    Good Morning Everyone

Are Leeds going to invest in the January transfer window?

Unfortunately, it looks increasingly likely that Victor Orta's main target will be Toon reserve keeper Karl Darlow.

The 28 yo has 50 Premiership appearances on his resume, though has spent the majority of his career on loan in the Championship or league 1.

With the likes of Wayne Hennessey and Saints giant Fraser Forster supposedly available on loan, why would Leeds splash out 4.5m on a relatively inexperienced shot stopper?

Patrick Bamford has been ruled out of Saturdays home Clash against Hull and New Years day trip to Forest.

There is however a good chance that Roberts will be fit for the Forest game!

According to the Scottish Sun (so it must be true) Leeds are interested in signing Brighton and Eire U21 centre forward Aaron Connolly.

They face competition from Manchester City, Manchester United, Celtic, QPR, Nillwall and Hoffenheim.

Connolly has been in lethal form for Brighton’s Under-23s this season, scoring 16 goals in 15 appearances across all competitions.

Oh - How the mighty have fallen...

Whilst Leeds more or less dominate the Championship with the prospects of returning to the big time, please spare a thought for Burnley who have slipped into the relegation places over Christmas.

In particular Chris Wood (netted only three times in 24 appearances this season), Charlie Taylor (in and out of a struggling team) and not forgetting Vydra (nabbed in front of our noses whilst we were discussing what squad number he wanted).

    Morning Matt and all.

Darlow seems a strange one to me, a lot of money for someone we could have hardly seen play, so what is it that the club see in him, would prefer the two mentioned on loan and spend the money out field.
Shame about Bamford but he will always be a sicknote, unfortunately.

We'll be linked with one man and his dog from npw until the end of Jan, tbh i take little notice of any of the rumours.

On MOT I tipped Burnley has 1 of the 3 to go down this season, just had a feeling about them. Taylor was a prat the way he acted, Vydra very likely did what 99% of footballers would have done. Can fully understand why Wood went, even though he never looked likely to be of premier league quality, you have to give it a go, especially the age he was, lets not forget the season before his wonder season, he got dogs abuse from a good number of our fans, earning himself the nickname Plank by some, so why would he show any loyalty.

    Morning all...

I’d imagine all possible keeper signings would have been run past Bielsa who would have watched some footage before he identified which one would be best suited. Whoever Bielsa wants I hope we just get it done and dusted nearer to the window opening rather than shutting.

    Cellino poisoned Taylor’s mind
“Taylor is represented by Colin Pomford, an agent who also works on behalf of former United defender Sam Byram. A fall-out between Cellino and Pomford contributed to the bitter situation which saw Byram quit Leeds for West Ham United in January, six months before the end of his deal.”

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

On the transfer front there are 3 main stories still doing the rounds from yesterday

    1. Fabri from Fulham which would be a better option than Darlow for me and would be about the same cost. Phil Hay reckons Darlow is the one they want to get done fast, but if they are indeed talking to Fulham .... I agree with OP that Forster would be ideal but we do know we will have a new keeper.
    2. Bowen is still being talked up by the whole media even though the club and Phil hay have said it wont happen. Some papers talking about £20m but sensible ones talking about £6.5m however we do know Hull are greedy and will want £10m so this is a deal I cant see happening.
    3. Ibai Gomez story will not lie down so we shall see
Suspect it will be silly season leading up to the window opening next week and we will be mentioned in loads of stories, but the main story for me is the one also mentioned by Phil Hay. Intention is now required by the club to demonstrate that this season is different. Even if cash is hard to come up with this is the time to take that gamble to ensure success.

If we are promoted what a pleasure it would be waving to these three coming down to play their football at the level they clearly are suited to

I have no sympathy for Taylor or Vydra whatsoever

The only thing that worries me is getting the right player in. One that'll fit in and not rock the boat. I appreciate we need strengthening, but to buy for the sake of buying, to appease the fans would be wrong IMO,<ok>

Byram and Taylor were held up as examples of just how good our academy was, yet they have been flops since leaving and struggle to get game time. Taylor couldn't get a game in a very poor Burnley team and Byram had the same in a very poor WHU team, so went to Forest. How can you compare these 2 to some of the talent we now have coming out of the academy. The last player who came through our academy who actually lived up to his reputation was Fabian Delph who we blooded when we were in L1. And Lewis Cook

Morning all. Here’s a tip on narrowing down list of possible targets. Look at the ones valued at less than 3m or more likely loanees returning from injury then run that list past Bielsa. Would be infinitely more likely than 10m pound signings

    Good morning all
Going back to the keeper bit, what an addition Fraser Forster would be,coming from southampton i have always had one eye on their results,i remember him going about ten games unbeaten, pulling off some memorable performances before losing favore,in my mind a quality premier league keeper, who would relish & flourish if given a chance with the new Leeds Utd

So it seems Derby have blown their cash which means player sales to finance any new arrivals, or to the loan market for Lampard. I see Derby starting to fall behind in the title race.

Forest have invested heavily to bring in Karanka last season and back him with loads of cash for big players. Forest are not where they hoped to be and Karanka is now under pressure and could lose his job soon

I still say Wilf that Westwood ticks all the boxes and not Darlow and we could get him for 500k he has been POTY at 2 clubs
I don't know anything about Bowen perhaps the Doc can shows us some videos nor can I throw any light on Connolly
Pleased we didn't get Vydra must be bad if he can;;t get into a poor Burnley side
