Good Morning. It's Monday 7th October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Lady luck deserts Leeds yet again Leeds slipped down to 5th place at the weekend having for the third time in six games; this time to Millwall. Once again, lady luck deserted the Whites as early as the 15 minute mark. The Lions were awarded a hot disputed penalty which saw Berardi receive his marching orders for the seventh time in his Elland Road career. Courtesy of ELLuTV, we can see the penalty decision, close up, and in slo-mo. Did Berardi tug at the forwards shirt before he went to ground? Did their feet get tangled up? Did the forward blatantly dive without ANY contact? One thing I noticed as the player went to ground was that Phillips had caught up with play and therefor Berardi was NOT the last defender, but did the Leeds No 28 stop an 'obvious goal scoring opportunity? Is Berardi too much of a liability? Who'd like to see Struijk given an opportunity alongside White? please log in to view this image Is it time to press the panic button? If you kept making the same mistake time and time again at work, what would happen? You'd probably lose your job! Why on Earth does Bielsa NOT learn by his mistakes? He has ONE style of football, and he'll play the same team, week in, week out. Surely, this must give the opposition a massive advantage over us and will set up shop accordingly! When was the last time, if ever that Bielsa has made a tactical change to the starting line up, and if he hasn't, surely that's poor? Does this give Leeds any advantage at all? We are 5th in the table on 20 points. If we had one point less, we could be in 9th place! Costa on the other hand looked lightweight and out of sorts. How he lasted 45 minutes is anyone's guess? please log in to view this image If you were Nketiah...... Bamford's dry spell in front of goal now extends to six games. With a quarter of the season concluded and Nketiah yet to start, I wouldn't blame the lad if he wanted to return to the Emirates in January. He'd actually get more game time for their first team than he would for Leeds. The England U21 International has scored 23 times for England in 27 appearances yet Bielsa refuses to change his tactics to allow the young starlet a start. please log in to view this image
Morning all.. The penalty, Berardi was putting his hands up in innocence before the player touched the ground, worse case scenario accidental. I have a feeling Berardi got the faintest of touches, our players would have done the same. I’m very disappointed that neither Izzy last season or Costa this season have lived up to expectations. Not time to panic yet and with the players we have and no vast transfer budget and limited funds, there isn’t a coach I’d take in the world ahead of Bielsa at the moment.
Morning all. Will be very brief, not a Barardi fan but on this occassion I think he got the rough end of the stick not a penalty not a sending off. If we don't appeal the red card then we deserve all that we get. Costa not worth 15mil on his performance Saturday, just did not look that interested to me. Defo a time for a plan B. We can sit here until the cows come home but without a recognised and prolific goal scorer we are going nowhere. And whose fault is that. I have to admit to loosing some of my faith in Bielsa too much same old same old.
The penalty in my opinion not a penalty. Beradi may have touched him but not enough to warrant him going down. If you watch, if he made contact with a foot it would have meant he would have gone down with the other leg. He takes a stride and goes down based on him hitting the other foot. Either way not a red given phillps position. He could of blocked a shot. Didn't see the first half. so cant comment on Costa.
Totally agree with all this. I do not rate bielsa at all in this league. Good morning from a raint zante. Kalimera
Didn’t see the game, just the highlights. Costa got caught for the 2nd goal and apparently was ineffectual. If Klich had a bad game fair enough, but he was comfortably our best player at Charlton a week earlier. I’m not a fan of social media player baiting. Re the penalty. It’s so hard to tell if he got a clip that knocked his balance or gave him the opportunity to dive. Two things... one Berardi was behind him, so he couldn’t have seen how close to contact he was... so he would have to guess if it was a pure dive. The other thing, is players generally go crazy if an opponent has dived for a penalty. Berardi didn’t. Makes me think he probably got a slight touch.
Not a red card if Phillips was the last man which he was please log in to view this image scum-loving ref should have only produced a yellow in that scenario
Morning all Starting to lose my faith in Bielsa as well.I'm sorry I understand that he's been our best coach in years but people with a lot less experience in management are figuring us out. I get he's meant to be the coach's coach but how far down are we expected to be before people see sense and call for his head. I said this last week but if I was Eddie I'd be considering my options as there will be a few clubs keeping tabs on the situation and might make a cheeky bid in the summer if things don't improve for him.
Good morning all No doubt about it, it was a dive, but any striker given the opportunity will to go for the penalty these days, some will be awarded and some won't, but defo not a sending off offence with Phillips positioning. But let's admit it,it was one of our worst performances that i have seen for an age, but hey ho let's move on to the more worrying reason why were even debating this, were so bloody predictable, up until recently other teams have been taken by surprise at our high pressing game, and we have given what was beginning to look like a David copperfield illusion of a world beating team. However other smart managers have learned how to look behind the distracting scenery, and seeing how the Illusion is constructed, and by parking the bus and conceding a lot of worthless possession (which still makes our stats look good) they can hit us on the break because after approx 75 min we look dead on our feet, and devoid of any ideas with all that headless chicken stuff, it only takes one chance for them with a semi decent striker and bam 1-0 (if only they had Bamford as their striker) it's happening more frequently now,we really do need to start changing our tactics before it get's to late as were now on a slide for a promotion challenging season. What worries me is can we do any better with what we have got, that is the big question, but we have to at least try with Nketia and some of our impressive u'23s,then if we fail we can hold our hands up and say we did our best. C'MON mr Bielsa, for it's time to surprise us and all the other teams again. MOT
Whenever we attack, the opposition, whoever it is get 10 men behind the ball. I understand that playing two forwards may interfere with our possession, but it will create an entire nightmare for any defence .
Bielsa is the consummate professional. Even after getting screwed over, Bielsa refused to criticise the ref. Imagine if that had happened to Fergie. The ref would have woken up next to a horses head. The next time, the ref is going to think twice before blowing his whistle!
I get this feeling that coaches, etc, etc, feel the need to play a European style of football with one up front and five in midfield. We're watching more 'foreign influences' creeping in to the English game. It's a trend and honestly understand it. The next problem is that Bielsa has come from European football and is very stubborn so he won't change out of this European Mindset. There needs to be a change in English football's mindset and go back to 2 up front or even or even a Xmas tree type foundation that Venables used. The best sides I've seen had more than one striker up front.
Right so not a penalty not a card so in otherwords he dived, over to you EFL. EFL in this case stands for English Fu--up League
The cheating scum refs are not above criticism the ****ers, the next time this **** refs our game the whole stadium need to let the cheating bastard know hes a bent ****, im ****ing sick of'em Rant ****ing over
