Good Morning. It's Friday 2nd October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Ornstein - The deal collapsed because Cuisance failed his medical

Respected journalist David Ornstein has insisted that the 20m signing of Michael Cuisance collapsed because the Bayern player failed his medical.

The former BBC sports correspondent, now working at the Athletic with Phil Hay has been following the story closely since coming to light earlier this week.

The French youth international arrived in Yorkshire on Wednesday to complete his transfer after saying his goodbyes to his teammates.

The medical showed underlying injury problems; so much so that Cuisance flew back to Germany that evening.

Let's go all the way back to 2000 when Leeds signed Dominic Matteo. The former Liverpool star failed his medical but Leeds signed him anyway.

Leeds withheld the 4.25m fee due to Liverpool until Matteo was pronounced fit.

An Elland Road spokesman was quoted as saying: "He is a proven quality player within the Premiership, which means we're not gambling on whether he can fit into a Premiership team."

Matteo became one of our best players of that era.

Was Cristiano Ronaldo cast to one side when he tore his Collateral Ligament or fractured his knee cap?

Would Citeh tell Lionel Messi that they have lost interest in him due to past injuries like Medial Collateral Ligament Knee Injury or Torn Muscle Bundle where the thigh loses its ability to contract?

French Media outlet rubbish Ornstein's comments

French Soccertelevision channel 'Tele Foot TF1' are rubbishing reports that Michael Cuisance failed his medical, and further claim that representatives of Bayern Munich believe the deal can be resurrected.

TF1 are reporting that it fell through as a result of several disagreements between Leeds and the Bundesliga giants about some details of the deal. They further insist that there were no problems with C

The French outlet insists that the 21-year-old passed his medical examinations. Leeds are yet to officially comment on the matter

.....or when van nistelrooy failed a medical at scum and they sent him back to Holland. Within weeks he had done his ACL and was out of the game for a year.

They went and got him once he had proved his fitness.

Good morning Ell btw. A bit early for you this?

Obviously Ell has been up all night worrying about poor Cuisance.

You know its bad when no Leeds fans report seeing Orta at Manchester Airport on Friday early morning. Hoping he flew out last night<laugh>

Feel for the kid and His club spinning a story about how they couldn't agree payment terms, is just to protect their player we need to move now if we are going after a South American due to work permit requirements. europeans need completing this weekend but have until 16th if we buy from England

Morning all and what a fine sunny spring morning it was,

Probably couldn't agree terms as the contract was subject to the medical and possibly we tried to say well how about a £5 mill discount until he has played x number of games as a result of this issue we have found

Need a new CM and would be happy with another winger. Not holding out hope for either but I don't think we need to be stupid and throw money at any player because this deal broke down.

20m is a lot of money and we don't want to risk another JKA, Forshaw or Roberts, especially for 20m. 20m for an injured player or no player at all, I'd go for no player at all. Step up Gelhardt!

    Morning all...

Crazy the amount of times I read medical passed and 5 year contract signed, I think Eric (and Chesh yesterday) have nailed it on the head. Problem discovered so wanted to renegotiate and Bayern said no. Bielsa wants a player who will be ready in 4 weeks not later.

Benrhama scored a nice goal yesterday, his celebration pointing to the name on his back, he wants a move.

Wasn't Bielsa put off of Benrahma? And I think Brentford want about 25m for him which is crazy money considering we got Spain's no.9 for a couple of million more. I'd take Benrahma at 12-15m though. I see him more as a winger too.

It will be interesting to see who we go for in CM as a lot of players we've been linked with are attacking midfielders or wingers but we seem to want another Klich/no.8 type player instead. Buendia would be decent but I think Bielsa would want him to lose a lot of weight and again doesn't really fit in with what we're after.

    Morning all,

I've been reading that it was Bielsa who killed this transfer.
Whatever the medical staff found meant that it would be a long time until not only was he fit but then up to the fitness standards of the rest of the squad and then able to train and get used to our style.
This means, no matter how good he is, we would be spending 20 million on a player who would be more for next season.

Although potentially Cantwell or De Paul, maybe even Kent, are not up to the French lads quality they are good players who can come into the squad and make an almost instanteous impact.

Morning everyone, couple of things gentlemen.

Elland have you fallen out with me!!!! i asked you why Victimpool are not on the 606 forum? never gave me a reply.

If it is Bielsa that has scuppered the Cuisance deal because of an injury he has then it all points to what i said a few days ago, he wants players fit and be raring to go, Koch has done a Ben White of last year straight in, getting better by each game, all this points to Amigo not in PL to make the numbers up..... he is in it to win it. I must admit i have not seen him irate as he was at Anfield, he could smell blood there.

Oh sorry, one more........What the fck was that coke sniffing slime ball Ferdinand doing going around interviewing our players and poking his ugly mug around TA, tell him to GTF we dont want him anywhere near us.

According to Phil Hay they discovered a problem with his left foot and baring in mind hes left footed...... the player obviously fit enough and could pass the medical, however there is a potential for serious injury to the foo and would need weeks to recover from it if it flared up. Bielsa then referred it back to Rob Price who said it was too much of a gamble. The player was then informed and was shocked and immediately left for the airport

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Cuisance wants to leave Bayern for more first team football. Maybe he told Bielsa he WILL be playing and Marcelo told him to feck off?

My hunch is that Bielsa met him and didn’t like his attitude or he thought he’d be able to walk straight into the team, maybe wanted an assurance of game time. If he was the right player for MB I’m sure he’d have been happy to wait for him to prove himself.

Rodrigo has proved that nobody walks straight into a Bielsa team, White and Koch exceptions as needs must. Llorente might have to wait some time mind you.

The U23s take on Boro this afternoon at TA be interesting to see what team we put out as we have the U21s playing Barrow on Monday in the EFL Cup. Will we field the U18s for that and get spanked or will we actually try and field a good team to beat Barrow, which would mean the U23s playing twice in 3 days?

We could always play Douglas, Davies, Struijk, Gotts, Shaks, Bogusz along with Summerville, Dramah, Greenwood and Van de Thingy and Gelhardt today?

Think Barrow is Tuesday, so shouldn't be much of an issue.
