Good Morning. It's Monday 14th October, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

    Tabloids stir over Nketiah

Over the weekend The Sun, Mirror and the Star (so it must be true) all claimed that Eddie Nketiah's time at Elland Road was coming to an end, and the 20yo was to be recalled in January and sent on loan somewhere else.

This sparked a reaction from a host of clubs including Bristol City who narrowly missed out on the Striker in the Summer.

Ex White Danny Mills stoked the fire further when asked if Nketiah was banging on the manager’s door

“Yeah he is, but he just hasn’t really had a chance at Leeds from the start,”

“It’s an interesting one, clearly it’s something that Bielsa doesn’t quite see in training, playing international football is different, it’s not the same as playing league football and certainly Championship football.

“You have to trust Marcelo Bielsa and say what is he not seeing in training? What is not happening for him to not be put in the starting line up?

“There’s just something that isn’t right. Bielsa clearly doesn’t trust him yet.”

If you were Nketiah, how would you be feeling?

Has Bielsa treated the youngster badly?

Radrizzani - investment would take the club to a level where we could “compete with Manchester City”

Radrizzani has revealed to Martin Ziegler of The Times that he is considering an offer from Qatar that would take the club to a level where they could “compete with Manchester City”

I’m giving you more information than I ever gave to anyone.

I have been approached by more than 20 parties and I have selected these three.

The option of Qatar Sports Investment and Nasser — first of all they are friends, we have had a good relationship for a long time. Secondly, they have the possibility to bring this club to compete with Manchester City, so for the fans that could be a fantastic opportunity.

The second is based in America, he’s a big fan of Leeds United since he was a child, and I like that.

Another one is the owner of an Italian club. With another club you can create synergy to be more competitive and to target the Premier League — we could maybe get a loan to increase the quality of the team.

The big question is, would you want money thrown at the club, so that Leeds could be amongst Europe's elite?

Liverpool lining up 20m offer for Ben White

Various reports in the media are claiming that Liverpool are lining up a 20m offer for Ben White. The 22yo is enjoying the best football of his life at Elland Road having been signed on loan from Brighton in the Summer.

Liverpool have been widely criticised in the past for the way they conduct their transfers (I'm sure we all remember the Harry Kewell affair that left Leeds with nothing once agents fees were paid). In 2017, they were fined, banned from signing academy players and forced to apologise to Southampton for the way they conducted their business in their pursuit of Virgil Van Dijk.

Will the lure of 20m for a player who hasn't kicked a ball before for the Seagulls be enough to tempt them to part with the centre back?

According to the journalist, he could be an ideal backup option and further develop under a manager, who has an impeccable record of improving players and making them world-class!

Will the speculation turn White's head, and affect his play?

Is there a recall clause in his contract?

Bielsa doesn't need to explain his decisions to the likes of Danny Mills or any of us. He only needs to explain to the squad why some of them are selected and some aren't, and to keep Arsenal informed as to the progress of Nketiah as he's their commodity.

Bielsa knows his reasons, and quite rightly those reasons are kept in-house. He isn't keeping Nketiah on the bench to deliberately have a detrimental effect on the team <doh> in his opinion it's for the team's benefit.

No one sees the players in training more than Bielsa, so just let the man get on with it and do his job.

Morning all. It depends on fans ambitions and were all very different. I hate the pl but also hate not being able to hold onto quality. Ben White perfect example. A great success but a loan, so unless we've multi millions to throw around, hell be off at seasons end so then we've to scout another one and on and on it goes. Im of the "if you can't beat em, join em" school of thought. As a club we've fallen further and further behind clubs that 20 years ago were at best on a par with us and many were miles behind us. If its wads of cash from QSI to sort it, then so be it. Re investment, Its fairly obvious there will be serious rebuilding at end of this season anyway. No promotion will mean Bielsa and some of best players gone likely. Promotion would require a host of better quality players albeit Bielsa would surely stay for another season

    Investment

We need investment now if we want promotion & if we reached that goal we'll require investment of the QSI proportion if we are aiming to compete with the big boys

    Ben White

Ben's performances won't have gone unnoticed, he has been outstanding since his arrival at ER in the summer. If we lose Ben or Kalvin in the January window our promotion aspirations will be in tatters.

Look at the results since our other key player Pablo's injury.

Without any of these three we are in the mire :(

Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey
I think AR has realised he can't afford to put anymore money into LU so he has done the right thing in attracting other suitors with deep pockets
Pleased too this morning for WJ his beloved team won at last
Fast Eddie will not be going back but Clark will

Picturing Ben White and Kalvin Phillips playing for England the other night, we would have won without conceding. So yes we do need investment or we need to have full confidence in kids we already bought..... is Struijk as good as White? Probably not yet.

Eire mentioned we had gone backwards whilst other clubs had moved ahead. Only one reason that happened and it wasn't rich owners, it was an owner who gambled and then used parachute payment system to enhance their lot. I give you Wigan who were a prem outfit fir years with a 7,000 gate, WBA bouncing up and down. Norwich, Stoke who although have rich owner used a solid manager who got them promoted and kept them up. Southampton won promotion by gambling on investing in players and then sold to rich Swiss owners. Bournemouth a tiny fanbase but a decent manager improving the squad every year. Burnley little by little every year, Brighton ffs

Bournemouth also have very rich Russian owners that broke FFP rules to go up. Staying up meant they got away with it (3 million fine in the end I think they settled on).
