Good Morning Everyone, Pablo Hernandez will put pen to paper today to commit himself to the club until 2020. Let's not forget that Pablo is already 33. Can we expect the same of him for the next two years? Will it put Leeds in a stronger position over the Summer, drawing potential targets to Elland Road or will it make no difference. The deal is believed to be worth 2m (over the two years). Who got the better deal? Club or player? Wolves fans have been mocking Leeds Utd on social media following Radrizzani's announcement of the pre season tour to Burma. You'll recall that earlier in the season, our Chairman was quite vocal of the way Wolves had conducted their business during the Summer. So to not take the limelight away from himself Radrizzani has decided to write an open letter to Leeds fans explaining his decision: I have spent over 10 years living in Asia and Myanmar is a country I have visited on many occasions. I am aware of the serious issues within the country, but I also know that it is a beautiful place filled with incredibly warm and welcoming people. It is somewhere very close to my heart. I also want to be clear that I am active in the Southeast Asia region with ongoing business practices that provide jobs and help to develop the local sports and media sectors. I have similar goals for Myanmar, along with many other British businesses that trade with and operate in the country presently. Football is extremely popular in Myanmar and I believe the game we all love has the power to help developing nations by bringing people together, especially young people. That is why I wanted to take the team on a post-season tour to play matches and run coaching clinics with children from the area. Lots of Love Rad x
The Norwich City presser is at 11am today. Not known which player will attended with PH. I will post the Norwich match thread this evening UNLESS some kind soul wants to have a go??? Pleeaasseeeee... (I can add the scoreline after)
Wolves have been cleared by the EFL over the issue of their agent, just as we expected. So Radz needs to copy what they did and get some fantastic players in loan. Monk and his management team have been taken to the High Court by Middelsboro. James Beattie, Flavhaven and Co should have been on gardening leave until December this year as per the terms of their contract. They walked and joined Monk and Boro see that as an advantage as they know their players, wages, contracts and the kids can be tapped up.
Pretty thoughtful piece by Phil Hay https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...t-rein-in-director-of-football-role-1-9135198
Morning all. As doc says the way is clear now for Rad to copy the Wolves model. Get cracking now and forget this bullshit post season tour nonsense. Needs to get priorities right imo
£7.7m is the amount Leeds Utd will earn this season for a mid-table finish. Pitiful isn't it compared to the £110m the bottom of the Premier League will get. https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/championship-prize-money-leeds-united-14548856
Good morning Matt & all Pleased Pablo has signed, apart from BPF, O'Connor & Pearce he is our only shining light of late
Yes A big part of the problems of English football in that one stat. And compare that £110m to the gate takings of even the largest championship clubs, which I guess are £20-30m
It is pitiful. However it’s easily solved. Do a Wolves and join them. Not impossible to stay there either. Three promoted teams from last season are all comfortably staying up due to the overpaid dross in bottom half of pl. Decent investment is needed to just stand still these days. Examples Sunderland and possibly Southampton on similar slippery slope. Constantly selling their best for a quick buck. Eventually that model will catch up with you. Main reason we’re stuck where we are. You could probably field two decent pl teams just from players we sold over the last decade. We need to be poaching quality not selling it
Makes me feel sick when I see one of the young players I rated doing well Mind you there’s a lot who sank without trace, too
There are times when a good young prospect let go by a big club can be the difference. I remember Jonjo Shelvey as a kid at Anfield and he broke through to the 1st team squad and put himself about. He was let go by Liverpool and went to Swansea where he played a big part in keeping them in the Prem. He was sold to Newcastle and helped get them promoted and helped keep them in the prem. Think he has been the difference for the bar codes as they aint scoring many, but have a fighting, creative midfielder who can win the ball and spray it around as well as score. Huddlestone similar, so believe thats where we need to concentrate our efforts to bolster our midfield alongside Forshaw
Anyone else now resigned to the fact that it seems Hecky and Orta will still be here theough the Summer and into next season. From being anti PH for a month or so as I fully expected the club to bin him and bring in Big Mick. It now seems he stays? And for some reason Im cool about it. Am I losing interest
I think PH is an average manager, if we spend more on squad he will do better, otherwise he won’t, he won’t overperform So it’s not good but it’s not the prime issue we have which is an apparent inability to spend to compete He’ll be blamed of course
Not afraid to change things around and gave the kids a chance, but not happy there was no new manager bounce, concerned he may not have the team on side.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey I think we have paid a lot to keep Hernandez considering his age PH will get the best out of youngsters but will he get the best out of the dross I don't think so they need binning How come when you see loanees at other clubs doing well why is it Barkley apart we seem to get dross.I loved Izzy Brown when he was at town why can't we get him for next season and young Brooks who is presently at Sheff U instead we get Grimes!
