Good Morning. It's Friday 22nd November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Whites to offer Chief ambassadorial role

Leeds Utd are in talks with Club legend Lucas Radebe about taking on an a new ambassadorial role at Elland Road.

As confirmed by Angus Kinnear during a recent Supporters Advisory Board meeting, the initiative aims to honour Radebe's legacy while leveraging his stature to enhance Leeds United's presence on the global stage. His story of loyalty, perseverance, and leadership aligns well with the values the club seeks to promote.

This move would not only celebrate his past contributions but also inspire future generations of players and fans. The discussions are part of a broader effort by the club to connect its historical figures with its future ambitions.

The Chief, as he is affectionately known, only joined the Whites to keep the late Philemon Masinga from getting homesick. Although plagued by injury, he played over 250 times over his nine year stay, turning down the chance to play for the likes of Manchester Utd, Roma and AC Milan.

    Leeds monitoring Brownhill deal

Multiple sources are linking Burnley Captain Josh Brownhill with a Summer move to Elland Road - but only if the Whites win promotion.

Brownhill, 29 next month operates as a box to box midfielder. His desire to press, track back, as well as having adept timing for interceptions and tackles. He loves to get forward, and has already netted five times this season, over twice the amount of any team-mate.

His five year contract is up next Summer, prompting speculation where the former Manchester Utd apprentice may turn up next. Leeds have shown interest in him in the past, but at 29, are his best days behind him?

According to Graeme Bailey:- “Josh Brownhill is a player Leeds have liked for a long time, and the fact he is out of contract next summer is something they are well aware of. Brownhill is having a great season in the Championship and he would really be of interest to Leeds going forward,”

Leeds know that the only way they would be in the conversation is if they get promoted, which could count against them as foreign clubs, including Celtic and Rangers, could agree a pre-contract before Leeds have the chance to make an official offer.”

Can’t say the ambassador roles hold much interest for me, I’d prefer to see ex players turning up to watch a few games off their own back than become a puppet for the powers that be. I remember a few grumblings when Lorimer became an ambassador and came out defending a few board decisions

Anyway, we already have Bamford in an ambassadorial role, do we need another?
