Good Morning Everyone The new club crest will not be sorted out until the 2019/20 season Season ticket holders and club members were due to have their say on the crest in a vote beginning yesterday. It is understood that Leeds have received a total of 1,200 submissions from fans. The delay means United will continue to use the so-called ‘Ridsdale shield’ as their crest next season. A club spokesman said: “Due to the volume of ideas and designs submitted by fans and their focus around celebrating our 100-year anniversary, we can confirm that we will now be introducing a new club crest on the shirt for the 2019-20 centenary season and beyond. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all fans for the inspiration they have provided which, following further consultation with supporters’ groups, will form the basis of a democratic vote later this year. “We look forward to our loyal and passionate fans selecting a crest that will proudly herald in the next 100 years.” Hernandez picked up as a groin strain in Wednesdays 2-2 draw at Pride Park and is doubtful for tomorrows clash against Brentford. Bees midfielder Nico Yennaris is also set to miss the clash. Noel Whelan has savaged Felix Wiedwald for his lack of communication Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds after the Derby draw: "The one thing that I would expect from my goalkeeper is information, lots of talking, letting people know, dictating where you want your defenders. "He's given nothing tonight. Absolutely nothing. "It's not the first time and this time was a crucial one. "You could see [Liam] Cooper in his face shouting at him, tell me something, give me something, some information. Nothing, absolutely nothing", he added. Heckingbottom has been speaking to the press about Alioski! According to Heckingbottom, Alioski is a genuine player who has a strong desire to play every minute of every game and in the process "beats himself up a bit", putting pressure on himself. “I’m pleased for him. He’s another player who’s so genuine", Heckingbottom told a press conference. “He wants to play every minute of every game, he wants to give you everything and probably beats himself up a bit, puts pressure on himself and judges himself too harshly." On the player's performance overall and his fulfilling defensive roles in some instances, Heckingbottom added: “A couple of his defensive positions were superb. "One, he picked up a loose ball from Derby and broke and another one, two minutes later, Derby looked in a dangerous position and he was on the edge of the box, restricting Bradley Johnson to a shot. "That’s first class and that’s from a wide player. “They’re the positions I wanted him to take up and they’re the things I want to see over and over again.”
Good morning all... In the 4-4-2 that PH favours we’ll be a better team without Pablo or 4-4-1-1 Don’t get me wrong, when played in the right position he can be a game changer but left winger he isn’t. He cuts in, he leaves the LB exposed and he has zero defence capabilities. Alioski to start wide left, Saiz and Phillips both starting and I can smell a win. Only change might be Anita for De Brock? Noel Whelan is a bit of a prick who does my head in. Firstly he was **** for us, we’d forget who he was if he wasn’t forever slagging someone off. Yesterday he was slating Orta saying all his signings were rubbish, Whelan puts a downer on everything Leeds
On Pablo he also needs a break Avery few games so if he’s injured it’s no bad thing as we have Sais back I posted at length my thoughts on our defence v Derby, de Brock was awful positionally and also missed interceptions he should have made so would not mind him sidelined. The other big big defensive liability was Felix but I’m less sure we have better options. Think we need a new GK You may be right about Whelsn but Felix really has to do a lot better, there is no way the defence trusts him
Good Morning to Matt Rik and co from a very frosty Bardsey I think that Whelan is very passionate about Leeds you can tell when they score and I agree with him Felix reminds me of a stufed dummy he does not communicate which affects the defence especially Now for the good news Virgin are giving away tickets from Leeds to London for £16 return and there are lots to buyI have just bought my daughter her tickets for the 8 may returning 10 Soi anyone planning on travelling to leeds buy now
Good morning. Ever been to that pub in Felixkirk (near Thirsk). I think it’s called the Carpenters Arms. I went there the other week, food was very good.
no but I will look it up we have been toying with the idea of going to the Magpie now it has reopened again but I shall wait well the cold snap disappears
I ate in the bar area as it’s more relaxing, thought their dining room was a bit soul less but personal taste. I’d recommend giving it a try. Where’s the Magpie, I’m not local so only try places when I’m visiting Yorkshire
Read your thoughts and agreed with most but again, did you notice De Brock was better with Alioski in front of him? I’m not saying De Brock never had a stinker but with Hernandez going awol on the left De Brock was clueless about what he was supposed to be doing. It’s easy to say when Saiz was introduced we were better but it wasn’t just him. I’m not sure if Roofe was supposed to be sitting deep or alongside Lasogga, either way he wasn’t doing anything. Saiz knew his role and position and carried it out sitting between midfield and Lasogga. Phillips was a vast improvement on Vieira creating a link, filling in spaces, picking out simple yet effective passes and tackling. Alioski played the wing, the opposition wasn’t sure if he would run the line or cut inside, he got back and defended to. I have little doubt we will see Phillips, Alioski and Saiz starting, just depends on De Brock, I’m hoping we don’t see Dallas at RB as he put in a real shift on the right wing.
Morning 60 Dont post much but had to say went to the Maggie yesterday its as good as ever. They some pictures inside after the fire there was not much left. The rebuild I'd excellent. Enjoy your next visit.
The thing is with Felix, we have him or Lonergan. For me there is no question Felix is the better of the two. Until we get to next season we can’t change that situation and Felix doesn’t cope with fans on his back, his confidence is shot too easily. We know we need better but until the window reopens we need to get behind him a bit more. Most keepers in this division put in some shockers, it’s the caliber we’re stuck with when the PL probably have 4 keepers each on their books and that’s not including youth players. Would love to see Whelan and his reaction every time he missed a goal and some nobody criticised him every game. That’s if he even made the starting 11 I seem to remember him being a bit part everywhere he went.
The whole team was better after the subs came on. I get the point about Pablo but the things I marked de Brock down for were down to him not downnto lacking cover. I think sadly he was found wanting too often. Roofe can only play well as a proper striker, I wish people would stop playing him in other roles Alioski was improvement too, think he and Sais fit well together
Its Murgatroyds today Moe doesn't fancy the North York Moors this weather but thank you so much for your update are the staff the same Alison Audrey etc
That is two games under Oh Heck now that we have looked better after substitutions. Is he starting the wrong team or is he very good at reading games? Mind you he didn't have to be a genius to work out Saiz was going to improve things. De Bock was on his own a bit down the left with Pablo cutting in so much. Do we put his poor performance down to this and give him another go with Alioski in front? Before Wednesday he had done an ok job for us.
The Magpie is probably the best fish restaurant in the UK I have been going for 40 years its opposite the landing dock .Well worth a visit
20 just been on the site its 32 minutes from us and it looks just my kind of place and the good food not this nouvelle cuisine rubbish I will definitely give it a tryt and probably book for the night
Lovely little church just found the corner if you like that sort of thing. Also in nice weather sitting outside there’s some lovely views (marred by power lines ) No it’s not nouvelle cuisine, they do basics well and do have some nice slightly more elaborate dishes, but it’s all unpretentious which I like. Nice staff. (No I’m not on commission but maybe I should be)
