    Good Morning Everyone

Leeds left the University of Bolton Stadium with 3 very valuable points in the bag, returning to the Summit of the Championship in the process.

A peach of a goal from Bamford with 23 minutes left on the clock was the difference between the two sides.

Give Bolton their dues, they gave it absolutely everything, but it seems Leeds have learnt how to win ugly.

Did Roofe look tired to you?

Does Bamford deserve to start against Villa?

    Did Bolton deserve a penalty?

Saiz will undergo his medical this morning with Getafe.

I'm sorry but there is more to this one than meets the eye!

Apparently Getafe are potless, yet they sit 5th in the La Liga table just behind the likes of Barcelona, Athletico and Real Madrid.

If depression, surely the pressure of playing for a top 6, top flight club would not be good for him?

Why are Leeds paying his salary during his 6 month loan?

This is what really angers me about the Saiz deal. You'll see two tweets below from the verified account of David Cartlidge, the editor of ESPN.

You'll notice the tweets were sent on the 13th December. Please note, if these were sent on the 13th, then they probably occurred a day or two previously!

It indicates not only had the deal more or less been tied up by this point, but the Leeds fans were still being drip fed spin about how Saiz can not keep his weight down or how Saiz' is finding it difficult to keep his fat FMI down to lower than 10%

    David Cartlidge Dec 13
Ángel Torres, president of Getafe, saying that a player will take a medical at the club next week and could also be present at their game on Saturday. Didn’t name him, but that player is expected to be Samu Sáiz from Leeds.

    David Cartlidge Dec 13
Torres said some players at Getafe already know who it is, but he couldn’t name the player tonight as “it would anger the English team”. Sáiz would arrive as a loan, with option to buy.

According to various sources, Leeds are lining up a bid for Sheffield Wednesday's Adam Reach.

You'll recall the the winger / forward scored an absolute screamer against us earlier in the season!

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Saiz: I don't think there's a conspiracy I just think that things in his private life have come back and is hurting him badly and has effected his health. He is no longer an asset on the pitch and at TA as his mood will hurt the camp. One of his babies dying and a cancer scare for his wife isnt easy to deal with and then the wife getting preagnant again and melting down with worry ...... I think the club have looked at how they dealt with Grot last season and realised they were the problem and are now dealing with it in a better way. The so-called agreement with Getafe gives us nothing right now except they pay his wages, but we don't get a loan fee. They will be obliged to pay us £6m in the Summer which is double what we paid and a high fee for Spain. If we had transferred him in this country we would have got around £12m, but getting the £6m is a decent return but just a bit crap that we lose him and not get anything until next year.

The U23s are in action again today and we may see Berardi and Ayling have a run out

Not so sure about private things coming back on him Doc, if it's affecting his health at Leeds, it will affect his health at Getafe and he'll gain nothing from the loan move.

However, I agree the death of his baby, and the cancer scare to his wife can be worrying, as well as play on his mind. I don't think it's depression, when he's come on as a sub he hasn't been playing like someone suffering depression.

His wife getting pregnant again can be worrying that they may lose that one too, however, moving back to Spain ain't going to cure that worry, nor is it a guarantee the baby will be born healthy.

I'll speculate, what's been happening in his private life has indeed affected his playing ability, and he needs a rest away from Leeds. It's possible the 6 month loan deal has also given him the option of returning if, and when we get promoted, a decision that will obviously be left up to Saiz. 6 months down track, and an opportunity to play in Premiership is going to give him a bit to think about once everything settles down and his mind is back to normal.

Saiz thinking about his family first, I'll all for it, but it looks to me not everything has been revealed......:emoticon-0148-yes:

    Morning all..

In regards to Saiz the YEP reported we are paying his wages still, Getafe are so broke they can’t pay anything towards them.

We need to strengthen in January, Cibicki must have been back what, 3 weeks now and he would have been match fit yet I don’t believe he features in the future plans of Bielsa in fact the YEP reported he is already being offered out to other clubs.

We need to cut some dead wood and if these loaned out players are not good enough let’s hope we can shift some on as no fee for Saiz and still paying his wages is going to hurt us.

Good Morning to Matt and co from a cold Bardey
the Saiz debarcle confuses me why pay his wages why let him go for free surely we could have sold him to a Spanish club who would pay his wages. In the meantime we pay him 17k a week what has he sacrificed nothing. It seems to me all too one sided
We have learned to win the hard way and I for one would play Bamford at Villa on Sunday rest Alioski and get rid of Baker in other words send him back that will free up wages
Talking of Villa who have improved under Dean Smith Grealish will not be playing as he is injured
So pleased that Liverpool won well yesterday
Finally how much would Reach cost he sure has goals in him!

I thought the YEP piece mentioned no loan fee but covering wages?

Cibicki was invited back but looks like he is being offloaded in a transfer and he could be sold to an MLS team or a club in Germany or a club in Holland and Molde' also want to buy him after his performances for them this season. But deffo looks like he will never play for Leeds again

Reach is a good footballer irrespective of his capacity for screamers. I guess he’s a like4like with alioski, better with the ball, more reliable crosser, probably not as good defensively/work rate. Lacks the ‘running at people’ capacity that I feel we lack (Clarke excepted).

That said, can’t see it... where would the money be coming from?!

Not a penalty. The guy stepped across Phillips and if anything tripped him up.

