Good Morning. It's Friday 15th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds table £7m bid for explosive right-back Multiple media reports suggest Leeds have tabled a £7m bid for Nigerian International Bright Osayi-Samuel. The versatile 26yo applies his trade with Super Lig outfit Fenerbahçe. He is predominantly a right back but can also play right wing. His explosive pace and physical strength have earned him a following amongst scouts from all over Europe. Osayi-Samuel came through the youth ranks at Blackpool, before signing for QPR in 2017. After four years, and 103 appearances he made the move to Istanbul, which is where his career has taken off. Leeds face interest from Wolves, Crystal Palace and Rennes, but are the only club thus far to put their money where their mouth's are. It is believed that Osayi-Samuel favours a move back to England in the Summer, though much will depend on what division Leeds find themselves in! please log in to view this image How would Osayi-Samuel's arrival effect squad dynamics If Osayi-Samuel joins in the Summer, how will this effect the squad dynamics? Currently Archie Gray is doing an admiral job at right-back, but we all know where his true talents lie! The prospect of an Ampadu / Gray midfield is a mouth watering prospect, and if Rutter can continue to create big chances, they could be a force to be reckoned with should they win promotion to the promised land. Where does this leave Connor Roberts? Media reports this morning suggest Leeds have already submitted an offer to Burnley for the 28yo Welsh International. Whilst a move 40 miles down the road makes sense for Roberts, do Leeds really want Burnley's cast offs? please log in to view this image Southgate eyeing possible Gray call-up Gareth Southgate namechecked Archie Gray as being among the standout young players emerging in the Three Lions this season Speaking after the latest squad announcement for the upcoming internationals against Brazil and Belgium, the England gaffer suggested Gray could earn a promotion to the senior squad sooner rather than later, even though he has yet to make an U21 appearance for Lee Carsley's side. "There are some players with the under-21s, especially in midfield, who are doing exceptionally well. "Especially in the midfield with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Harvey Elliott, Rico [Lewis] was with us last time, Archie Gray at Leeds is doing very, very well I have to say. "So there are a number of players that we could move in, which would mess up what Carsley's trying to do with his squad, it's most important that we have depth with the seniors." please log in to view this image
Morning Ell. Great job this morning as usual. If we go up, there will be upgrades throughout the team and members of the current first team will become squad players. If recruitment is right then it shouldn't affect squad dynamics too much. If we stay where we are then we would have to see how many of the current squad would stay for another crack at it. Of course, that is dependent on FFP and some of the lads persisting with the Championship for another year. We still get parachute payments next year so with Farke at the helm I feel we'd still have a good shout next year.
Morning all Leeds fans. Not surprised Archie's getting noticed by Southgate. Anyone know if he's committed himself to England yet? There was talk the other day about the lad having a decision to make. Maybe Southgate should act sooner rather than later before he gets tempted by the Scots.
Prolly why he wants to bring him in to the senior squad. Give him a cap as a sub and tie him to England.
I think I read somewhere that he wants to play for england, but some of his family were not best pleased about that.
Sorry Ell I’ve not been posting as much, we moved home 4 weeks ago and the amount of odd jobs and work required has been pretty hectic. Good Saturday morning to all. Here is hoping for a good weekend for all.
Could have done with Ipswich having a tricky game but Sheffield Wednesday are bloody useless so we’ll be 3rd going in to tomorrow’s match.
Only 4 weeks? That's good going. We downsized from a 4-bed to a 3-bed a few years ago. Took us 10 days alone to empty enough boxes in the living room to see the telly! Sad, but true.
