Does this mean 9m, plus what remains of the Wood money going into the transfer kitty or is the money reserved for something else? Why didn't our Chairman just dip his hands in his own pocket, they're deep enough? Let's not forget, we have a sell on clause on Danny Rose that should net us 5m - suddenly things don't look that bad!!! Thoughts? Posh frontman Jack Marriott has been placed on the transfer list. The 23 yo has baged 27 goals and 4 assists last season, so not surpringly a host of Championship and Scottish Premier club are being linked with him. Is Marriott the answer - is he worth 5 - 6m? Leeds journo let it slip that Leeds first priority this Summer is to capture Kyle Bartle, more so then his team mate McBurnie. Elland I refer you to the Mike Thornton stuff I posted last night, which will answer your question. At the moment there isn't an investor buying 10%, as those shares are owned by Radz, but he is getting ready to sell to either a US investor or from Singapore and the expected investment will be circa £11m. It also explains about the Wood money etc. Marriot should be a top priority as he will go for around £5m as they put him on the transfer list. Will we invest in a proven goalscorer (Lg1 level) or will he be bought by a relegated club or a club expecting to be fighting to go up next Summer. Its all about ambition and having the money and the next month will show how much of both we have. Yes Bartley is being touted as coming back but Swansea being relegated need him especially if they lose players, and is Bartley going to be fit enough after 2 serious knee injuries. I think this is wishful thinking
Good morning Matt & all Because as I've always suspected he is a businessman & not a Leeds United or even a football man Still unconvinced about Radz motives, nothing new he has done in the last month has changed my opinion after a disastrous year since his arrival at ER Scored some fine goals for the Posh, only seen clips of the lad. Haven't seen him play so is always difficult to judge ! Jack may well be the answer, the key is can he do the business at a higher level ? I know I've only seen McBurnie play one game when the tykes came to ER, personally I wasn't that impressed with him !
McBurnie aside who is young but got himself a great record at Barnsley. We already have young strikers like Tyler Roberts who we havent seen yet, we also have the likes of jack Clarke, Ryan Edmondson and Sam Dalby all knocking on the door. We assume that Grot, Ekuban, Cibicki, Antonnson are surplus to requirements, but can see nobody wanting Ekuban so still here. We do need a recognised experienced goal scorer
We were linked with Marriot in January in an exchange deal to send Tomlin back to Posh. Rumoured that Barry Fry quashed the deal and It didn't come off. Marriott stayed where he was and Tomlin went to Forest on loan. I'd have taken Marriott in a heartbeat - he's very quick - we ended up paying £5M for Madine instead.
Morning all. Agree with 64,hes said a lot of what I would have.What I have grown utterly fed up of though is season after season discussing non existent finances. Money borrowed from a to pay off b and shares changing hands for millions, yet doesnt transfer to where I want to see it, a quality team to watch fighting for top two spots just like Cardiff Brighton and Burnley did in recent times. Im making a vow here today not to get involved here, twitter or elsewhere re club accounts
