The Managing Director went on to say that although the club misses out on gate receipts of £550,000 for every home match, he believes that the club can survive eight or nine months without football. “It would be a very serious situation,” “Like a lot of businesses, all our revenue streams dried up overnight, the football financing market, certainly for Championship clubs, also died out overnight as well. “We are well-funded, we have a generous owner (Andrea Radrizzani) who is committed to the club, and we can weather the short-term (damage). But if behind-closed-doors was persistent in the long-term, it really brings significant challenges and it requires restructuring the business model in some really radical ways.” “I think if it is for eight or nine months, I am confident that Leeds United could survive,” he said. “It would be challenging and it is about how the business model would have to adapt. “The biggest challenge is around player wages, that’s the primary cost for all clubs in the Championship. Good morning. Glad you're feeling well enough to start the breakfast debate. I'm not sold on Hart, he could be a bargain for someone who's willing to take the risk and hope he gets back to where he was five years ago but I'm not sure that should be us. Meslier is higher risk but could be higher reward. It's not great when an owner comes out and says how many months you could survive but every club will be in the same position so I'm not too worried specifically for Leeds. The clubs with owners with deep pockets will obviously come out of this the best but the biggest clubs outside of the Prem might be able to find other ways to command revenue. I'd be more worried for the likes of Luton or Wigan.
Morning all. Must be a nightmare trying to run a club at present. I’ve numerous friends who are self employed, run businesses who have no idea what lies ahead. Can’t imagine what it must be like to have a bunch of employees earning up to 50k a week you are contractually obliged to pay for maybe next four years with not a clue when or what level your revenue stream will return
