Morning SW, great points, we need to make sure we don't lose against the Wendies. Last term, we would lose 4 or 5 on the bounce. Lets hope this is a blip.
Got to agree we broke too slowly, looked really similar to last season, too many passes across the back and short into Midfield to get any momentum and the missing triangles. Can’t say I thought they looked quick on the break, just think the two early goals left a few of our players not knowing whether to stick or twist. Morning by the way
Monk received a fair bit of stick, after the disgrace he orchestrated he deserves stick now! As I say the football authorities could stop that type of cheating by continuing play when players go down injured who generally make a remarkable recovery & are running round like a dog with a ball after pathetically rolling around. Injured players wouldn't go down so easy & feign injury if they knew it wasn't to their advantage. Deliberately halting play is disrupting the flow of a game & also cheating the fans. Brum players were obviously under orders from Monk who has gone way down in my estimation, I really hope the Tractor boys wipe that smirk off his face come 5pm on Saturday.
I remember Jim Storrie hobbling around with his leg hanging off v Liverpool in the 1965 cup final Proper men then, not big girls blouses we witness so often these days
In a serialisation in the Times of extracts from Keegan’s book, the former England and Newcastle United manager describes a transfer deal that took place when Dennis Wise was manager at Elland Road a decade ago. Explaining how Newcastle signed players they knew to be wholly inadequate behind his back, Keegan cited how former St James’ Park director of football Wise also sanctioned similar agreements at Leeds. “Wise’s argument was that it was not out of the ordinary for these kinds of deals to happen in football, referring to them as “commercials”, and telling a story about his time at Leeds to illustrate his point,” Keegan wrote, as serialised in the Times. “According to Dennis, the Leeds chairman, Ken Bates, approached him to suggest they offer a boy of 17 a professional contract. The boy wasn’t good enough to be a footballer but that, plainly, was not the most important detail as far as Leeds were concerned. The boy’s father had a successful business and a lucrative deal had been arranged for that company to sponsor Leeds — on condition they signed the boss’s son. “The boy was never named. Yet Wise made it clear he was happy to go along with this sham. “I said to Ken, ‘He won’t play in the first team, he won’t play in the reserves, is that OK?’ And he said, ‘OK.’ It wasn’t explained to the boy. His dad didn’t tell him. And I didn’t think it was my responsibility either.”
Anyone in football who thinks that robbing bastard criminal Bates was good for football needs to fk right off. I include the FA who employed him in that too. he brought the whole of English/Wales football into disrepute and should have been prosecuted and kicked out instead of doing whatever he fancied. Wise was a dwarf and would love to see him in a dwarf throwing event
I never trusted either of them at Leeds United and now we know what a pair of dishonest twats and anti Leeds United feckers they were.
Same could be said about Neil Warnock, the man who (allegedly) signs players, gives them extra wages and bonuses, then makes sure he gets his cut! What about O'Leary and his very dodgy (allegedly) dealings with football agents costing the clubs millions of unnecessary commission!!! Also recall DOL (allegedly hiring a crooked football agent to act as translator when Decourt signed costing the club a massive amount) Decourt spoke perfect English
Warnock is a Leeds United hater too. But I was only replying to Docs quote. Don't think O'L eary was anti Leeds United, he played for us as well. Don't know of his dealings to have an opinion. FFS Clough hated us and see what happened to him. If Clough had come in with a different attitude he may have made the club a success.
Yes footy is still bent as can be seen at Villa Park 10 minutes ago. Jack Grealish just signed a new 5 year contract????? This is called engineering a move with the cooperation of the club.
good afternoon i paid for my weekend sins today and was called in at one am this morning to do shops with a drivers mate. i was talking with the guys after the game up the peacock and some said they would take one defeat every nine games.so i worked it out having played one fifth of our games and one to spare.we would end up with ninety points and a goal difference of plus sixty (yeah i know that's wrong but i'm crap at this kind of stuff).but the ninety points are achievable at our average so far of two points a game.the extra game we will have left could be the clincher .
