Good Morning. It's Thursday 31st October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Klich to sign new deal - but will it avert interest from Burnley? It is understood that Leeds midfielder Mateusz Klich is to be signing a new three year deal with the club. Although the 29yo has not been able to replicate the form of last season, he has been a regular starter in Bielsa's XI. What impact will this have on long term admirers Burnley? The Clarets are set to make a bid for the Polish International in the January transfer window. Currently, Klich's deal runs out at the end of the season. hence Burnley's interest to snap him up at a fraction of his value. What value would you put on the Pole? Would you let him go in the January transfer window? Are Leeds extending his contract to increase his value? please log in to view this image FA still investigating Casilla The FA are STILL investigating an alleged racist incident involving Kiko Casilla. The 33yo shot stopper was accused by on loan Charlton forward Jonathan Leko of using insulting and racial language towards the Congo International earlier in the season. A six match ban awaits should the Spaniard be charged and found guilty of the offence! How important is Casilla? Recent stats show that the former Real Madrid keeper has saved 81 per cent of the on-target shots he has faced in the league this season, the highest in the division. Also, no Championship goalkeeper has made more accurate short passes than Casilla this term! please log in to view this image In other news Although, not Leeds related, it does involve a promotion adversary. Derby County have sacked Richard Keough!!! The 33yo suffered a serious knee injury in a car accident where he was a back seat passenger. Fellow Derby players Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett were driving their respective vehicles when they collided. All three Derby players had been drinking heavily. Then Lawrence and Bennett fled the scene. They later admitted to drink-driving charges, were both fined the equivalent of six weeks' wages - the maximum contractual limit - by Derby. At court the pair were ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work and were disqualified from driving for two years. Whilst Lawrence and Bennett have resumed their careers as if nothing has happened, Keough faces twelve months on the sidelines due to the injury he sustained in the drunken melee. The club asked Keough to take a hefty cut in wages, due to the fact that he can't play! Keogh refused, and they have terminated his contract! On a positive note, I'm sure the arrival of Wayne Rooney in January will enhance the Rams high standing and reputation. Thoughts? please log in to view this image
Morning All, Just given my thoughts about Keogh on the 29th Oct thread Klich is good but not as good as last season or was it just the transformation that occurred last year that made him look good? A new contract for him would be good and keep any transfer offer at a reasonable level. Is he irreplaceable, I don't think so, but I only see what's shown on TV and perhaps he does more when viewed in real life
Morning all, Klich is one of those players whose attributes go largely under the radar and the quality he brings to the team is only noticed when he's no longer in it. Important player for Leeds, would be a huge loss were he to leave.
Morning all. Derby County statement ; "The club will not tolerate any of it's players or staff behaving in a manner which puts themselves, their colleagues, and members of the general public at risk of injury or worse, or which brings the club into disrepute" By that standard surely they have to sack the other two dickheads as well, otherwise the club brings itself into disrepute.
Morning all Keogh is ugly and a crap player but was DCFC captain and that should mean something. Derby yesterday offered him a new contract which included a substantial drop in wages of £25,000 per week he is in the last year of his contract and due to his injuries will not be available for the club until Xmas 2020, so the club have sacked him for gross misconduct. You can clearly see the reason for this because he would be drain on the club finances and his value is zero. Unfair dismissal claim on its way due to poor and stupid management. Remember Keogh was an innocent bystander and never broke the law or indeed was arrested. It should also be noted that a 4th player was involved and he too has been sacked but hes from the academy. The 2 guilty players were drunk and drove and left the scene of an accident and were so drunk deaths could have been the result. They are worth money on the books and Derby will not sack them because it would allow them to go elsewhere and sign free on big money with no transfer fee for Derby. Simple to sort out if there was an insurance policy that paid the club the value of the players then they could be sacked. klich isnt the player of last season because hes playing more as a No10 aid and he's being stifled and struggling to score the goals he scored at the same stage last season. We need to resolve the No10 role because Im hearing Pablo is going back to his home town club in Spain this Summer
Morning all... Derby and Morris are a disgrace. Klich is probably suffering a little having Dallas alongside him and the formation change probably doesn’t suit him as well. Last year with a 10 and Pablo he had more space. Klich is a dependable 7/10 type player, he will rarely let you down, he will rarely get the mom award. Casilla is important to the team, so is the timing of the verdict. If it drags into the next transfer window and we sign another player on loan in place of Clark we’d have to use the loan keeper (if Casilla was banned) leaving a shortage of space.
but the other two players are fit to play.but Keogh as club captain went along for the ride so knew what was happening.he is supposed to set an example and should be holier than thou.he did well to get any sort of offer in my opinion and may never at his age play any decent standard of football again.just shows the arrogance of the man as he could have taken the offer .then used the time and money to set up a new life as rent a thug or ugly gigolo.seriously though whoever gave him advice is a numpty and proably a lawyer of sorts.
Morning all. Couldn’t give a damn what’s going on at Derby or any other club. Doesn’t impact our season. Want us to resolve our dire lack of goals issue ASAP. Everything else simply is a distraction. Hope Casillas not guilty. Six weeks on subs bench and replaced with an untried keeper at championship level would not be ideal
Morning all. EFL just assessing when the best time would be to try to derail our promotion push. We’re not clear so they can hang on a little longer
So Fast Eddie starts and Pablo and Cooper are fit again. Bamford, Alioski, Douglas and Forshaw are out injured. Bamford ankle, Alioski side and Douglas knee which must be made of rice krispies.... Bielsa also said he can see a way of playing Eddie and Bamford one behind the other and not out wide for either. He says it will work, so once Pat back lets hope he tries it. bench should be important this time as we need to see if Roberts or Clarke will replace Eddie if required and will Pablo start
Good to see Pablo back would like to see young davies in to replace alioski but will probably be Dallas. Hopefully it's the shake up we need will this mean Edmundson gets on the bench then as well.
I would love it if Bielsa can get both Jaffa Boy and Fast Eddie on together just like Stevie Wonder said - Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony Side by side on my piano keyboard.
