Good Morning. It's Monday 20th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Flattering but we'll take it

Leeds United reclaimed their spot at the top of the Championship table with a convincing 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Leeds couldn't have asked for a better start, opening the scoring within the first three minutes. A pinpoint through ball from Joel Rothwell sliced open the Wednesday defence, sending Aaronson racing clear. While Wednesday goalkeeper James Beadle reached the ball first, he failed to collect it, instead it parried kindly to the feet of Solomon, who took a touch before hammering home from six yards.

This early goal provided a much-needed boost for the Leeds players, settling their nerves after several below-par performances. Daniel Farke's outfit were by far the better side, but failed to take advantage until two minutes from normal time when Ramazani, an 83rd minute substitute turned on the magic, dancing his way through a sea of orange before finding the back of the net.

Ao Tanaka grabbed Leeds third at the death, cheekily back heeling Ramazani's on target strike from the edge of the area, instigated from a well executed corner.

Does Ramazani hold the key to unlock defences

Despite the convincing scoreline, yesterday's performance left much to be desired. Notwithstanding their current status, at the top of the Championship, it's hard not to wonder how the game would have unfolded if they hadn't been handed an early goal.

Since their win against Stoke on Boxing Day, Farke's side have struggled to find their rhythm, looking far from the champions they aspire to be. However, one players performance could provide the shot in the arm Leeds need to regain their momentum.

Largie Ramazani's brief appearance on the field was a breath of fresh air, and he seems ready to take on a starting role, perhaps against Norwich in the upcoming match. With Brenden Aaronson sustaining a knee injury, it leaves the door ajar for Largie Ramazani to potentially claim the playmaker position.

Aaronson's seven goals and two assists haven't gone unnoticed, but he hasn't come close to filling the void left by Georginio Rutter; begging the question would a fully fit Ramazani do any better? As the transfer window ticks down, it's looking more unlikely that Leeds are going to bring new faces in, prompting murmurs that the former Manchester Utd forward may hold the key to unlocking opposition defences!

Morning all. Don't play Ramazini any more until February otherwise someone will spot him and buy him this month

Farke is right using Largie as an impact sub... he fades in games when starting (maybe he wouldn't if he was played more, but that's my take from watching him thus far.)

Aaronson can be annoying as he runs into rabbit holes and holds on to the ball too long. But he's constantly running and stretching teams, a real nusiance with his pressing off the ball, helping us win back possession. Rutter was more of a fan's player, Aaronson more of a coaches player. I'd like to see a Hamer type 10 as competition/rotation for Aaronson but people should look at his stats and get off his back.

As for the result, we've played better without winning this season. We're due a mediocre performance where we win by a few. Sheffield United have done it all season. Form will ebb and flow, grinding out results on average days is what will get us up.

    Good morning everyone
Great result, which helped make my weekend, however if we are promoted, it will be extremely tough, possibly even tougher than our last stint, as clubs like Forrest, Fulham, Brighton, Bournemouth, Palace etc, who you would be looking to get points from are no pushovers, we would have to look to gradually build a new side and target just survival for the first couple of seasons or so, and then hopefully we will be ready for a top half finish. But lets get promoted first, before we worry about that.

    Morning all

It wasn't pretty on Sunday but we got the job done and although 3-0 was flattering a win was still deserved. I was relieved Meslier kept a clean sheet to take a bit of pressure off.

Aaronson injured is a bit of a concern, I would guess we might play Gnonto as a 10 I just hope Farke doesn't make the same mistake again by playing Piroe there. Maybe Tanaka could do the job, if we do get Beundia on loan I hope he has kept himself fit

I don't thin Aaronson is as aware as some other players. He rarely looks up.

Funny old world isn’t it. Not long ago Aaronson was a rat that should **** off out of the club, now there’s a concern that he might be injured.
Afternoon all by the way <cheers>

I think Aaronsons 'extra touches' are often there because no-one has made themselves available for a pass. Mind you, there were there for Largie to pass to but he went for it.

So for all of you saying squad is big enough etc, new signings wouldn't improve it blah blah, we now have Struyk out likely AAronsson out and Soloman having a hamstring assessed. Couple of games can leave four or five unavailable

Twice yesterday he broke the press (once in the first half and again in the second) with runners either side of him but ran into a tackle. The pass was probably the easier option in both cases and would, almost certainly have seen us clean through. I think he is reasonably good overall but this trait along with his lack of natural body strength are really frustrating at times!!!

I think it’s more a case of who is available.

The majority of PL loans will have an expected to play clause or why send them

Signings are going to be scarce, nobody challenging is going to sell to a rival, those moving from a PL team won’t be affordable on wages or willing to drop a division or worse still, simply not good enough for the PL

Looking at who our rivals have signed so far, none would get into our starting squad

I saw today that we might be getting a £10m bonus from the Raphinha sale, apparently it will be due if Barca win the Champions league. The £55m we got may have seemed like a good price but this season Raphinha is the Barca Captain and has 20 goals and 11 assists from 28 games.
    They got him cheap.

Doesn’t necessarily have to a player from the PL though. Quality at a much cheaper price is available from abroad.

Tanaka has been a revelation and Gnonto not too shabby either. And neither signing broke the bank.

it's all if's and maybe's aint it. I'm just glad I'm not the Manager its up to him if we stick or twist. Personally think the Jan window should be scraped everyone should do their business in the summer and maybe make it a loan window only for Jan.
