Good Morning Everyone It has been reported over the weekend that Everton are preparing to poach Tom Pearce away from Elland Rd. The 20 year old was dumped by the Toffee's four years ago, only for Leeds to pick up the pieces and rebuild his career. Pearce is out of contract this Summer, and the fact that he has not signed a new one does not look good. Is Pearce the future left back at ER. Is he better then Denton and De Bock? Thoughts? One player that has committed his future is Oriol Rey. The talented Spanish 20-year-old midfielder who joined from Barcelona last summer has penned a new two year deal. We think we know who the investor Leeds Utd investor is!!! please log in to view this image No other then Radrizzani's business partner Riccardo Silva, founding partner in MP & Silva. Silva posted a picture with Radrizzani, and in the comments a reunion was suggested. Silva also owns Miami FC in the NASL. Miami finished top of the league last season, and has invested heavily in the likes of Alessandro Nesta. The Jerry Mbakogu transfer saga is almost over. Leeds scouts were out in force at the weekend. The transfer could go ahead as soon as next week. Finally, and a little off topic, has anyone ever tried a Dutch Baby? According to the New York Times it is a large, fluffy pancake, excellent for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dessert any time of year!!! please log in to view this image Or its a Yorkshire Pudding with icing suger on it!!! Have they run out of gravy? Thoughts???
Morning all Whatever happens with Radz and his business partners will happen. Too easy to see a tweet which may have nothing to do with football or Leeds Utd and read too much into it. I believe thats why its called the 'silly season' Pearce is a worry as Everton is his home town club and I wonder if he wants to go home and try and play in the prem. A couple of notes though: I hope he isnt as fickle as Taylor and Byrom who had their heads Turned and left for more money but never get off the bench. I hope the kid realises he needs work, needs developing and can get first team football with us where he will learn much faster than not playing for Everton and probably getting loaned out to the Dog & Duck I cannot see any logic in perusing this Capri striker, a striker who doesn't score many. He could for all I know be the creator of goals and the link up front? Nothing I have read or seen warrants that though. He just looks like another Ekuban although 3 times the cash
Good Morning to Matt and co from a very sunny Cote deBardsey Pearce seems to me like he will be sold on I think that this is very short sighted of orta and sends wrong signals out to the fans that really nothing has changed we are a selling club. How much we get for him will depend on the panel but I wouldn't think nothing like we would get for him in the future as he is a real prospect Jerry Can the Capri player what on earth I we thinking about swap him for Ekuban if you must but £3m they are having a laugh
And what, I wonder, was Rads referring to when he said he had learned from last year and needed to be more closely involved in decisions? Was that so he could be sure we would sell off any talent early and buy even more bargain basement players from overseas, who will feel zero identity with what it is to be Leeds?
Chesh do you want the same top half / bottom half bet as this year. Its clear we are still asset stripping and if we were getting rid of Hockabottom he would have gone by now. Looking at the above we might well be a feeder club for the MLS AS well as Serie C from here on....
Prutton commented yesterday with some sound advice for Radz and Orta. He said the club need to make a huge statement in the transfer market and show intent this time. Jerry whatshisface isn't a statement of intent more statement of death. Young Pearce and his contract talks will have been put on hold from his agent or adviser or it would have been done ages ago. I reckon he has been touted to Everton which is shortsighted of his agent. I hope the club see what they've got and do whatever to keep the lad. We will be lucky to get £5m for him in a tribunal like we did for Taylor because Taylor was a regular first teamer. He will go for peanuts unless Everton settle out of court. Tyler Denton is nowhere near as good as Pearce and think its time young Tyler leaves to progress his career elsewhere
Can you stop stealing my lines unless you credit me for being right. How are the hands now? You got any side effects from the alpurinol? They make me feel ****e...
Morning all. Not much left to say on the setup to be honest. Totally fed up with the club and care less and less what they get up to.
Yorkshire puddings used to not just be savoury. Two generations they were often eaten with jam and milk (cream was too expensive). When you think about it the batter mix is exactly the same as for a waffle but you cook it in a pan not an iron. Have one filled with bananas, caramel sauce and whipped cream. I cant any more but they are delicious.
Saw more passion from my little local non league side yesterday than I have at ER for over a decade. Chesh might get his way as I am more likely to watch town in the national conference than Leeds next season. it will take a miracle for them not to ccome straight back down but at least they will put some effort in.
Back in the 1950’s I had Yorkshire Pudding as a desert .... and main course, in fact breakfast and all meals ...... times were hard
Cornish pasties were the food of tin miners and were savoury at one end and sweet at the other. The crimped edge was used to hold the bloody thing and thrown away rather than eaten. No clean hands down a pit.
Exactly what I was mulling over, they are full time and get a decent wage. I wonder at what point it tips from wanting to play to wanting to get rich as the primary driver. I am thinking League one has some who still play for love of a club and some who are only interested in the wedge.
I suspect it changes when the get rich quick agents start having a word in their ears. I know youve no interest, but our national sport is GAA, fully amateur. Those guys train three nights a week while holding down full time jobs and commitment is never a problem at any level. Players stay with the same clubs and counties for their entire careers and form a huge bond with their clubs and fans. Have to admit, I prefer now to watch a GAA game than the other commercialised ****e and never thought Id say that. Ive been a soccer fan all my life
Amazing thought isn't it. Getting a wage for doing what you love without even thinking about getting rich off it. It was always a way of extending your teens/young man life by carrying on playing whilst your mates were up early going to work. In the added years of playing you saved, educated yourself and got a new career ready to go into when you could no longer do it. usually a lot went into sales or fitness stuff in sports science, insurance Some got a pub or a sports shop etc. Getting paid for doing your hobby must be awesome
