Good Morning Everyone Days after his 6th birthday, Toby Nye has lost his brave fight against neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, which spreads rapidly across the body. In a statement last night, Toby's family said Toby 'looks at peace now & free from everything that was thrown at our poor baby boy'. Tributes have been pouring in far and wide for this special little boy. R.I.P Toby. Leeds look set to sign Real Madrid keeper Kiko Casilla in the next 38 hours. The 32yo shot stopper has slipped down to third in the pecking order behind Nevas and Courtois. Effectively Leeds will pick the Spanish International up on a free transfer though will take over the 18 months he has left on his contract at Madrid which is £50,000 a week. Thoughts? Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the Manchester Evening News about Leeds!!! He told The MEN: "I think he's the best because always I try to listen to what the players say about their manager because it's the real truth. The other depends on the results, and for the guys in charge of the big clubs it's easier than the other ones. "We win because we are in the big clubs with the big players. But everyone who works with him is a better player and the teams are better. That's why he is a special manager and special person. I'm a supporter of Leeds and hopefully next season they can be in the Premier League, it would be good for the Premier League. "I admire him for being the Argentina manger and being at big clubs and having the humility to go in the Championship going to a historic team like Leeds [to try to] put them on top and back to the Premier League. I wish him all the best." Almost 30 years after 96 people were killed at the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough, two men will finally start to face justice today! David Duckenfield, police match commander on the day of the tragedy, is charged with one count of manslaughter by gross negligence in relation to 95 deaths. Graham Mackrell, the Sheffield Wednesday club secretary and safety officer at the time the disaster happened, will stand trial alongside Duckenfield, on two counts of breaching his duties under safety legislation. The trial at Preston crown court, which will be presided over by the judge Sir Peter Openshaw, is scheduled to last four months, due to conclude in May.
good morning i got a Monday off for a change.sad to hear of the little guy passing away cancer is a cruel illness. please let this goalie sign soon as possible it's what i have been waiting for and can't wait to hear if he is any good and how many studs he has on his boots. so for me things are coming together but i still believe if we started with a top class goalie we would be on sixty points by now and clear. Sheff utd are still getting results and the chase is on for sixth place as i think boro and west brom now look like play off teams.the Baggies have lost their best player recalled by uncle fester.we have players due back soon and maybe just maybe izzy fit yet may contribute before season end. so come on mr rads and show some intent and sign a couple ready for promotion because if he does we are going up.
Morning all If the story is true we will be signing 2 keepers this week. Kiko actually was on the Madrid bench last night because Cortois was injured, so hope this doesn't hinder his move this week. It seems we are also getting an Argentinian from Arsenal who is disappointed not playing. Emilio Martinez is a young keeper that Bielsa knows so it would seem BPF and Martinez may be fighting for No2 shirt or BPF goes to No3 with Huffer or Miazek going out on loan? Of course anything could happen and we bring nobody in? Outfield players is a bit made up story week and besides the Swansea winger James, there seems to be just speculation and even Bowen was mentioned again over the weekend but feel he will be going to the Prem
I still believe BPF will be #1, until someone impresses enough in the u23s, á la Blackman. Our most expensive signing didn't get to walk into the team, so I can't imagine anyone else getting to do it. I'm guessing BPF has had a 121 with Bielsa & has been told the #1 job is his until he loses it for himself.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey Well I am allowed to comment again I could only get NULL when I wrote perhaps someone can explain I am delighted we have a keeper with experience again and I would love Bowen as well in attack but it sounds like a winger from Swansea perehaps Doc can provide a video The weekend was good to us again only Sheff U wonand I agree with Wakey we would have been 60 points at least with a keeper WBA were dealt a severe blow when Harvey Barnes was recalled he had scored 10 goals plus assists Villa the wheels have come off so it could mean Hull getting into the playoffs as Forest have ;problems as well The spygate will be forgotten by next week and Jenas and that idiot Andrews Have they forgotten how many players simulate diving to gain a penaly surely that's a worst form of cheating how about knocking points from them Finally RIP Massinga and Toby you have both left too young The job of a manager today there is a fine line between success and failurelook at Ranieri for proof so if you can gain and advantage by knowing that your opponents star player is injured good for you
Morning all. Weekend of mixed emotions. Euphoria over Fridays result followed by sadness at two Leeds people taken away far too young. RIP Phil and Toby. As for transfers, as usual, I won’t comment until 1 I see them in a Leeds shirt and 2 I’ve seen them play for us
Hate disagreeing with you mate, but story coming out of Spain and Phil Hay and Joe Urquart is Kiki comes as No1 and expected to play against Stoke. I am just the messenger though and anything could happen
That would make sense. Why would he swap being understudy at Real for being an understudy with us, on same wages and having to relocate and presumably move his family if he has one. Must feel he has a real shot at the no 1 slot if he signs at all of course
Morning all.. Sad about the young lad and how his family must be feeling right now, it certainly puts things into perspective and how unimportant football is in comparison. I’m guessing we’d be willing to pay a top drawer keeper £20k a week. So giving this guy £50k a week that’s an extra £30k over 18 months and is just short of 2.5 million. Basically we’d be paying £2.5m for him but spread payments. I think it’s good business but still very expensive IF Bielsa isn’t looking for a new number one. This guy upping sticks and coming to England to go from 3rd choice at Real Madrid to second choice at a Championship club, no chance, I don’t think so anyway but we’ll see. Last week I was going crazy over lack of signings, then I watched us outclass Derby in every position, we destroyed them (although the scoreline didn’t suggest it) and I hear most of our injuries are near on ready to come back. I watch Clarke and I don’t want him replaced, I watch Alioski at LB and wonder where Douglas and Alioski can fit in together, I watch Forshaw and Klich get it right and wonder where Phillips can fit back in with them both and I suddenly don’t care about lack of transfer activity.
I wonder if what they say to chorizo and what they say to bpf are the same thing. I doubt there are guarantees in the new guys contract about playing and you could create an argument that says: 3rd choice, no chance of playing at Madrid. Contract ends in 18 months, by which time he’ll be 34/35 and won’t have played competitively for over two years. Tough gig to get a new contract from anyone then. Maybe, chance to fight it out for the shirt at Leeds with good chance of playing in the Prem next year, looks attractive. Guess we’ll find out soon enough!
No idea why you couldn't post Mike, I thought you were using the quote system incorrectly! If it happens again maybe try and send a private message and we will look into it for you. Your account seems fine Morning all
