Good Morning Everyone, and Happy Valentines Day!!! Who forgot? Who forgot once, and will never forget again??? Who thinks its a waste of money? Leeds returned to the top of the table last night following what can only be described as the most one sided games where the scoreline does not reflect the result! Yet again we dominated, but were unable to reflect that in the scoreline! Where are we going wrong? We conceded our sixth penalty of the season last night. We don't help ourselves when players make such dreadful challenges in the box! Leeds remain on their one penalty in 18 months! Alioski is Leeds only player to participate in every game this season! Is the Macedonian turning into our most consistent player this season? Hibs have appointed Paul Heckingbottom as head Coach. Heckingbottom has been out of work since 1st June 2018, when Leeds released him from his contractual obligations! Wasn't Heck supposed to have been one of the big up and coming Managers?
Morning all Leeds problem is that we dont have a Grabban, Gayle, Rodriguez or Sharpe - well we do but he's been unfit all season and last night showed him getting his sharpness back and would have normally tucked a couple away. We create more chances than any other team but fail to slot them away. yes we have seen some great saves, some post and cross bars hit, but we've seen some big misses too. One other thing to take into account is the number of penalties we have not scored unlike WBA. Forest, Norwich, Blunts. (Mentioned in Bottom of THIS league thread) they say luck comes around, but when it comes to penalties we are being shafted. The 61% possession data actually dropped from 70% because of the way we allowed them back in for the last 15 minutes last night. We completely dominated and smashed them to bits last night but a silly mistake by Ayling caused mayhem and we lost control. More goals required to kill teams off and stop them thinking they have a chance, just like the first Norwich game and the Derby games
Morning all. I'm typing this , so obviously haven't forgot. It's unreal how many times we dominate only to fail in the last quarter, its now becoming like the striker who hasn't scored in an age, it plays on the mind and that makes things harder, having said that we scored 2, if we can do that from now every game on in, it will be enough to get us over the line. I think all but 1 of the penalties we've conceded have been the correct decision, the problem is, what is it now, 5/6 at least we should have been given but haven't got. Does make you wonder, The FL and Sky losing their cash cow, may have something to do with it. Ali tries, has 1 good game in 5, I find it hard to criticise players that give their all but I just wish he had that little bit more composure, which is what I feel he lacks. Heck is a poor manager, well was for us, his short comings was glaringly obvious when he came here, a job he should never have been given, but who can blame him for taking it but the big problem he had, was hanging the players out to dry, never once took responsibility always singled out someone for criticism, not a way to get players on your side.
Morning all.. Until the final 15 minutes I never felt the result was going to be in doubt, I really enjoyed 75 minutes of that match, I did think for the first time this season we looked more tired than the opposition in the final 20 minutes so a 10 day break will be welcomed. I’m not too much worried about the shots on target stats either, the opposition pack the box when we’re attacking so if we let fly with a shot on target but it hits a defender it doesn’t go down as one on target unless he is the last man or it is cleared off the line. My only real negative yesterday was Bamford and Roofe together, it just isn’t working for me. I get the impression Roofe isn’t happy playing behind Bamford either. We’ve still won every game after scoring first.
Morning everyone stuff valentines day. Luke Ayling i have never seen him as a good defender or a provider of any note. He looked good under monk because of two holding mids in place. He let one player put a cross box ball in last night luckily no one was at back post to put it in. His defending is woefull and thats on a good day. A coach cannot keep playing someone of his obvious lack of talent. This team has moved up a level but Ayling has not. So he looks the player he really is not top of the league standard. Time to be ruthless mr Bielsa he wont get any better.
Your views are noted mate, but if you read what Bielsa says about "Bill" you will see a player who is great in attack and usually great in defence. He's not quite back to his 7+ performances but getting close again. I can only go with what Bielsa says about him
Morning all. Great result and performance for most of game. I think what we tend to forget is this is unchartered waters for these players and most others involved at promotion push with Norwich, Wba and Sheffield. Takes something special to handle the added pressure involved as Norwich found last night. Last 13 games will be battles for everyone and I dont expect too many pretty games from here in, Lots of highs and lows for everyone. While were not playing this weekend, other fixtures make it just as important for us so Ill be watching progress in other games very carefully. Ill keep you lot that dont believe any interest in any other team is allowed, updated. I wont name names
Good morning all Great result/s last night Agree with Eire,as we all know anyone can beat anyone in this league,it's now down to,who wants it the most & who can keep their bottle, this is where it's so important to have a great manager to keep the players focused on this finale stretch, this is where i think we will lay claim to one of the two auto places,as we litterally have the best manager in the division, who has managed at the highest level.Team which will possibly go up with,us chris wilders sheff utd,the play offs even more of a lottery than usual.just my opinion mind.
Yep anyone can beat anyone, sides seem to hit a run of form and then fade away... eg qpr, hull, Bristol city are probably now in one... it’s possible they could be the late chargers we see most seasons but (given the penalty the other night) it seems more likely they’re just in a run of form and luck. For us its just about maintaining performance standards and cutting out the stupid mistakes that have cost us... easier said than done as we enter the nervy part of the season. Norwich played well in the second half against us but beat us with 3 deflections. They were outplayed for large parts of the game by Ipswich but scored with their 3 shots on target. Last night they lost to a side that did take their chances. That’s football its very fine margins.
Good Morning to matt and co from Seacroft library Good result especially with Norwich losing How did Dan James playwe still insist we will buy him in Summer for a lot less I bet1 Got to go time has run out

60 see my comments on yesterday's breakfast debate about BT supplying you a temporary fix for your internet whilst it's down
Bucks, is that the case when Mike's supplier is TalkTalk? Openreach appear to be re-laying his lines, but they're now separate from BT.
That's probably a no then I would have thought. That's a shame they should at least compensate the customer though I would have thought!
As I was trying to say Elland, I can never forget Valentines because I got married 32 years ago on the day...
You soppy fooker,or was it so you only have to get one present for Valentines and the anniversary. After you spent most of your money on ale.
Afternoon all. If the EFL sorted important things out as quickly as they respond to sarky emails, Spygate would already be history. Today it was the lovely Jessica on duty, who flatly refused to take the bait: Dear Danny, I notice you didn’t address this question in your response: “If all you have to consider is a breach of EFL 3.4, it happens and is ignored every time a player dives (a real blot on our game)” And then Dwight Gayle swan-dives in the area against Forest tonight, cons the referee and thereby salvages a point, denying Forest 2 which they merited. How does that fit with section 3.4, or is that just a catch-all reserved for Leeds? I’d be interested in your thoughts, Cheers, Hello Dave, Thank you for your email, we note your comments. Any acts of player misconduct would be for the match officials to deal with at the time as they see appropriate. Should any incident(s) be missed by the officials, retrospective action may be taken following the game. In that sense any retrospective action or otherwise relating to player/manager/club officials’ discipline would then be taken by The Football Association (FA), as at their discretion. The FA is responsible for disciplinary measures within the game and they, “Ensure that the international Laws of the Game are applied on the field, and that the rules and regulations concerned with running football in England are observed by officials, clubs and players off the pitch as well as on it." As you may be aware, Dwight Gayle has been charged with ‘Successful Deception of a Match Official’ by the Football Association following Tuesday night’s draw with Nottingham Forest. You can read more about this on West Brom’s website here https://www.wba.co.uk/news/2019/february/gayle-charged-by-the-fa/. Should you wish to further your query please contact The FA via https://help.thefa.com/support/tickets/new. Thank you for contacting the EFL.
