bring Leif Davis down to the South Coast on a season long loan. The 21yo only featured a handful of times last season. The performances of Alioski and Dallas have kept his opportunities very limited. Davis joined the Whites in 2018 from Morecombe for an undisclosed fee, and went straight into the U23's. He has been a fringe player for the last two seasons. Cherries Manager Scott Parker has made Davis a top target of theirs this season, and with the arrival of Firpo at Elland Road, Bielsa will be keen for Davis to get first team action. please log in to view this image Leeds make cash offer for Woodman According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Leeds have made a cash bid for Magpies keeper Freddie Woodman, but could it be too late? Reports surfaced yesterday that the 24yo shot stopper had not only agreed terms with Bournemouth, but had passed his medical too! Only a foot injury to first choice (Newcastle) keeper Martin Dubravka had prevented Woodman from flying out to join the Cherries at their training camp in Marbella. Woodman has impressed during his two season loan move to Championship outfit Swansea, where he made 88 appearances for the Swans. It is understood that Woodman is on a short list of three drawn up by Messrs Bielsa and Orta. Levante goalkeeper Daniel Cardenas and Kristoffer Klaesson from Norweigan outfit Vålerenga are believed to be the other two! please log in to view this image
Morning all Josep Brekolo is a very good left winger who sometimes plays right wing or Wngback. I posted a clip of him on yesterdays breakfast thread if anyone interested. Seems to be more in the price range we want too. Oh and the bollox about him and the rainbow armband I can believe and dont give a toss about. When will people in this country realise that they have no right in the way other countries educate their kids. We have no input into their values or history so we should just fk off. Amazing we never criticise Muslims who kill gays and enslave women. Virtue signalling cnuts Huggins on his way and looks like Davies too, which can only mean we are bringing in another left winger/wing back. Someone who can push Harrison and Junior
Brekolo looks like he'd be a superb acquisition. He supposedly neglects his defensive duties but I'm sure Bielsa would rectify that flaw. Agree with his stance re not wearing the rainbow captain's armband - why should he? He's a footballer not a political activist. It at least shows he has character and won't be dictated to be the woke brigade. Hope it's more than just the usual clickbait lazy journalism.
I saw the story last night in an Italian sports mag, but looking into it there seems to be a bit of sense to it. Wolfsburg need cash and a way of getting more than the player value is to do a loan with a loan fee and then a guaranteed buy. The player is out if contract after this coming season so player value will be reduced, but this way they would get todays full value plus a loan fee? The other thing that strikes me is that we have heard nothing for a whole week about Madueke or KK which could be a good sign or it could be they are out of the running. Cunha getting lots of mentions but at £25m I dont see it happening, yes Noa Lang mentioned as a very real prospect but greedy clubs wanting too much money. So just maybe the cheapest player with a more needy club?
Think Victor Orta is about to join the Marvel Hero’s list as he was apparently in Caliagri Sardinia, Milan, Norway, Newcastle, Spain and Leeds yesterday so well done Victor he was probably sat at home with his feet up working on Zoom in reality
I'm half thinking, what about Jamie Shackleton. Early reports say that he was leading the way in early training, but if we are only going to give him what he did last terms, lets get rid of him on loan!
Cheers Doc. You sure Roberts is back? didn't look like it yesterday unless it was taken earlier and he posted it later.
Am I missing something here because Wales didnt actually do much in the recent Euros and if Cooper and Koch are back then the Roberts fella should also be back
thats why I asked when all were back as it seems strange some have come back earlier than others. can Understand Phillips and Llorente getting a extra week or few days as they went near enough to the end but all the rest surely now should be back amongst the group at least. Maybe Bielsa already knows he isn't starting in the 11 lol so gave him a extra few days.
According to Adam Pope Leif Davies to Bournemouth isnt as far down the road as people think. Other clubs are also trying to get him, so looks like we will decide which club he gies to and what the club need to do to get him
Kalvin has been given 11 days off (doesn't seem long enough to me), I did read somewhere that Koch has reported back earlier than he was asked to
Sabah Sport are reporting Alioski has signed for Galatasaray Orta was in Norway looking to secure a keeper Klaesson Hearing we are not interested in signing Nandez, we enquired, the price was to high and we left it
If Alioski joins the turkish scum then I will only refer to him as "****" from here on in. I think that is fair.
Huddersfield Town have told everyone they will no longer be taking the knee starting with pre season friendlies and all next season
I don't like seeing the Turk and LUFC hashtag together like that. Always thought there was no smoke without fire and when Sabah sport mentioned it earlier I thought surely not
