Good Morning. Its Monday 2nd March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Rampant Leeds maul Tigers West Brom saw their lead cut at the top of the Championship to a point as Leeds went rampant at the KCOM Stadium. Bielsa was forced into a late change between the sticks. French U20 International keeper Illan Melierwas handed his league debut as 16 hours previously the FA banned Kiko Casilla for eight games and handed him a £60,000 fine as he may have said something racist to Jonathan Leko last September during the Whites visit to the Valley. Although the FA gave permission for Casilla to play the local derby, it was decided to start the suspension immediately. Whilst I'm sure we all agree that racism has no place within our culture, let alone on the field of play, when you compare that the former Real Madrid man was convicted on probability alone, and compare his punishment to Roy Keane, who committed GBH by ultimately ending Alfe Inge Haaland's career, then bragging about it in his book (earning him millions) telling the World he meant to do it, and it was premeditated. He got a 5 match ban, and a £160,000 fine. It hardly seems fair. The Whites went ahead as early as the 5th minutes as Luke Aylings speculative shot took a wicked deflection leaving Long with no chance. There was no looking back. Due to Leeds being camped in Hull City's half, the Tigers found it difficult to breach the half way line. A combination of fine saves and poor finishing saved Hull's blushes even further as the Whites laid siege on George Longs goal. Hernandez doubled the lead just after half time. Having already rocked the wood work, it was nothing more than he deserved. With two thirds of the game over, Bielsa bought on Tyler Roberts in place of Bamford, who yet again was unable to find the finishing touch. The former West Brom man showed Bamford how its done; firstly from a thunderbolt from 15 yards and his second was a perfectly executed looping header across goal to leave George Long with no chance. How much more time will Bielsa give Bamford? Bielsa's Post Match Interview We're Leeds fans - we'll sit where we want Having sold out their away allocation yet again, hundreds of Leeds fans bought tickets for the home end at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday. This did not go unnoticed by Hull fans or stewards. Sportingly the stewards moved the Leeds fans towards the away end with 4000 Leeds fans singing in chorus 'We're Leeds fans, we'll sit where we want'. The Hull fans did not see the funny side of it, many demanding that the Leeds fans should be ejected from the ground. please log in to view this image No compulsory purchase agreement with Big Kev Phil Hay confirmed over the weekend that Leeds do not have a compulsory purchase clause with Jean Kevin Augustin. The 22yo joined the Whites on loan five weeks ago, and and amassed 49 minutes of game time during that period. The former Chief football writer for the YEP revealed that the Whites do not have a compulsory purchase agreement with Leipzig regarding Big Kev, and if they wanted to sign him, they would need to come up with 17m. please log in to view this image
Good morning. I’d like to confirm I now know that the favourite drink in Hull is bitter, based on their not606 comments this weekend.
Good morning everyone Apart from the 4-0 scoreline, the most satisfying thing to me was being able to watch a striker, well STRIKE i had almost forgotten being a Leeds fan, that long lost art. If Roberts is anything like as sharp as was suggested on Saturday, surely Bielsa will have to re think Bamfords Position. Totally agree about the Fine & ban for Casila, as Elland pointed out,on that deliberate career ending tackle by Kean and the Punishment for it was a joke,if he did that in a pub or on a street corner you would be looking at GBH, and a possible jail term. in my opinion should have been criminally prosecuted, and banned for life from anything to do with football.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey I was so pleased to see a real striker leading the line a once no goals was taken off It invigorated the whole team but next match against Town will we have the same old no goals back again? The young keeper too although I though he looks bewildered at first became more confident and I can see now Kiko not playing for the club again and going back to Spain.I would welcome that and the 32k a week saving,Do we have to pay him when he can't play I wonder perhaps the Doc can come out of hibernation and tell me Well done to Wigan on Sat beating WBA and lets hope Boro beat Forest tonight they sure need the points
Morning all. Just shows the value of scoring first for Leeds. Game looked almost over after five minutes. Could do with Forest dropping points tonight. As regards Kiko, its done and dusted, no amount of banging on about it will change it. Tend to agree with 60, he's bang average and for 32k a week we can surely get better. Oops forgot, it'll be Orta doing the scouting. Actually, Id like to see Orta move on and would save a lot more than 32k a week I suspect. As for Roberts finishes v Bamford, Im not going to even bother commenting. Even saw comments on Saturday from a few stating watch how Leeds game drops now when Bamford was replaced. Yeah, right Btw our third goal saturday was one of the best I’ve seen in recent years. Fabulous team goal
have heard all the arguments how well no goals works the line well we don't need a linesman we neeed a leader and missing chance after chance must make the team jittery. If we get promotion it will be despite him rather than we did it with his help .Think about it we should have been 10 more points infront if he could only score How do you sell him when he has no value ?
Morning all! Great win at the weekend, and really good to see a striker scoring goals. Will this make Bielsa drop Bamford? I doubt it, but hoping it will at least start him thinking that it may be time for a change. Some really good goals at the weekend too, its such a shame that Pablo's shot hit the woodwork, as that would have been a spectacular goal! The next game against 'Udders should be a good win in my book. MOT! Lets keep this run going now until the end of the season!
I think the Udders game will be a tough one, its their cup final they've had a couple of good results and theyll be fired up for the game.
Agree and they scored 4 at the weekend too. Think we cant get carried away. Three of our last four wins have been against the bottom three form teams in the division so definitely harder games ahead
Exactly Eire, great win that it was on Saturday against the inbreds im not getting carried away, the Wigan home game last season still rankles me, we do have a habit of making things difficult for ourselves
I'm not getting carried away, but just been positive for a change! I agree it will be a harder game at the weekend, but we are playing them at home, so there is definitely an advantage there IMO. As long as they dont go into this game with any complacency, then I can see us grinding out a good result.
Don't be fooled by Huddersfield scoring 4, the last two were in the 90th and 94th minutes. Charlton had given them a run for their money up to then. The fact is Leeds can beat any team in this division on their day, and sometimes even when it's not their day.
Apologies, I wasn't trying to rub it in. A lot of supporters had trouble unfortunately. Wait till we're trying to get tickets for the last game of the season.
