Good Morning. It's Friday 21st April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Shouting at the players is ineffective During his pre-match presser yesterday, Leeds interim boss Javi Gracia has indicated that shouting at his players is ineffective. In fact, he goes a stage further, suggesting his players ignore his raised outbursts (blah blah blah). Rumours suggesting a dressing room rift are gathering pace, and their frustrations are starting to show on the pitch. The players obviously lack confidence and self belief, but Gracia is hoping that his calm demeanor will rub off on his squad. The Spaniard believes the players respond better to problem solving than fits of anger and believes that togetherness will play a part in their quest for survival. “At half-time, they are nervous with playing and if someone shouts it’s blah blah blah. No good. The time I shout is in games we are winning. Maybe in that moment we’re relaxing and need to wake up, but when we’re losing, my job is to explain, to give them solutions. Shouting is a resource for people who have no other way.” “I don't keep all the time the same attitude. What is important is to convince the players. To help them to understand why the things are happening and try to find the solution, try to solve the problems and it's something we have to do together. All of us have different responsibilities and I have to accept my responsibility. I have to work on all of these problems we have, but, at the same time, we have to assess the situation with perspective." “We've competed well, we've got good results. It's true we have to accept now the critics because there were some moments in the last games that were something unacceptable and I understand that. I understand the point of view of, as you say, some supporters saying, in some moments, you can feel the lack of desire. I can understand that feeling 100 per cent, but I spend time with my players and I know how they are suffering this moment and how they work to improve the situation." “They are able to change and they are able to do it because they did it staying with me. I believe in these players and I'm sure, all together, we come back to compete the way we did it." please log in to view this image PGMOL apologise to Leeds over blatant handball The Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL), the body that runs officiating in English professional football have contacted Leeds to confirm Liverpool's opening goal should not have stood, according to football pundit Richard Keys. The news comes following a tweet from the 65yo journalist, disclosing he had been told that the PGMOL had been in touch with the West Yorkshire Club to apologise for allowing the blatantly obvious hand ball incident, which opened the floodgates. I'm sure we'd much rather see the match officials try to justify their actions, and if not, face the same kind of sanctions one of us would face if we had made a comparable mistake at work! please log in to view this image Meslier has been one of the worst shot-stoppers in the top flight this season New data compiled by 'The Athletic' has highlighted what an atrocious season Illan Meslier is having between the sticks at Leeds Utd. The 23yo has almost become an automatic choice, due mainly to lack of competition for the No 1 jersey. It has been rumoured that his drop in form may be linked to having his head turned, after being linked to high profile transfer speculation. Alternatively, the lack of competition for the Number one jersey, may have made the young Frenchman complacent. In the past, he has been forgiven for his poor distribution, due to his shot-stopping abilities, but with this new data suggesting his lowly standing, is it time to give Robles a chance? please log in to view this image
Morning all. My interpretation of the press conference was completely different and I'd expect us to bounce back tomorrow with a much improved performance and result.
I love Jammy and his very optimistic views on the club and players, we need more like him Unfortunately I am not in teamjambo today and beginning to dislike the board, the decisions taken, the playing staff and lack of balls
Ok so i have likened the Fulham game to the last mile. This is of course a term used when the condemed man/woman starts the walk to the execution chamber. Nothing short of four points will see us with a delay and even then we need three more.we are first up Saturday and i hope the squad are ready to go all out to win. So come on you mighty whites and go for it as we are due a win in London.
Second best keeper in the league…… and our scoring ability. ….. and it’s London. Time to break some hoodoos
Irrelevant how fans feel, it won't affect results on the pitch. They're either up to the job of representing Leeds United or they're not. To date they haven't been
If they fold this weekend then that's that for me, Leicester I think will beat wolves and with Mr Harvey Barnes who seems to like playing us will kill us off at 'fortress' ER....... unless of course that whoever steps over the white line at craven cottage actually looks at the fantastic following we always have and realises how lucky they are compared to the majority of those people and show them they still want to play for Leeds United and put a ****ing shift in at the very least....well lads are you up for it or not,the last chance saloon has nearly called time
Will leave all that stuff & nonsense up to OLOF and his stilleto heeled mates. Anyway back to the footy... What's your score prediction for tomorrow Mr Optimist ?
Fascinating fixture tomorrow Doc. Have watched Fulham a few times this season and they have an excellent set up. The ball is moved around and within that shape really well and it's clear they all know their roles within the team. That said though if you can disrupt that flow of passing you can get at them and without Mitrovic and Dan James up top they could be a little light in attack. Really interested as to how Javi will approach this game as the instinct is to get after them and put them out of their stride, but on the other hand if they're toothless then maybe a more patient approach might pay dividends.
Silva great coach Silva loves to get the ball down and play, but this season he set his team up to suit Mitrovic and because he isn’t there they have to do things differently. Their form is dropping off simply because they have overachieved this season. Everyone’s favs for the drop along with B/Mouth and Forest but now we’ll safe. I think we should have enough to beat them. Lefttit required from whoever gets selected on our side, this is the final chapter and even a draw isn’t going to be good enough. If we win we put the fear into Leicester and Everton
