Good Morning. It's Friday 21st February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Angus Kinnear targeted by Everton

Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear has reportedly emerged as a key target for Everton’s new ownership group, The Friedkin Group (TFG), as they look to reshape the club’s boardroom structure. With Everton embarking on a new era under TFG, and preparing for their move to the Bramley Moore Dock stadium, Kinnear's experience is seen as invaluable.

The Telegraph reports that TFG are keen to bring Kinnear onboard in a similar CEO role to the one he currently holds at Elland Road. His track record of navigating club transitions, particularly stadium moves, is understood to be a major draw for the Merseyside club. Kinnear’s CV boasts experience at both Arsenal and West Ham, clubs that have successfully transitioned to new stadiums.

His potential move comes at an interesting time for Leeds United. Under the 49ers' ownership, the club appears to be on a more stable footing and is currently well-placed in the Championship promotion race, sitting comfortably in the automatic promotion spots as the season approaches its final stretch.

This success provides a stark contrast to last season's relegation, for which Kinnear, alongside Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta, faced criticism from fans. Notably, Kinnear is the only remaining member of that leadership trio at Elland Road, with the 49ers effectively installing their own team around him.

Whilst not always a popular figure amongst the Elland Road faithful, Kinnear’s experience is undeniable. Everton’s interest suggests they recognize his skillset could be crucial as they navigate their own period of change and prepare for a pivotal move to their new stadium.

Leeds prepare to pounce on Walker-Peters deal

Leeds United are interested in acquiring the services of Southampton and England full-back Kyle Walker-Peters this Summer, according to multiple reports in the press. They considered a move for the 27-year-old in January, but decided to wait until he becomes a free agent. This season he has managed just two assists in 25 starts in all competitions. Despite this, 'Transfermarkt' value him at €20.00m.

Their pursuit is likely to face stiff competition. Reports indicate that Walker-Peters has emerged as a target for Graham Potter's side, further complicating Leeds' chances. Additionally, David Moyes at Everton is also said to be keeping a close eye on the twice-capped England international as his contract winds down.

    Afternoon all

I’m not bothered about Angus either way, leaving us to join Everton is a sideways step at best, if that’s the calibre of club he needs to join then he isn’t very high on other teams opinions

Not sure what the interest they have in Kinnear, his skill set was preparations and transition to new stadiums. Everton have already done all that. Maybe they want him to drive the removal vans.

Best I’ve seen yet. Another possibility is they haven’t a pot to piss in and using our two fire sales to buy sevco.
