Good Morning. It's Friday 10th September, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Huddersfield turned down 13 m from Leeds for star Huddersfield Town chairman Phil Hodgkinson has disclosed that they turned down four offers from Leeds for midfielder Lewis O'Brien. The 22yo had been on Bielsa's wish list for most of the Summer, and with only twelve months left on his contract and the cost of Covid running into tens of millions, you'd imagine the dog botherer's would play ball. According to Hodgkinson, the last offer they turned down from Leeds was 13 m; a far cry from the 5 m reported from various media outlets. How can an unproved Championship player, in the final year of his contract, be worth upwards of 14 or 15 m? I'm pretty sure the Whites would have been criticised, had they secured O'Brien's signature for such a sum! please log in to view this image Do Leeds stand a chance on Sunday It's been a turbulent start to our campaign, and it won't get an easier on Sunday when Jurgen Klopp's men come knocking. Are Leeds in for another hiding, or do they stand a chance to cause a giant upset to the Merseyside team? Liverpool are currently 5th in the table. They dispatched Burley and Norwich with ease, but were held to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Anfield just under a fortnight ago! It's games like this that frustrates me. Bielsa's boys are not capable of going toe to toe with the Reds, yet the gaffer will not change the tactics accordingly to make us more difficult to break down! Morning all, If you believe a- we offered 13 million and 2- Huddersfield turned it down then I have some ocean front property in Arizona for sale you might be interested in. At no point this summer was a number that high mentioned with all the talk being about how we thought more than 8 million was too much, all of a sudden its jumped by 5 million. Also all the talk was about Huddersfield being cash strapped. If this was the case there is no way they would have turned it down. As for Sunday. I am neither hopeful or filled with dread. I am approaching these games against the top four the same way I did last season. We are not expected to get anything from them so anything we do will be a bonus. To me the performance is more important than the result. If we lose the same way we did at Anfield last year it would not be the end of the world.
Pushed them to a unlucky 4-3 defeat last season by going toe to toe. Drew with Man City by going toe to toe. Beat Spurs by going toe to toe. Drew with Chelsea by going toe to toe. Like you say short memories. We may not have started this season at our full tilt but we have shown we shouldn't be frightened of anyone.
Bielsa and Orta always say any new player coming in must improve the team! So is O’Brian a starter I would say not yet but could improve the squad? But shows how desperate the dogs were for getting a few quid, they were arguing over £1m at the end and Orta refused to give them loads of cash up front and wanted it to rise to £13m in add-ons. I think we did the right thing and walked away. Can we beat Liverpool, yes we can. Will we beat them maybe not simply because the International break has screwed up team plans, tactics Raphinha up in the air, Phillips was tired at the end on Wednesday night, Roberts was slagged off in the Welsh and National press and Welsh pundits, James hasnt trained with the team so a bit of a joke really. To beat Liverpool we need a cohesive plan with everyone doing their role but …….
I think what I read is they liked the deal. but, not the structure of it. something along the lines of we are losing our best player but the construction of the offer wasn't going to replace him or benefit the club in the short term. god knows what it was instalments plus all the add ons. They must expect Lewis's value to soar this season or at least to January because he isn't going to sign a new contract is he. They have an option of giving him another year what does that exactly mean? Do both parties have to agree on this? Or is this already agreed and the club only have to give the nod to follow it through? Can Lewis refuse? The Dog Botherer's will have no option but to sell in January if he can refuse as he will be out of contract in June next year. As on Liverpool of course we can win. Would be a great place to get our first 3 points.

We can beat any team if we play like we did at the end of last season, but we aren't playing like that at the moment. History will show that playing Liverpool home or away has nearly always been hard fought and points were hard to come by. I'll be watching in hope more than anything else, but in the knowledge that I'm off work Monday and I'll have a load of ale in the fridge.
Well first of all you were talking about having to be difficult to break down against Liverpool and stated Bielsa never changes his tactics, forgetting the fact they found us difficult to break down five months ago in a 1-1 draw. What the **** Burnley have to do with it is anyone's guess