The first 10 minutes Saturday we were a different class to Bolton, then for whatever reason it all went a bit haywire to say the least, the slick passing, the movement, turned into too many stray passes and no one finding any room, Bolton did give it their all but I think our inabilities on the day gave them the lift they needed. I'm over the moon we can win ugly now, 3 of the latest 5 wins haven't been pretty but I honestly don't care, the fact we have ground out the win is brilliant, even when manure were dominating the Premiership, they had that side to their game, people always associated them with good passing and dominating teams but it wasn't always the case, there was many games they had to dig deep and rely on long balls from Beckham.

It was just one of those days for Roofe, he didn't get much service and the few times he got the ball he couldn't hold on to it, there's no way he'd have put the Bamford goal away, as it wasn't his day, great substitute by Biesla. But Roofe has to start against Villa, my concern Sunday is Phillips playing along side Pontus, he doesn't look comfortable and it weakens the midfield imo.

Not a penalty, agree with Milky's post above.

Reach will just be one of many rumours between now and Jan 31st. I'm going to ignore them all and just wait and see who, if anyone signs.

The article I read definitely said we’re receiving no loan fee and covering wages. It was via NewsNow who quoted the YEP as the source, either way not having the cash now in a sale is a little crippling for January.

I read today that we turned down a £9m bid for him in the summer so what’s changed his mind about being here in the last 5 months...

Apparently Orta and Rads allowed Bielsa the final say and Bielsa didn’t want a player who didn’t want to be here so I’m personally ruling out mental health issues and the club doing what’s right. Bielsa not wanting a disruptive influence “seems” the most likely reason.

It was an ugly win at Bolton, but the 3pts were very important for us, but we do need to put teams away more decisive than how we did on Saturday. We need to be more creative as i mentioned on Saturday.

Never a penalty, watched it many times and maybe should of been given a yellow card for going down like he did.

If Grealish is injured then thats a massive bonus for us, he is the engine room for villa and starts many attack for them, he runs at defences with the ball and gets many free kicks in dangerous positions.

Saiz!! wants away, thats fine by me, i did mention after the Newport game that a player of mine would have been shown the door straight after the spitting incident, no player is bigger than the club, move on and upwards as we are doing.

Will try and find out for deffo but my understanding is that both are here until the end of the season. There can sometimes be a clause in the contract regarding playing a specific % or number if games and if the target number/% not reached by .... the deal can be voided. I hear that both players are popular members of the group and contribute in training, but seem to struggle in front of our fans. Both their parent clubs will have a liaison officer who attends some matches and training sessions and can if invited by us to speak to the players. Wonder if Pep would speak to Harrison? Harrison in the last 2 U23 games has been awesome, lets eee what happens today against Barnsley. I do agree though that we need loan players who are better or at least live up to their billing

wow I'm sensing deja vu here, I'm sure I've been reading the same questions from the same posters about the same subject for 4 days. Why not try speculating about the answers yourselves instead of just dismissing the opinions that have been given.

    A) (Doc, i'm sure you will love this, but I'm not being serious about the suggestion ) - Orta is such a crap DoF, that this is the best that he can do. Saiz doesnt want to leave , Leeds dont want him to go , but Getafe want him, but only on the terms suggested and we have said yes cos we are such a badly run club, that we just give in so easily.

    B) Saiz is such a disruptive influence at the club and has basically gone on strike, thus we will do anything to just get rid of him (Although I would have expected the club to announce this)

    C) Saiz has emotional problems. I said enough about this not to have any need to repeat them again.

    D) Mrs Saiz has serious emotional problems , and a return to Spain, where she can receive the close support of her family is considered the best option at present, and given her pregnancy, Saiz wishes to be close to her at the same time, and thus why the deal is structured as is.

    E) If Saiz plays one more minute in a Leeds shirt, we have to pay Huesca £20 million and thus the club deem it cheaper to do the deal suggested (altho why we then dont just sell him to anyone else etc etc)

F)This isn't really happening, its all just a dream

There you go pick one of the 6 options above to answer your questions, or come up with your own speculative answers to answer your own questions, lets actually have a discussion rather than have the same questions being raised by the same posters, and then an alternative group of same posters (of which I include myself) trot out their opinion time and time again.

Just to summarise, yes its a crap deal for the club at this moment in time, there are reasons for it, pick a reason that suits your position

    Oh dear ....

Leeds United midfielder Izzy Brown limped off during the first half of the Whites Under-23s clash with Barnsley on Monday afternoon at Thorp Arch.
The 21-year-old, who was making his fourth appearance for the development squad, was replaced in the 34th minute as he attempted to continue his comeback from a torn ACL.

Brown had started the game with heavy strapping on his left hamstring and fell to ground off the ball before being substituted.

The Chelsea loanee headed straight back into the Thorp Arch locker room for assessment with head of medicine and performance Rob Price with United head coach Marcelo Bielsa and sporting director Victor Orta watching on.

Patrick Bamford started the fixture following his heroics at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday alongside Manchester City winger Jack Harrison.

Tyler Roberts, who had been missing for a number of weeks ahead of the clash in Lancashire, replaced Brown shortly after the half hour mark.

Freak show going on at TA as we lose Izzy Brown to injury and Barnsley are 0-2 up even though they are bottom of the league and we’re top??.

Harrison yet again almost unplayable so deserves a chance in the first team. Bamford hits the bar, Halme just caused a nightmare as he passes back to a Barnsley player to slot into an empty net.

    Bielsa and Orta are watching

Still 2 down and we deserve to be losing. Bamford taken off to save him but even he has missed 2 sitters, Harrison also gies off and think to save him too for Villa. 65 minutes gone and great to see Bryce Hossanah back on the pitch (highly rated right back) and Kun replace Bamford. kun is a handfull with a big future, yes another Orta signing :emoticon-0148-yes:
