Good Morning Everyone Soccer pundit Keith Andrews has had a change of heart over Spygate following Bielsa's impromptu press conference on Wednesday evening! He explained he is still unimpressed by spying on opponents’ training sessions but is stunned by the work ethic and level of detail of the Leeds manager. “There’s a misconception about what I think about Leeds and what I think about him,” Andrews told the Off the Ball programme. “What I love about him is that intensity and the detail he goes into. All those hours that he spends, and his coaching staff, working behind the scenes, you can imagine them being in a bunker, not even sleeping. “I have nothing but admiration for the way he does that. Everybody associated with Leeds is going to lap it up. He was already on a pedestal for what he has done at that football club. It has been phenomenal, because he hasn’t actually spent much money. “The Powerpoint presentation was phenomenal. He must have a severe amount of manpower beneath him to be able to do that. That’s on a different scale and spectrum. Most clubs at Championship level haven’t got that at their disposal. It was just like, ‘wow’, I’ve never heard anything like it, in all my time in football.” Not to shy away from the lime light, Ian Holloway wanted to have his say on Spygate, and what he would have done had he caught the spy!!! “If one of my staff had seen him over there, kidnapped him, duct taped him – seriously – there’s no rules in my life about that. I’d have thrown him back into Bielsa’s room and said: ‘There you go,’ and I’d have written all my tactics down on his chest. “That (watching training) is wrong, we all know it’s wrong, we all know when players dive it’s wrong. Something’s got to be done. “Is it (wrong to duct tape someone)? Not if he’s cheating it ain’t, not in my book. My dad would have done that to me.” You're not in Bermondsey now Ian! Leeds have turned down an approach from Crystal Palace for Jack Clarke. Seriously - Crystal Palace!!!! Should Leeds go up to the Prem, which players would be good enough to stay the course?
Morning Ell. In my opinion Keith Andrews is a nobody and Holloway is a village idiot I would hope that all offers for Jack Clarke are dismissed out of hand. He is the future for the club if we want to progress As you say Crystal Palace !!!! You must be joking
Andrews feeling the heat from the backlash he's recieved trying to smooth the waters for himself. Holloway normally only as good things to say about us, so I'll go lightly on him, but there as to be a good reason why you haven't managed a club for so long, when you desperately want to manage Ian, oh yeah, it's because your a dinosaur in footballing terms. Palace, now that would be embarrassing losing him to them, he has to stay at any cost, we'll need him in the prem. As it stands, the way MB as the team playing, we'd be lower mid table in the premier but wiuld need 3 additions to stay there, Casilla should be a good start. 3 more of that Ilk and we'd be upper mid table. ps I was out in Cannock last night no sign of Stan.
Morning all... I’d imagine someone has said to Andrews his career as a pundit has been flushed down the pan so he’s trying to make amends. Holloway has shown everyone who didn’t already know that he is a bit of a clown. Hard to say who is good enough, not sure who has the capability to move up a level and who hasn’t under Bielsa they all look good. As a starting point I would be building a team around Pontus, Phillips and Clarke, I’d hope for a better season out of Douglas, Roofe maybe? Roofes movement would cause anyone problems
Everything that needed saying done above Only thing to add from me so far is a tranny update which seems to have gone off the boil. The O'Dowda thing has been sorted because his agent used it to get a pay rise and new contract. Swansea think Leeds will pay loads for young James and they are wrong so wont happen now I guess. Ibai Gomez in an interview was asked if Leeds had made him an offer and he said yes. There were teams from the premier league and Leeds Utd. He was asked if he had spoken to Bielsa and said not directly but we have ways to communicate on a regular basis. I had a big choice to make because I had a good time and played well for Bielsa and knew I would again, but felt I wanted to stay in Spain right now.
Morning all. Lots more changed their minds after the Bielsa powerpoint, it wasnt just Andrews. Suspect the FA likely the same. As for Jack Clarke. As long as were in with a shout at promotion, I dont believe hell go anywhere
FFS I was on Twatter last night, just having a nose on collymores site. I wish I hadn't. What a load of anti Leeds Utd bollocks he spouts. It took a lot for me not to say something. He brought the racist card into it, thats when you know he losing the argument. Oh for the love of anything, please please Leeds Utd get promoted this season.
Clarke is a very good prospect Eire. He could and hopefully will prove to be a fantastic player. But he's only developing and in footballing terms is a novice. He would be a fool to jump ship now. Hopefully it won't happen. Yes I know money talks.
Clarke's agent is Ian Harte and he convinced young Jack to join Leeds rather than Man City, so I'm guessing Harte would be thinking best for jacks career is stay and play under Bielsa rather than earn a big wage and not play? I can imagine the shyte Harte will get from Leeds fans if he moves
What I dont get though is why doesnt the club offer new contracts along the following lines. Ok Jack heres a new 5 year contract on 15k a week while were in Championship. That automatically becomes 50k a week in the pl. Same applies to Pontus, Kemar and a few more. Doesnt technically cost the club anything as the PL megabucks will more than cover it
Maybe the club is waiting to see IF we get promoted. We've also had problems in the past by offering long contracts. I'd be a bit worried if we offered the youngsters big wages at this stage of their careers, because it may lessen their hunger and youthful enthusiasm. But that's just my own humble opinion.
