    Good Morning Everyone,

Would you say that the Championship this season are stronger or weaker than in previous seasons?

We are still waiting to hear the severeness of Barry Douglas's injury he picked up during Leeds 1-0 win at the KCOM Stadium midweek.

We understand he will be out of action, certainly in the immediate future. This of course, rules him out of Saturdays clash against brentford?

Who would you have replacing Douglas?

Steve Bruce became the latest Championship casualty as Villa give the 57yo his marching orders.

Thierry Henry, Mick McCarthy and Brentford Manager Dean Smith are the early favourites for the Villa Park hot seat.

Villa are currently occupying 13th spot, seven points behind Leeds.

    Good morning.

There seems to be a lot of potential contenders this season, Rather than one or two runaway top teams, this season.

If we had more strength in depth I think we could have been. Don’t think our forwards have quite the punch of teams like WBA.

Right now I see ourselves, Boring Boro, and WBA as the main contenders for auto. My feeling (based on very little info admittedly) is that Sheffield U won’t stay the pace all season and are more likely to be playoff contenders.

Just hope we are not third of those 3. Nerves could not stand being in playoffs.

I'd bring Pearce in and keep Beradi on the Bench. Morning all <ok>

    Morning all...

The way we have been playing, I think we would have remained in the top two comfortably last season. I’m saying that as we didn’t strengthen that much this season, yes we splashed out on Bamford but so far he has been a very bit part player.

This season it’s a lot tighter, every point is going to be vital and I can see GD being worth an extra come the end of the season. It’s going to make or break one team I’m sure.

I’ve read it’s a hamstring injury for him, Club are saying muscular strain, Douglas himself has shared tweets with fans but ignored every question on the injury so you’d have to assume a lengthy 4 weeks plus?

On the manager front, it is around now many teams take a knee jerk reaction to a start not as good as expected. I’m finding myself very concerned about the unrest at Man U I dread the thought they might come hunting for Bielsa

Good Morning to the Sheriff and his posse from a dull Bardsey
Well WBA showed that they will not be beaten easily coming back with 2 late goals I said that Harvey Barnes was an exceptional player and so he proved again
Think there is 3 sides in with a chance hoping ours is one of them
I said that Dean Smith was right for the Villa job and I expect him to be announced today or tpmorrow
    Pearce for me or Beradi

    Severity :police:

Evening all, if Douglas is out for a while I think it will be Dallas to replace him, as he did the other night.

    Good morning Matt & everyone

    Weaker but still competitive

We are definitely the Wolves/Fulham in this seasons championship. We also have the best coach in the league

I suspect boring Boro' & West Brom will be challenging us although the baggies have a serious weakness defensively. The Blunts have started well again but can Wilder keep them going?

I've always thought Dean Smith (Brentford) & Lee Johnson (Bristol City) are decent coaches who work wonders off a low budget
Where are the other challengers ?

    Morning Matt and all.

I think it's on par with last season but weaker than previous ones, expected a lot more from Stoke. I think the injuries to Roofe and Pablo have cost us 5 points.

Can only guess on the injury to Douglas, Pearce is the natural replacement for me, did well in a poor performing team end of last season, so no reason he can't fit in this.
A lot of talk it will be Smith, MM is the wrong fit and Henry is a name with no experience.

Morning all.....I think the championship is much tighter this season. There are currently, 3 obvious contenders, (us, boro, wba) but there is usually a team who has a poor start & then goes on a good run of results to put themselves into the frame. Not sure yet who it could be, possibly Villa when the new Manager influence sets in

But then again WBA are probably wishing they had a defence as good as Leeds

The fact they’ve scored more goals is irrelevant, they’ve conceded a lot more too and at the end of the day GD is the bottom line

Arrived late last night. Off for a meal in an hour then coach into Munich - let the beer commence :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Morning all by the way - can’t help but think 3 points on Saturday would be massive, keep us in the top two and a couple of weeks to get some big players back.

Play nice and have fun :emoticon-0148-yes:
