Good Morning. It's Friday 25th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Ayling could lead dressing room revolt

Former player, now pundit Danny Mills has claimed that Luke Ayling could lead a dressing room revolt against Marcelo Bielsa. The news comes following the Argentine's post match Press Conference, where he boldly insisted a change of style would not change results.

The experienced right back is one of Bielsa's senior statesman and has been entrusted to wear the Captain's armband in Liam Coop's absence. Although the idea of mutiny is a little hard to believe, not changing tactic when what you're doing obviously isn't working is absolutely crazy. It will be a brave man, probably a martyr, that stands up to El Loco! According to Mills:-

“There are times as a player you must be getting deflated,” “At Man City, you were 3-0 down after 20 minutes and were getting ripped apart. As a senior player, you must be thinking ‘We need to change this, we’re not going to beat Man City 4-3. We are just going to be continued to be ripped apart’.

“It’s the same at Liverpool, 3-0 down you have to think ‘Let’s shut up shop and win the second-half’. “These heavy defeats are crushing for your confidence and when they are coming thick and fast, seven at Man City, four at Man United and six against Liverpool. Phwoar, that’s hard to take.“Teams have worked it out and the better teams are starting to pick them off and exploiting the weaknesses, like set-pieces.

“There has to be a time where you change the way you play because at the moment it doesn’t look like they are going to be successful. “Luke Ayling is a senior player and he’s a right-back, he must be thinking ‘This is not working, we are getting ripped apart left, right and centre. We cannot keep doing this because if we do we’ll get beat again and again’. “It’s very hard to keep getting beat, it’s not comfortable.”

Leeds could face partial ground closure after latest coin throwing incident

A record 900 officers from WYP were on duty to Police the Leeds v Manchester United match last weekend, it has been revealed. A number of public order offences led to arrests, including nine for throwing objects onto the pitch. Leeds could now face the real possibility of having parts of their ground temporarily closed due to the behaviour of a few.

Although it is no excuse, moments before Anthony Elanga was hit by a coin as he celebrated in front of the South Stand, he was seen taunting the Leeds fans pointing to the Manchester United Crest on his shirt. The FA are still studying Paul Tierney's report before deciding what action to take against Leeds, but former player, now pundit Gabby Agbonlahor insists Leeds fans need to be punished:-

“Fans see the punishment that other fans get and think they can get away with it. “If there’s a massive punishment they might not do it. Whoever did that, the Leeds fan, needs to be identified and banned for life.
“100 per cent, I would close stands in stadiums, the stand where it happened.

“There needs to be a bigger punishment because one day, one of these footballers is going to be hit in the eye and they are going to be out for a season with an eye socket problem. “There needs to be a bigger punishment and Leeds need to be punished, definitely.”

Leeds should survive by the skin of their teeth

Leading Bookmakers Bet365 believe Leeds should survive by the skin of their teeth, come May. Currently, the Whites are three points clear of 17th place Burnley, but have the security of having both Newcastle and Everton sandwiched them. Although they calculate that both the Toffee's and the Magpies will leapfrog Leeds, the bottom three are unlikely to change.
    • Norwich 1/12
    • Watford 1/6
    • Burnley 4/5
    • Leeds 5/2
    • Brentford 11/4
    • Newcastle 4/1
    • Everton 4/1
    • Crystal Palace 33/1
Should Leeds survive, will it be more difficult to encourage good players to sign for them in the Summer? Will Leeds existing better players want to stay? A footballer's career is short enough; if a club comes along, who are challenging for honours, can we blame them if they want to leave?

I don't believe the Ayling story, unless he comes out and says it. As for the scum getting hit, while I don't think fans should do it, I believe the players are equally responsible though for their actions and should celebrate away from the home fans. I'm only saying this because we live in a world that is obsessed by not upsetting people, woke, the cancel culture, snowflakes etc etc are and have ruined the beautiful game of football. My son was at the match said the ref was telling the scum player off and apparently the scummer tried to apologised to the crowd who told him to **** off. No mention of the scum fan or fans bringing a turk flag in. As for gabby or gobby or whatever it's called, he hates Leeds Utd so whatever he says is **** and he's only there to tick boxes. After looking at all the teams matches who I'd say could be relegated, I think we have a chance. Alot of these teams have to play each other. Man.c is the only game I think we could get a mauling. Regarding Mills comments about getting hammered, well it was against the top sides who can do that to anyone on the day. <ok> Good morning.

Oh so here we go, close parts of LS11, so we are the only fans to do this!!!!
What’s happened to Arsenal fans throwing objects at Citeh players when they scored a late winner at the Emirates this season?
What has happened to the scouse cnuts who were spitting on the Citeh bench and in the middle of a viral pandemic, plus other incidents at other grounds?? I’ll tell you what’s happened, FCK all has happened, so Mr racist cnut gabby gob sh1te fck off and go and get educated.

    Agree entirely
The only addition I would make is that the likes of gobby sh!t face and his ilk should be held to account for the comments they make, we tend to laugh it off but all they are doing is trying to stir up more trouble.
There is no excuse for anyone throwing things however neither is there any excuse for players inciting this kind of behaviour by celebrating the way they do in front of opposition fans
Gobby sh!t face seems to imply that Leeds should be punished for the misdemeanour of all wrong doings in football
You don’t get these problems in rugby
Wonder if the authorities have ever asked themselves why

    Morning all

If we survive Bielsa needs to go, we can’t afford another season like this one. I’ve always said he doesn’t handle “certain players” that the PL is full of, it’s why he has such loyalty to a select few. It works with those that have dreams of promotion from the championship to the PL

The problem with the scouting, Orta not only needs to uncover a player with playing attributes, they have to have an attitude that would work with Bielsa and sometimes important attributes are overlooked.

Take Dan James, tons of speed, great engine, great attitude, tracks back but the most important thing for a winger is surely quality of the final ball.

Bielsa has been great we owe him a great debt but I’ve always maintained the PL is beyond him

    Morning all.

Have been away for a few days but back in time for tomorrow's match and really looking forward to it. It's definitely a game we can get something from to arrest our slide before we enter a more favourable run of fixtures.

As it stands we're still in a decent position and with still a third of the season to go anything could happen. If the poor run of form continues over the next 7 matches then yes we're extremely vulnerable to being relegated, on the other hand a few wins and a couple of draws would virtually see us safe.

    Next 7 fixtures as we enter squeaky bum time;

    Spuds (h) 26/03
    Leicester (a) 05/03
    Villa (h) 10/03
    Norwich (h) 13/03
    Wolves (a) 18/03
    Southampton (h) 02/04
    Watford (a) 09/04

Buckle up everyone because it's about to get very interesting.

This spurs game is an interesting one as they seem to be divided about their coach. He is not happy speaking out like he did is he?
A point will do and we can manage those this season.

The Wolves, Watford and Leicester away are tricky but I wouldn't expect a hammering, all the home games we can certainly get something from. A lot of the relegration sides play each other and so someone has to drop points. <ok>

Personally I just can't wait to get going with these fixtures.

Also I'm incredulous that some supporters are willing to throw the towel in when it's now we need to start fighting for the future of our club.

If we lose tomorrow it again doesn't really change anything, we simply move onto the next winnable fixture and get stuck into it with everything we have <ok>

I don't think for one minute the fans are throwing the towel in, we'll still be here long after they have all gone when we see the team being ripped apart every other game we're entitled to show our frustration, sometimes it looks like certain players don't give a ****, I can take a loss but I want my team to fight to the death and give their all, which they have done on occasions, that's the frustration it's human nature.
On to Saturday i hope the lads can get a result and lift the doom and gloom, these last few fixtures were always going to be difficult, but **** me it was hard to stomach.
Come on Leeds, we love you.
