Good Morning. It's Thursday 10th October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

Should Leeds fans be worried about Bielsa contingency plan?

A host of national papers are reporting that Leeds are keeping tabs on Steven Gerrard to succeed Bielsa, should the Argentine leave the club!

His current deal expires at the end of this season so if United do not go up this time around, he is widely expected to leave.

An Elland Road insider has also claimed that had Bielsa left the club in the Summer, Gerrard would be their number one target!

Is this just a contingency plan or do the club know something that we don't?

Ex Leeds Chief Football Writer - Leeds look like living on the edge again this season!

According to Phil Hay, Leeds are happy with their start to the season, so much so that Bielsa has given his players time off over the International break. That will at least give them time to recharge their batteries, ready for the Brum match in nine days time.

What should worry us, is that the ex chief football writer for the YEP has told Leeds fans to expect to be living on the edge, in their pursuit for automatic promotion!

Is there any other way where Leeds are concerned?

Noel Whelan - Struijk - Bielsa has big plans for him

Noel Whelan has been discussing Pascal Struijk, and his chances of breaking into the first team this season. The central defender has caught the eye of the gaffer after standing out for the U23's this season.

At 6 foot 3in, he would certainly provide valuable assistance both defending and attacking set pieces!

“Struijk is highly thought of by Bielsa and his staff, he is one option for the bench. Marcelo Bielsa tends to go for the more experienced players rather than the young ones in defence.

“I would expect to see Luke Ayling move across to centre-back if Ben White or Berard were unavailable. But, then you’re looking at Struijk.

“With the inevitable injuries and suspensions over the winter months, I would expect to see Struijk getting a go at some point. It seems Bielsa has big plans for him.”

No to Ayling at centre back. And Gerrard? No thanks, keep it in house or we go back to having a pack of bang average players if you take away Bielsa ball

    Morning all <ok>

Morning all. If a player is good enough age is immaterial.

Gerard is a slimmer version of Fat Fwank so no experience and is working in a L1 standard league. Absolute bollox to think you can move from a Rolls Royce (Who will leave succession management in place, to a Skoda. Tripe story

Biggest news has been the capture of a Loan coach. You never hear about these guys but most top prem clubs have them and now it seems we are having a scaled down version. Unlike last season when we had 20 players out on loan and 4 players loaned in, this season we only have 7 out and 4 in. But think part of his role will be looking at potential players coming in and potential clubs for sending kids out to who will get coached in a way Leeds Utd want

    Players loaned out

    1. LDB - Sunderland
    2. Nessy - Mansfield
    3. Coyle - Fleetwood
    4. Grot - Dutch league
    5. Cibicki - Dutch league
    6. Balboa - Spanish League
    7. Mujica - Spanish league

Good morning from zakynthos lets throw this out there. Just been watching footage of denis bergamp and his assists for Arsenal. Fast eddie would be a starter for me with a class midfielder to feed him. We are lacking a class player and it shows.
Pascal is not making the team so its a non story.

Morning all, Gerrard wouldn't come if we wanted him, why would he, we can't pay massive wages, at Rangers he's in Europe.

We don't either, Bielsa on £3 million, would be surprised if Gerrard on less at Rangers.

This story deserves some thought because this could well be a way of top paid players putting something back into football. The very thought of a top Barcelona player with a pop star wife wanting to buy Notts County and turning the club into a huge football academy where the best kids can be taught and coached, sounds very much like "Aspire" Academy stuff set up by Ivan Bravo.

this could be a huge story soon because we could well see some struggling league clubs being picked up......

Watched a bit of one of their games the other week, they described him as a fans favourite so think he's doing OK.

Evening all.. If the fans don’t turn on him then we have Bielsa for the entire season. He’s turned a below average squad into promotion favourites, maybe we haven’t a plan B as we only have funds and players who can play plan A

We spent big money or at least promised it on Costa and it’s not working out great, we all thought he’d tear this division to pieces.

I’d love to see what Eddy can do but I fear the amount we’d lose from Bamford could be vital and I agree and know you can’t win games if you don’t score but roll the clock back to Bechio and Ross, even Wood we were nowhere near promotion still and certainly not playing as good a football

He wouldn't come because he wants the Liverpool job, far easier to look good at Rangers in a weak two club league than be tested at a club with real pressure and expectation to get back to the top division (and then go higher). Get's found out here and his real 'dream' job goes. I like to call it "Martin O'Neill" syndrome.
