Good Morning Everyone Leeds moved up to third place, a point behind Boro, and three points behind the Canaries (albeit Leeds have the best goal difference in the Championship with +14). Second half goals from Roofe and Hernandez put the matter beyond doubt, but not before City midfielder Josh Brownhill was sent for an early bath for a second bookable offence. Interestingly, Robins Manager Lee Johnson believed City were on course to cause an upset until Brownhill got sent off:- "They got away with it, we were the side who looked like we were going on to win the game until the red card, "The referee took the easy decision in front of a big crowd. The referee wants to run the show these days. "There were decisions that we didn't get but I don't care about the refs because they do it to us every week. We have had some poor refs the last few weeks." And when your luck's in your luck's in - and I think that showed today. Let's have a look at the stats! Stan Collymore has slammed Leeds United and a number of other Championship clubs, for their opposition to the new Sky deal, and labelled the division as a ‘second-rate product’. Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Collymore was quoted as saying:- "I'm mildly disgusted at my club Aston Villa, as well as Derby, Leeds and all those who feel they were owed a better TV deal than the £595million, five-year package agreed between the EFL and Sky Half-a-billion pounds for a second, third and fourth-rate product is obscene, but that's football, it is mad. "What the clubs, who are demanding more, are essentially saying is that they should better rewarded for failure, which is being in the second tier. Leeds MD Angus Kinnear confirmed in his programme notes ahead of Saturday’s win against Bristol City at Elland Road that the club will bring in a new keeper to replace Jamal Blackman very early in the January transfer window.
Good morning Matt & all Sour grapes from Lee Johnson Brownhill had already been booked for chopping down Alioski on the edge of their box, the second challenge was an awful tackle on Roofe, Johnson should be laying into Brownhill for his indiscretions not the referee. I see the Bristol City fans believe Johnson is making excuses after every game as his tenure at Ashton Gate becomes more perilous with each defeat
Morning all... I looked at the stats before the sending off and they hadn’t had a shot on target when I looked. In the past we’ve struggled when teams have gone down to 10 and parked them behind the ball but not this time.
Morning all. Expect no action to be taken against Johnson for comments about the officials. Jannson to be hit by a lengthy ban for being Swedish.
Morning all Firstly Lee Johnson cnut Secondly Collymore cnut dogger woman beater. Let me tell Collymore why there are 19 big Championship clubs who feel ripped off. Firstly rewarding failure is all about WBA as an example who received £115m for media coverage last season and they were relegated. They were not on tv as much as Leeds because they are not a big draw like we are. We recieved £7.5m for being on telly. Anyone who thinks this is fair needs to look at every other industry where you get rewarded because of the number of times you are on telly. BBC call it star appeal. So if we are on telly more than every club in the prem except 4 we should surely get paid a lot more, even if that's in image rights. Leeds Utd are being used to attract viewers because the majority of prem teams do not get the audience numbers. I would watch Villa V Leeds any day of the week before I would bother with Burnley v Brighton. And to carry on the theme of rewarding failure lets look at WBA again as they recieve £60m in parachute payments, fair? Be interesting to see which type of keeper we go for in January as we could get Heaton who has said he would love to come, but has Orta got an unknown overseas candidate? if he has he needs to be better than Felix
Some positives out of that first half performance against Bristol were the 2 kids. Both had a couple of shaky moments but both then buckled down and coped really well. Huffer looks to be a great prospect and Halme not yet ready to replace Pontus but by next season will be replacing Cooper, a great prospect. You can see now why Bielsa says he doesn't need another CB. Bielsa can pull a CB off and play a different formation plus he has the likes of Ayling and berardi to come back along with Halme and Diaz as 2 very promising talents coming through. Liam Kitching is doing a fantastic job out on loan for a second season and expecting him back in January which will allow halme and Diaz to be promoted.
Is that the team doing their best to get into the championship? Employ a crap manager and you get what you asked for.
That crap manager got us up - unfortunately that crap manager could also take us down. If we do come down, see you next season because you wont be going up.
