Good Morning. It's Friday 18th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds keep tabs on Norwegian ace

Leeds are fighting it out with Newcastle Utd over Norwegian U21 International Fredrik Andre Bjorkan.

The 22-year-old left-back came up through the ranks with Bodo Glimt from the Norwegian top division

His defensive displays has been attracting attention all over Europe. Celtic held talks over Bjorkan in the summer, but were unable to secure a deal.

Bodo are set to win the Norwegian title this weekend. They are 19 points clear of nearest rivals Molde.

Do Leeds need a recognised left back or are there more concerning area's of the pitch that

Who should Leeds top priority be in the January transfer window?

The January transfer window opens in less than a fortnight. As normal, we can expect to be linked to dozens of superstars all over the globe.

If Bielsa was given the reigns to sign two players, which players / positions are in need of being filled?

We spent the best part of 100m during the Summer window, so I wouldn't expect them to break the bank unless they can find players who will improve their starting XI.

The same question regarding outgoing players. We can expect to see both Shaughnessy and Grot depart in the New Year but are there any players that could be sold to recoup money?

    Morning,

Not sure who we should buy but we should get rid of Coco by any means possible. Not a good situation at all having someone so incompetent as back-up goalkeeper.

Plus the fact his £35k a week wages are a complete waste of money.

Agreed. And I've now reached the stage where I'll throw Roberts name in for the list. He's exhausted my patience.

    Morning all...

Kiko and Roberts for definite, I’d like a top drawer LB but I’m unsure where that would leave Dallas. If we could get a good LB I’d cash out on Costa and give Alioski a new contract.

Phillips and Klich being on 4 yellows could leave us short in the middle, I’d assess Forshaw, if he’s good enough to play soon maybe give him one last chance. How long has he on his contract, we certainly haven’t had any value for money on him.

I’d consider letting him go but not until towards the end of the window and that’s assuming he doesn’t get injured again

    Morning all,
I don't think Bielsa does January windows so stocked up in the Summer. Forshaw would be ideal to come in for Philips or Klich but it seems he's still a way off.
Maybe any suspensions could give some of our promising U23 a chance. From what I've read on here we have some prospects. I liked the look of Greenwood from the highlights.
Maybe some will get a run out in the Cup

    How depressing.

Players are "overwhelmingly in support" of continuing to take a knee to highlight racial inequality and fight discrimination, says the Professional Footballers' Association.

I don’t think we’ll buy anyone in the January window to be honest but if we were going to go out and buy someone I’d expect a central midfielder has to be top of the list along with a left back.

I think if we could get a midfielder in I’d look at trying to sell Roberts as I don’t think he’s good enough at this level and I think we could get a decent sum for him. I feel we have enough coming through looking at Gelhardt and Greenwood to be sufficient replacements for Roberts that would possibly bring more to the team and have more promise on getting better. Honestly think we’re probably better keeping Kiko as an experienced back up unless we can remove some of his wages or get a fee for him until he retires or contract runs out and we blood a youngster into the team as we’d be looking for a no.2 keeper and I can’t see many keepers coming into a PL team knowing they’re going to be 2nd choice and be on less than Kiko but we’ll see.

If there are no incomings then no outgoings unless it’s the deadwood of Bouy etc. and reassess in the summer.

I would suggest that this is because they are frightened of breaking ranks and getting lynched by the press
This will continue until fans are allowed to return on mass and show what they think of this rubbish

Phillips and Klich due for suspensions so with luck that will be after Llorente gets back as he is the natural cover for Phillips and so too Struijk. Cover for Klich I would go straight to Gelhardt :emoticon-0148-yes:

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was recognised for leading Liverpool to their first Premier League title by being named the best men's coach for the second successive year.

The German won the award in 2019 after lifting the Champions League with Liverpool and beat Bayern Munich Hansi Flick and Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to the top honour this year.

I wouldn't do any business in January other than offload the players like Buoy, Grot, De Bock.

Offloading Kiko would be nice only if we got another experienced keeper in as back up. Fraser Forster is available for loan and although he might not be the best ball playing keeper in the league he ticks alot of boxes most importantly very comfortable under the high ball. I think he would help Meslier more than Kiko does.

In a perfect world I would like a left back for the first team but we are doing ok with Dallas to be fair to the lad. I'd wait until summer and pinch Max Lowe from Sheff Utd. Lad was electric at Derby and has stagnated at the blades this season. If Bielsa gets his hands on him he could be a superstar. He is quick, skillful, only 23, has a good engine and isn't the worst defender. Probably get him for 5-10 million.

I'd say we still need another Klich style player but Rodrigo and Bamford seem to be total footballing that position between themselves and it looks promising so far. Happy to see where it goes.

On a side note it looks like there might be an allowance of 9 substitutes on the bench. Hopefully this might allow the Gelhardts and Greenwoods of the U23's a greater chance of getting a few minutes experience in a game.

Another factor with transfers, clubs probably budgeted for fans being back by now and Covid not to still be such an issue

Have the Wendies got anyone of any consequence we could pounce on? I see they've not paid their wages again.
