Good Morning Everyone Rotherham will join Wigan and Blackburn back in the Championship next season. They beat Shrewsbury in the final yesterday 2-1 in extra time. Is this the first time that the 3 clubs that are relegated the season before, all get promoted the next season? Do we think these clubs will struggle next season? Liverpool keeper Karius has been receiving death theats from the Liverpool fans! Understandable or absolutely insane? It is widely reported that Heckingbottom will be gone by the end of the week. Have Leeds left it too late?
Morn Morning All, The few times i watched Wigan in the cup they looked a decent side, doing it at an higher level week in week out is a different matter though. Still see them around 10th-12th Blackburn 14th or so and Rotherham being one of the bottom 4 or 5. Absolutely insane, I do wonder if they are Liverpool fans or other clubs fans parading as so. I know they live by Shankly's quote but there is far more to life than football. Anyone who has done this really need to hang their heads in shame. Disgraceful . Not too late at all, no signings made yet but if they are to do it then it needs to be done soon, before other clubs snap up any targets the new man wants, of course that is, if he gets a say.
Morning all and happy sunny day off. Victimpool are a disgrace to football even though the media love to portray them as passionate and knowledgeable. Passionate yes and to be fair vast majority are all that is great about being a footy fan, but come on folks Hysel and they were part of the problem getting us banned from European footy. Hillsborough and all the years to sort it out and even now there's a hard core wanting to carry that fight on and on and on. Feel for the keeper but the way he was blanked by all the players was a disgrace and if in these days of so called mental health, if this guy had topped himself it wouldn't have surprised me. The scousers should be ashamed and I wish we had Karius instead of Felix ffs Oh and by the way I was in Istanbul for that final and watched half the scousers leave the stadium at half time making it a surreal atmosphere, then saw everyone who had walked out pretend they were there for the greatest final ever yada yada yada. Phil Hay has gone on holiday but left a couple of tweets that the media have picked up and ran off with. Phil says he has heard that Hecky's job isnt resolved yet and the meetings he had with the board were not sorted and resolved? Phil also says that he has heard the story of ranieri but is convinced there is a different overseas coach being discussed. Bookies closed the book on Ranieri until this came out and Inzaghi is now back in the frame. I ignored a few on here who said they had heard hecky was for the chop because it didnt seem probable with him not getting sacked before going on holiday? If we do bin Hecky and Inzaghi comes in, will he be as good as Wolves overseas manager or Fulhams overseas manager, or should we have gone for a Big Mick, Moyes, Big Sam type proven manager.
Does it matter what manager you have will still be the same system and it doesn't look like youre gonna shift much of the dross you already have does it
Morning all back off holiday and in posetion of davys ray bans.he left them in a bar we were in and my mate gave me them on way to the airport.first meet up i will return them .then again it would be cheaper for me to post them. I start work this aft so hoping for an easy one.new manager ? what about some signings.
Good afternoon Matt & All Wigan & Blackburn will be competitive without pulling any trees up, can't see the Millers doing well though Liverpool keeper Karius has been receiving death theats from the Liverpool fans! Understandable or absolutely insane? It is widely reported that Heckingbottom will be gone by the end of the week. Have Leeds left it too late?[/QUOTE]
Not too late yet but we can't afford to allow this situation to drag along if we are to change the coach position, imperative we bring in the right man !
Pleasure to grab a beer with you again Wakey, I'm sure the weather will hold till you get back in June. Had to buy some new shades.
Good afternoon from a very warm Cote de Bardsey Claudio oh Claudio wherefore are you Claudio is he coming or not and will he bring Huth with him We are certainly going to get a new manager and no we have not left it too late Writng for PH was on the wall when we didn't sign Yiadom Now lets get some real quality Marriot Lansbury Huth and young Gavin Whyteplus Angus Gun
Afternoon all I think it would be madness to persist with heck or give him a say in transfers. Clearly out of his league and is another manager on paper in my opinion.
Difficult one with Heckinbottom. If we get rid, buy players, results improve, how do we know it's down to the new manager and Hecky couldn't have achieved the same with backing? If a new manager comes in and results don't improve, we've screwed up again good & proper and wasted time & money bringing him in then getting rid. Gut feeling is they will start the new season with Hecky, but with new players chosen by others, and a clear warning that he needs to hit the ground running.
For me, the club are handling this very badly. Either get on and bring in the new coach / manager or issue a statement backing Heck and put a stop to all these rumours.
Think that's the truth of why he's not been sacked yet as no transfers can be done and no pre-season done yet but I think they're basically waiting for a seamless transistion and want the right choice and waiting for them to be confirmed (whether it will be the right choice will be debatable - until the season shows us whether we start off rubbish and get better or start off great and then get found out or whether we have finally have that season where start to get towards to the top earlyish on and then stay there for the season but with a late on wobble where the team behind throw everything catching up and the the moment they finally do get above they wobble and drop back...) And for me it's not about stability if it was then Thomas should have just seen out the season and then assessed what he'd learned from the season and whether he was the right man to use that experience for next season. But with Heckingbottom he should have got better results or at least maintained results/improved performances and he knew that radz wanted a play off push so he took the job on that basis. So for me as he failed the test it comes down to is there a better manager out there and clearly I think there are several so if we hire one of those it will be the correct decision. In terms of The Heck costing us 500 grand I think we can suck that up by him playing BPF and Pearce when there's a good chance that Pearce would be released and BPF after his disastrous York loan would have been though too risky. So we paid for these discoveries and now move on wards and hopefully upwards
Pretty much sums up where I am because we never got the usual new manager bounce. We had a manager who started off on fire playing some great football and took us top of the league. he was so inexperienced though that he didnt know what to do when results went bad. he was like a rabbit in the headlights and got sacked when we were in 8th place only 6 points from top 6 with a 3rd of the season to go. Hecky came in and went from bad to badder to bomb and finished 13th wit some shocking tactics and performances and a look that said we are not playing for you because you are an idiot. If it turns out that Radz bottles it due to image and we keep hecky then he gets my support until it becomes obvious he cant do it. The caliber of a good manager is to s the traits of all his players and use them properly (Didnt see any of that) laudrup is now being mentioned as he has just left Al Rayyon and I do believe that Orta has a relationship with that club and Laudrup. Ranieri is a no hoper and he couldnt do it at this level as it was Pearson who got the foxes promotion and tinkerman played tunes with them. Inzaghi interesting one
I don't really blame Hecky, more Radz / Orta, he was never going to turn down the chance to manage Leeds (Barnsley were going anyway) but is was those at the top that chose a 4-4-2 man when the whole club was set up play either 4-2-3-1 / 4-5-1. Heck's problem was trying to play his way without the players that could do it.
