Same team that was ‘largely outplayed’. We were poor in the second half but largely outplayed?

He’s giving them a chance to redeem themselves and saying he has belief in them. .. or he’s just just bloody minded... or he simply doesn’t see any better alternatives with the squad. Or all of the above!

It’s the Roberts-Bamford axis that has something to prove in this formation, I’m surprised he hasn’t reverted to Pablo at 10, Douglas to lb, and Ali to left wing. But I can see why he’s sticking with it... it needs to deliver tho’

I was surprised by the outplayed comment as well Milky. But that's an estate agent for you. Always prone to stretch the truth...

Morning all I’m amazed Roberts is keeping his place and that Alioski isn’t playing further forward.

I think we all have faith in Bielsa but I can’t see this one ending well if I’m honest.

I’d put £8 on Pablo to score anytime and £8 on Gayle to score anytime and a double for them to both score

    Morning All,

It will be interesting to see who the subs are, I don't bet but hate those who bet against the team they support just so they can feel smug either way.

See you all on the other side, drinks and perhaps some sleep between now and the game

I would also like to address the some what hysterical responses after our defeat against QPR. Some saying we should have beaten them easily because they had lost 7 on the bounce. Look at the games they did lose.

    Sheffield United 1 - 0 Queens Park Ra…
    Sat 19/01/19 CHA Queens Park Ra… 1 - 4 Preston North End

    Sat 02/02/19 CHA Wigan Athletic 2 - 1 Queens Park Ra…

    Sat 09/02/19 CHA Queens Park Ra… 3 - 4 Birmingham City

    Bristol City 2 - 1 Queens Park Ra…

    Tue 19/02/19 CHA Queens Park Ra… 2 - 3 West Bromwich …
Sat 23/02/19 CHA Middlesbrough 2 - 0 Queens Park Ra

They were unlucky in a lot of them. So IMO this game was a lot tougher than some were making out. In saying that, if we want autos, we need to be winning these matches.<ok>

I’m guessing either he doesn’t think Douglas is fully fit yet... or he just thinks Ali is a better left back than he is winger (Which on the evidence I’ve seen does seem to be the case) and it’s a balancing act of pros and cons.

I like Roberts, think he’s a talented lad, but it’s a lot of pressure to put on an inexperienced kid in a key position... and a new position to him.

Morning all. Look at the number of goals they conceded in those losses though. Makes our ‘0’ look all the more stark. Truly worried about tonight’s game, our goals have dried up and we can’t seem keep a clean sheet, not a good combination. Good job I’m getting on the Guinness early so will watch through a drunken haze.

Morning all. Busy day ahead thankfully. Not particularly looking forward to tonight if its a repeat of recent stuff. Hopefully itll be a quality performance. Kind of reverse psychology on my part

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

£20 on Robbie Gotts to score

As far as result tonight goes I'm hoping the ref has Gayle's card marked and gives us a penalty. I'm hoping Bamford finds his boots again and gets a couple, and as long as we win not bothered about the score. If we don't win I will settle for a scrappy draw and will will happily think about my mate Shaks spilling his 4th bottle of Newky down his shirt.

I have a theory about our performances. Our best wins have come when we are playing the ball out of defence with flair and pace and getting the ball from back to front in quick time. memorable performances against Derby twice and Norwich first time spring to mind. Our worst performances seem to be when we struggle to get the ball out of defence and can revert to lumping it up a few times in the match. Is this a tactic for some teams, or something we fall back on when struggling. Seems to happen when teams press us and not give us time....?? When you lump it the ball comes back at you quicker meaning defending rather than keep ball attack

I wouldn't class my reaction to losing to QPR as hysterical because, as you have said yourself, if we want autos we categorically need to be winning these games. I know we don't have a right to win every game but we are now in a position where we cannot afford to slip up or rely on others to cock it up. We appear to have a tougher run-in than those above us. The next 4 games are really going to shape where we end up.

    Good morning all
No way can we put in another poor performance as we did against QPR,quite Possible WBA could feel the backlash from that and take a drubbing ;).
What was that QPR conceded eighteen goals in seven, untill they met us,i have a feeling it could be a bigish scoreline in our favour this time. However i'm putting the ten quid on the draw 2-2 at 12/1, and a tenner on the reverse scoreline at the Hawthorns a 4-1 Leeds win.

People aren’t interested in the detail shaks. It doesn’t matter that they lost to a terrible penalty decision injury time at Bristol city where they more than held their own, that they were a match against the blunts who scored from practically their only chance of the match, they missed a penalty in injury time for a draw against brum. The West Brom winner was undeserved, in injury time and against 10 men. They battered Wigan, the Boro game was pretty even.

I always skim through match reports of the opposition before we play them... they’d been making bad defensive mistakes (not unlike us) during this run and had zero luck. It always changes... and it was bound to be against us!

Milky, imho they were the worst side I’ve seen us play all season. We completely threw three points away that could end up costing us dearly.

All about opinions bud. People were using the seven game losing run as evidence, and in one respect it is... my point was simply that during that run they’d played a number of top sides and frankly were unlucky to lose to all of them. Whereas if you were a neutral you’d say they were a bit fortunate to get the win against us. Just context.

I watched them lose to WBA and they were only unlucky in as much as they had a player go off after they had made all their subs,WBA could easily have scored 5.

Well you watched the game and that’s your opinion fella. I didn’t, so am only relaying second hand info from the few match reports I saw which have a different perspective, and also included the chances qpr could easily have scored with.
