Good Morning, It's Monday 3rd June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds get in early to swoop for Chelsea starlet

Leeds are looking to strike early in the transfer window, and have already enquired about Chelsea starlet Alfie Gilchrist.

The versatile 2oyo made 17 appearances for Chelsea last season, including 74 mins against the Whites in the 3-2 FA Cup victory (for Chelsea) at Stamford Bridge. He can play at either centre back, or right wing back, which if reports are true is where Leeds see him next season, allowing Archie Gray to operate more in his preferred midfield role.

The transfer window does not open until the 14th June, but Leeds are desperate to get their business done early. Reports indicate that Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End have also enquired about Gilchrist's availability.

Journo rubbishes Man U links to duo

Reports linking Crysencio Summerville (£25m) and Archie Gray (£35m) with Summer moves to the red side of Manchester have been rubbished by Manchester Evening Post reporter Conor McGilligan.

Discussing the matter on his 'One Leeds Fan Channel', the Sheffield based journalist even laughed off suggestions that given the Gray family heritage in particular, Archie would never go to Old Trafford

How unrealistic is it? Leeds need to raise money, and Manchester Utd are on a recruitment drive this Summer. Given that Summerville and Gray give Leeds the best chance to raise the most amount of Capital, its not surprising they have been the players most linked to moves away from Elland Road this Summer.

Does the rivalry still exist

Leeds and Manchester have shared a mutual hatred for each other ever since the War of the Roses in the 15th Century. This toxicity came to fruition on the terraces of Elland Road and Old Trafford during the 1970, and was revived in the 1990's when the Whites had one of the best squads in Europe.

In recent times, apart from the FA Cup win in 2010, the two clubs have taken completely different paths. To say they are not on the same page is an understatement; we're not even in the same library! During our brief excursion back to the top flight, Leeds conceded 19 goals over six games, picking up just two points against manchester united.

Whilst the hatred runs deep, and always will, are Leeds fans currently kidding themselves by calling it a rivalry. I dream for the day when Leeds can hold their own against the Red Devils, and reignite the same passion, courage and endevour we showed under O'Leary, Wilko and the Don, but until then.....

Cherries to capture third Leeds star

Bournemouth have joined the race to sign Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville according to the back pages of the Sun (so it must be true).

Having already bagged Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams in the past twelve months without too many objections , the Cherries are now keen to relieve Leeds of their Crown Jewells, but they face opposition from heavyweight rivals Liverpool and Chelsea!

Interestingly, many reports value Summerville at £30m - £35m, which considering he only has two years left on his contract would represent great business.

The red devils aren't rivals as such on the pitch, but neither are Chelsea in the present era's.... but you got to have rivalry to create some passion and excitement when perusing the fixtures, even my son in law a season ticket holder at puke Trafford wanted us to win the play offs <doh>...utd v Leeds,Chelsea v Leeds, Scouse v Leeds always something to look forward to :emoticon-0148-yes:....feisty affairs ;)

Morning all

The more clubs that want Summerville the better, let's get a bidding war started, £25m is too cheap though, £35m and we can listen.

Archie we need to keep at all cost, he was good this season, you'd hope he will be better next.

Glichrist sounds a good one on paper

Better not to believe the links. Most of it is rubbish, but we still all check every day to see who we’ve signed <doh>

It makes you wonder what the transfer plan is for this summer. Johnson is the 3rd free agent we've been linked with in 7 days all under the age of 25
At least it’s because they’re refusing new contracts, I remember a time when we’d be looking to sign 31 year old free agents and then that was after they had nobody else interested

Please don't remind me of the summer when we bought all those Pompey players.
