Good Morning Everyone As expected Patrick Bamford has been handed a two game ban for "successful deception of a match official" by the FA. He will therefore miss Saturdays finale at Portman Road and the first leg of the play off. If he was successful, why is he receiving a ban? The Leeds Utd PR machine made the following statement:- "Whilst Patrick Bamford did not deny a charge of successful deception of a match official following our Sky Bet Championship game against Aston Villa on Sunday, the club did request a hearing to contest the penalty imposed on the player. "The club felt that given the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the extraordinary act of sportsmanship which saw our head coach Marcelo Bielsa demand our team to allow Aston Villa to score an uncontested equaliser, we could have a sensible discussion around the sanction. "We acknowledge that the FA panel did not feel that to be reasonable and the club therefore joins Patrick in accepting the two match ban." How important is it that Bielsa stays at ER next season? If he were to leave, who should replace him? If you could pick two Leeds players from the last 25 years to step forward in time (as a 27yo) and play the remaining fixtures, who would they be. I'm going for Radebe and Viduka.
Morning Ell and all. Up until now I didn't subscribe to the conspiracy theory regarding the FA and us but following the inability of the three wise monkeys that sat in judgement to spot anything wrong with the villa players behaviour I have to wonder. I was so incensed that I emailed the FA with footage of hourihanes punch on klich but of course have not had a reply because they see no evil, speak no evil or hear no evil unless it relates to LUFC. **** them bunch of corrupt, bungling dickheads. I really think it is important for us to keep Bielsa. It's nothing short of a miracle what he has achieved with the players he has got even if they have choked somewhat. I love his attitude and if we had somebody who can actually score goals consistently we would have walked this league. I really hope we can get through the play offs and give him what we deserve. Two players I would have are Norman Hunter (naturally) and Tony yeboah.
Morning all Bielsa must stay or we will slide backwards and a few of our better players will leave. They will stay to learn from Bielsa and it will show determination for promotion next season. Who would we want to replace him... crazy to even think about it because I can just see the usual suspects mentioned
Morning all I think we need a leeder so i would go for Batty. Also need a descent crosser of the ball and one of the best i have seen was Mel Sterland despite his sadly relatively short career with us,and as for Bielsa we need him to continue for at least one more season, wherever we are, with Corberon his natural successor. But we also need a top finisher Viduka/chapman type And a dead ball taker,Garry mcallister would be invaluable Bloody ell wonder how much that little shopping list would cost these days
It's more important to keep Bielsa than any player. He has to stay and finish the job, regardless of what division we're in. 25 years.erm Yaboah and Bowyer.
Morning all. All footballs governing bodies leave a lot to be desired and are a law unto themselves and that is part of the problem. I'm still smarting from the £200k fine they gave Bielsa which was way out of line. Bamford is a Pratt and I hope Bielsa has had suitable words with him, he deserves his ban then he can f--k off for me.(don't like cheats) If Bielsa leaves or is not given funds for next season I can see us returning to a mid table club.
How important is it that Bielsa stays at ER next season? Absolute essential If he were to leave, who should replace him? Irreplaceable at this level If you could pick two Leeds players from the last 25 years to step forward in time (as a 27yo) and play the remaining fixtures, who would they be. Ferdinand & Yeboah
I think Bielsa might stay even if we don't get promoted. If he does I think he'll start all over again. My one worry is the Raz won't have the financial clout to back up his plans. I also think the vultures may come calling for our better players. Hope I'm wrong though. Regarding players from the last 30+ years, there are so many I'd like. But John Sheridan and Ian Baird.
Is that allegedly an estate agent or corrupt? I think I would get howled down in I suggested the other Australian but him and Viduka, at their best, would be quite useful in the next few weeks.
Morning all... I’m on the same page as Norman, until this season I never brought into the “they all hate us” theory but it’s been embarrassingly obvious this season. I would love to see those make the decisions grilled by a good journalist live on TV Essential Bielsa stays and build on what we have done IF we remain in this division, if we get promoted it’s still important he remains but not as vital. If I could have two players as a 27 year old, Strachan and Speed I think, due to injuries I was tempted to go for someone like Dorigo but replacing Harrison with Speed and Klich with Strachan would do it I’m sure. I nearly went for Kewell at his best but Speed and Strachan would have got the fans right up for it and nobody would dare slack with Strachan
Morning all. Not too bothered about Bamford. Hes an idiot for what he did and would much prefer to see Roofe back in his proper position for remainder of season. I actually think we were far more consistent when Bamford was out injured. As for Bielsa, theres a very important point everyone seems to be missing. Most if not all of our backroom team, who are likely the best weve ever had, are Bielsa people and have followed him everywhere. If he moves on, they will likely follow leaving a huge rebuilding job yet again. Its imperative he's with us next season
