Good Morning. It's Friday 9th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Progress being made in pursuit of Norwich star Leeds are making slow progress (but progress nonetheless) in their pursuit of Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe, but do not expect a deal to be struck any time soon. The Canaries almost fell off their perch, when Leeds tried to low-ball them with a £7m offer on Tuesday. It is believed that both sides are willing to negotiate, which could lead to a deal being finalised around the £10m mark, with add-ons. The club's emphasis on nurturing up-and-coming-stars aligns well with Rowe's potential. The Championship could offer Rowe the perfect stage to showcase his talent and move on to the next stage in his development. Daniel Farke sees the 21yo as the perfect replacement for Crysencio Summerville, who departed for West Ham earlier in the week. His potential to play across the front line could offer tactical flexibility, something sadly lacking last season. please log in to view this image Leeds lose out on Rak-Sakyi Leeds have lost out on Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, opting instead of a season-long loan to Sheffield Utd. The talented winger had been linked with a host of Championship clubs, but once again, the Bramall Lane hierarchy pulled out all the stops, to get their man. The Blades have bought in Callum O'Hare, Harrison Burrows, Alfie Gilchrist (loan), Jamie Shackleton, Harry Souttar (loan) and Kieffer Moore - and still have change from £5m (not including loan fees). Several Leeds bloggers have scoffed at the fact that Palace have a recall clause, plus, the loan agreement will set the Blades back £1m. Let's not forget that Leeds paid Citeh £9m in loan fees (over three seasons) for Jack Harrison - even though Everton receive his services for gratis! please log in to view this image
Some swings last night on both these players as Marseille seem to have got Rowe and offering more than Leeds. Di Zerbi is building a side to challenge PSG for the French title and spent a fortune so far this summer, including Mason Greenwood and looks like Nketia also joining. The Palace player has also had his heard turned by Hull who have agreed to all Palace demands, so let’s see what happens. If Rowe wants Leeds he will have to make it happen
Not enough conjecture and media speculation on here this morning. Who is in the know and privy to info us mere plebs know nothing about. A club the size of Leeds United should be top of the rumours and king of the heap. We need more media of players and fees from the click baiters to fuel our desire for info. It's just not good enough we are a big club it's so unfair.
Leeds, Hull and Sheff Utd are now rumoured to have agreed a loan deal for Rak-Sakyi. Player having reservations about joining Sheff Utd after initially agreeing to the deal.
I think that might be if he isn’t getting the game time. Palace really rate him and have no intentione to sell, they want him to have a full season in the championship for his development so they would probably prefer he goes to one of the other two. If we have agreed to meet their terms I’m presuming the Rowe deal has fallen through?
Evening all All the usual suspect sites including the YEP suggested we’d make swift ground and have two new signings by the weekend, yeah right
A couple of players we have been linked with this summer having great starts to the season, Szmodics for Blackburn and Hamer for the blunts. Hamer is the player we should have had last season and he will be the difference for the blunts. Anyone know what the hell Liam Cooper is messing about at? Could have joined Blackburn but walked away, Watford were after him and he again walked away. The season has kicked off but he’s on his settee. Is he chasing Saudi cash or is he trying for Celtic or Rangers?
Modi’s Was Only half fit last night and still produced a quality finish. Blackburn fans expected It To be his last appearance. Your last bit. Could be rangers but Celtic having won this seasons pal last week might have forced Him to think twice
Marseille in for Rowe now. This is what happens when you piss around low balling. This is also why we should have played hard ball on Summerville.
I watched first part of the behind the scenes Burnley documentary last night and a few surprises. Main one their director of football was working on a signing and everything was agreed figures players terms etc. At last minute his agent dropped in the bombshell that the agent wanted a 2m bonus to finalise the deal. The 2m was for the agent so deal was scuppered. There’s a lot goes on ristac that we know nothing about. Only Matt is privy to all that inner stuff
From reports I’ve read, Coops is after a two year contract and so far every club has just offered him a one year deal.
Rather than fook about with FFFP rules/PSR why not sort out agents fees as they should be illegal. An agent is employed by the player and the player should have a contract with his agent on agreed payment terms. Clubs shouldn’t be paying agents end of
