perfect1.jpg Good Morning. It's Monday 6th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

Nixon - Target set on Freeman and Woodrow

Reliable Sun Journalist (there's a contradiction in term) Alan Nixon has named Sheffield United’s Luke Freeman and Barnsley’s Cauley Woodrow as the players to replace Clarke and Nketiah!

Versatile midfielder / winger Freeman was a Leeds target last Summer, but was snapped up by the newly promoted Blades for a knockdown price of 5m from QPR, where he has racked up over 100 appearances over two years, and 14 goals.

Since his transfer up North, opportunities have been hard to come by! It is believed the Whites will be looking for a loan, before you buy clause, for the 27yo.

Former England U21 forward Cauley Woodrow has hit the ground running since joining Barnsley from Fulham in the Summer of 2018. His impressive displays led the Tykes to make the deal permanent during the following transfer window. He rewarded the Tykes with sixteen goals from 31 appearances. So far this terms, the 25yo hitman has netted nine times in 22.

Would these players be playing second fiddle to Bielsa's favourites?

Will they be happy to join on that basis?

Bielsa was asked this question, and he replied as follows:-

"It's not an easy job," said Bielsa. "One striker that is playing and doing well, he is not going to come to Leeds to play.

"It's difficult, but the reason we have to think well and analyse and also it's true when you don't have ideal options, you have options that are the best options if you regard the possible options.

"We are going to analyse options for him and [Jack] Clarke. We need to analyse the physical level of the players who are coming, if [they are] playing or not.

"[We need to see] if this player fits our style or [if] we need to make some adaptations. We are going to try to make the best decision."

5 stars display from the U23's leave Leeds one point away from leaders Burnley

Leeds U23's destroyed Hull City 5-0 yesterday at Thorp Arch, as Carlos Corberans fledglings stretched their unbeaten run to six games.

Even without the likes of Robbie Gotts and Illan Meslier who are both expected to start this evening against the Gunners in the FA Cup, the Whites were in a league of their own.

Goals from Jenkins, McCarron, McCalmont and a brace from Edmondson not only moved them within a point of leaders Burnley, but now have the best goal difference in the division.

Morning bud been a long weekend without a game. One puzzler for me is how come big Ed never makes the bench for the first team. Surely he should be given a chance at Arsenal being the only striker we have left.

Morning all. As I said elsewhere, my main interest tonight is in Gotts and Meslier. They may be required to play big parts before season end and will be interesting to see how they handle whoever Arsenal decide to put out. On a personal note I hate January’s. Dark wet mornings and a month that seems to stretch for about 40 days

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

if you see Eddie tonight it means he is staying with Arsenal and wont be able to go out on loan again this season.

Lewie Coyle will be sold this month for £500k and if Fleetwood were hoping to get him free they are sadly mistaken. Coyles loan ends this month and his contract runs out in the Summer, but theres lots of interest from him not just from Fleetwood. He has been Fleetwoods best player for a couple of years and has captained the team so Im sure Fleetwood will try and find the money

transfer window blues setting in as stories from everywhere, but we are looking to offload, O'Kane, Grot, Nessy, Cibicki and LDB. Will we send a couple of kids out on loan? Edmondson is obviously not in Bielsas plans so we may see him go out too, but heres a question. If you coach a player to do certain things why would you want him sent out on loan to a manager who will ask him to do something else which may undo everything?

players coming in? The only story that excites me is Freeman and hope that happens. I would love either Tosun or the Aberdeen kid but gone quiet on both counts even though Tosun wasnt in the Everton squad yesterday. Che Adams I watched the other day and to say Im underwhelmed is an understatement as he was garbage and not in the game at all

Good Morning to Matt Doc and co from a dull Bardsey.
Freeman should have been bought in the last window but lets get him here now Woodrow would be a good addition and I noticed he was not playing again yesterday so could be something in this story
Ben Gibson stands out for me as a CB a couple of years ago he was wanted by most clubs but he failed at Burnleybut that does not make him a bad player worth a punt if the price is right

Tonight's game is free hit imo!

A time to blood some of the U23's, just hope we come out of the game with some dignity

A striker/10 and a winger/10 would certainly fit the bill regards replacements. I've liked what little i've seen of freeman, but he's not making a blunts side that might be top half in the prem but are still littered with league 1 players. Haven't seen... or at least noticed much of woodrow, but believe he's well thought of by barnsley fans.

Can't see freeman coming here. Wilder would rather play him in the reserves than do Leeds a favour. I'm with wakey why can't bielsa find a spot for Edmundson surely tonight would be ideal for him.
