Good Morning. It's Friday 21st October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Hang your heads in shame Jesse Marsch made a hasty retreat to the dressing room upon the final whistle, as boos rang out from the away continent at the King Power Stadium last night. It was nothing more than Leeds deserved. Whilst the Whites may have one of the most loyal fan bases in the World, they don't suffer fools gladly; and on that basis, Marsch is an imbecile. It was hoped their display against Arsenal last Sunday, was going to be the start of a much-needed revival, yet 15 minutes in, when Robin Koch turned the ball into his own net, it was clear that they'll face an uphill battle to survive, come May. They don't seem to be learning by their mistakes. They work incredibly hard to win the ball, only to lose possession a few passes later, only to repeat the very same process again and again.... Our forward line never looked like scoring; they could still be playing now, and still not find the back of the net. This is against a team that have conceded more goals than any other top flight team (24). After Harvey Barnes added Leicester's second, ten minutes before the interval, there was never going to be a way back for the Whites. Even with a second half forward line consisting of Bamford, Rodrigo and Gelhardt, they were unable to put Danny Ward under any kind of pressure. Next up, free scoring Fulham are the visitors to Elland Road. Following their 3-0 victory over Aston Villa last night, the Cottagers will relish the chance to inflict more damage on Jesse Marsch's men. After that, a trip to Anfield.... please log in to view this image How much time has Marsch got left Jesse Marsch earned himself some rest bite by saving Leeds from relegation last season, but goodwill can only go so far. After a magnificent start to this campaign, Leeds have been on a one way collision course towards the Championship, and nobody has thought to hit the brakes. Their performance last night was difficult to watch. Unable to string a few passes together and rudderless going forward, it's easy to work out that confidence has hit an all-time low, but how do they switch things around? How much more time will Marsch be allocated to turn things around, or is the writing already on the wall? please log in to view this image What next for the Whites Leeds latest loss raises many questions, with few solutions being offered. If a (relatively) fully fit Leeds squad can't compete with a bottom of the table Leicester team, with many of their key players missing, what hope do they have, moving forward. Unprecedented injuries last season contributed to Bielsa's departure, but what excuse can Marsch give? More or less, apart from the odd niggle, the American has had few key players out of action this season, yet performance levels suggest otherwise. Are Leeds going to splash the cash in January to keep them afloat in the top flight? Marsch threw everything he had in the second half last night, yet Bamford, Rodrigo and Gelhardt barely made a dent on the Leicester City defence. Is it a fitness issue with Bamford, or has he reached his expiry date? Does Gelhardt need to go out on loan, and what on earth should we do with record signing Rodrigo? please log in to view this image
Morning all. Looks like this is three useless coaches out of four the three musketeers have appointed at the club. What's the odds on finding one willing to work with this squad and no transfer budget going forward. I keep pointing out we have no pl strikers and even Bamford would be at best third choice anywhere else but we continue to pin our hopes on him. Players won't be collecting their bonuses this season. Was looking forward to the weekend but last night put a serious damper on it
Steven Gerrard sacked last night, and he had to travel back with his (ex) squad on the team bus. Almost as awkward as watching Leeds performance last night! Who'd take Gerrard over Marsch?
We were gash last night, so were leicester, we blinked first... again. Reality is in this league you can't give any side a goal start and we do it time and time again. I don't think the side is as terrible as everyone thinks this morning, but we keep making terrible individual errors and sides keep scoring with pretty much their first opportunities and in leicester's case their only ones. So.. is it the players? - or is the manager asking them to do stuff beyond their capabilities? Could we play a brand of football with this set of players where llorente doesn't dick around on the ball every time, where rodrigo doesn't hit terrible passes in his own third, where cooper doesn't try and dribble past winger, where roca doesn't miscontrol a simple pass when he's last man? Where some fcker could shoot straight? In terms of chances created and chances conceded we're a mid-table side. But obviously, the actual table says different. It's very easy but too simplisitic to just say the manager is clueless. This is the squad we have, they keep making individual mistakes, if we're going to sack him, would say, sean dyche playing hoofball stop this from happening... and improve our chances?
Just stunned really, wasn't expecting that against Leicester's poorest team in many a year, they will be going down with us & Forrest . Villa will get the new manager bounce and will be safe. I Cannot for the life of me, understand how good we looked against the top prem side, then in just four days how sh** we looked against the bottom side. Problem is now we now we can't score, and seem to have that dreaded losing mentality, i was/am one of Jesse's biggest supporters, can he sort this? i am sorry to say i don't think so. To sum up, It's not looking good fellow Leeds supporters.
Morning all… Under Radz I’ve resigned myself to this is as good as it gets, scrapping for survival. I’m eternally grateful for what he achieved in making us a respectable properly run club and getting us promoted. I don’t blame him wanting one season in the PL and I can forgive him a second after we exceeded expectations but narrowly avoiding relegation and having a net spend of zero. He should have cashed out, he should have took Orta with him. Bielsa had total say in transfers, it seems Jesse has too, what’s the point in paying Orta? The idea of a DOF is a smooth transition when a new coach comes in. Now we’ve spent the cash on buying Jesse players and when he’s sacked we have to hope a new guy can get them playing more as a team, avoid relegation before the same **** next season
I think it was Shearer last night who questioned Llorente when he was dicking about with the ball rather than clear it forward. He asked “Do you think the coach has instructed him to continuously play like this?
Anyone who puts firpo, Llorente and Bamford in the first team should be sacked immediately Marsch hasn't got a clue, this team is getting relegated, he as to go to give whoever a chance of turning it around
10 games in and projected points are 34.2 and after last night we’ll be lucky to get that many The leeds faithful are being cond by Radz game after game Bamford is way beyond his best before date As someone said last night Ted Lasso would do better job than the joker we have in charge. If the joker we have in charge is still here after Sunday then it’s goodby premier league. My initial thoughts about Radz are coming true he just wanted Leeds as a shop window Come January I can see a number of players wanting away Jesse has turned out to be nothing but wind and piss
Unsurprisingly I am in total agreement with Milky on this. I'm finding it tough to fully blame Marsch. Our press trigger is when the ball is played out to the full back. Then as a team we press together. It was great 2nd half against Arsenal and they couldn't get out. Last night I was sick and tired of individuals pressing on their own with the worst culprit being Bamford. What I'm saying is that the players aren't doing what they are told. The same players that did the same to Bielsa last season. Get them out of the club ASAP. Sunday is now a huge game.
It's what I think too, how can we keep making so many costly individual errors. It seems to happen every game
I’d get someone new lined up on the quiet now and I’d put them in charge after the Liverpool game. Give the new guy a home match with Bournemouth, a cup game vs Wolves then Spurs. Three games to work with the players before the break, don’t let the players go to the WC wondering who is in charge. Either way they’re going to need funds come January, if there are no funds it probably matters not
But having said that, I really don't like the system we play, it doesn't work in the PL, as scum found out under Rangnick last season
