    Good Morning Everyone

With Roofe nearing a return to first team action, should our leading scorer face a spell on the bench before forcing his way back into the starting XI?

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Roofe should put pressure on Bamford and I now expect Bamford to be fully fit again so no more excuses for him. He has had sleepless nights about his last 2 games as he should have been the hero that kept us in 2nd place. If Bamford doesn't score Roofe needs to come on and in some circumstances both Roofe and Bamford should play.

There are so many stats around today but the scary one for us is that we create more chances than anyone else, so on paper should be clear at the top of the league, but we fire more blanks than half the teams in our league. So that is exactly what our problem is and hopefully we can turn those created chances into more goals over the last 8 games.

    Morning all..

Roofe for Bamford, Roofe is quicker and his pace scares defenders, he finds space and his movement creates gaps as he pulls defenders with him, he is also the best attacking player we have at pressuring the opposition when we don’t have the ball.

If fit I’d bring him on for Bamford 2nd half but not against Millwall, we need Bamford height at defending set pieces

    Morning Matt and all

If Roofe is to come back in, it would have to be at the expense of Bamford, the system we play wouldn't suit both playing together, not without it weakening one of their games.
They both have a good goals to games ratio but I think Roofe is more likely to get a goal out of nothing, different games suit either player, ie Bolton away, Roofe struggled, Bamford comes on and bangs in the winner, Roofe does seem to struggle more with the big physical defences, Bolton, Boro Brum and Millwall will come into that bracket, so I wouldn't start him Saturday. Overall though on this seasons evidence, I prefer to start Roofe with Bamford coming on.

    Good morning Matt & All

    Roofe

The only position Roofe should play is as a No.9 if Bamford is struggling to make an impact on a game

    Jansson

His 224 interceptions/clearances is very impressive

I think Pontus has played in 32 games, that's an average of 7 per game.

Not bad considering we've spent less time defending this season

    3161 average away attendance

Hopefully that average will increase with Birmingham, Preston & Ipswich aways to come although could take a hit as our allocation at Brentford will be low

    Morning All,

The only stats that interest me will be play 8 win 8. All good info though Ell but it's getting a bit close to the pointy end of the stick to be using what's happend so far to get any comfort from them. We have, as Doc says, got to convert the chances we create into

Imagine how far clear wed be with a striker of the ball like Yeboah. Our current players with the exception of Pablo, strike it more like Dame Edna

back on the stats talk, I saw the best CBs in the league earlier and was great to see both Pontus and Cooper in the top 5, but surprised to see Pennington ahead of both. So in a crap team Pennington has excelled this season?

Good Morning To Matt and co from a fairly warm Bardsey
Glad to see Taylor leave at last he thought more about buying Lowerys than his members and his salary was a total disgrace he could no more inspire me that Corbyn.I suppose he will ask for the Lowery as his retirement present!
His Roofe about to enter the fray its news to me I would still like Brown to be given a chance instead of Roberts

The Brown debate is worth a look to be fair. I have seen him play quite a few games for the U23s and in each game he has been one of the outstanding Leeds players in a very good team. He has chipped in with 8 goals and remember he hasnt played that many games as he was only part fit in December.

So he has given goals, leadership, pace and power and some brilliantly slick play. He has at times looked sluggish, slow and a couple of passes have gone astray. I suggest that some of this seemingly sluggish play is down to getting full fitness backand some stray passes is due to playing with people who are never regular players in a fluid line up. He has had more MOM performances as a % number of games played and his strike rate is the best in relation to his games played. Think hes 2nd top scorer and he plays in the middle? He has played out wide and looked good too.

Yes we can slag him off and we can say he isnt good enough, he has wasted our time etc etc etc. I suspect Bielsa knows what Brown brings and it may be nothing so we wont see him. I believe however he offers something different and we will see him as a secret weapon and we may even see another secret weapon in Bogusz soon too

I agree and I hope Bielsa doesn’t see Roofe as a replacement number 10 for Roberts. Before his injury Bielsa was trying to play them both, I’d much rather see one of them on the bench coming on as fresh legs or a game changer in the second half or 20 minutes to go.

Looks like Bielsa has been reading my stuff <laugh>

Bielsa reveals analysis over missed chances

"We are the second team in the league who have scored more goals and we have created double the chances of anyone else in the league.

"We have missed nearly 250 chances on goal. The teams at the top score 1 of 3 chances. The teams at the bottom score 1 in 5.

"The offensive play of the team is the best thing the team has. If we improve efficiency and more luck we could have 10 points more, but it is just the analysis."

Found myself nodding in agreement, then it struck me that they both hit different types of ball. Think Yeboah might struggle as much as anyone else with today's ball. In his day you had something to put your foot through. Not now, it's like trying to play tennis with a wayward shuttlecock.

Pablos able to hit it and direct it no problem. I suspect it’s more lack of technical ability in the shooting stakes than the balls fault.

More good news from Orta as today we signed the wonderkid that Man City were chasing. Morten Spencer ia Leeds Utd player. Sunderland picked im up for their academy from Norway butMiddelsboro and Man City were offering him his first pro contract and City offering a lot of cash. Step in Victor Orta <applause><applause> we stole him because of Bielsa
