A little while ago I subjected myself to watching Michael Carrick closely during your games. It was an unpleasant experience. The reason being that loads of you rate him and I just didn't get it. I then posted a thread admitting that I had changed my mind and I could see his worth in your team. I even listed a couple of strengths and weaknesess. The position that Carrick and Lucas play sometimes means that their worth is not noticed. Loads of you lot have stated on many occasions that you don't rate Lucas so I challenge you to do as I did and watch him closely over the next month or so as I did. (I watched 3 full games) and report your honest opinion.
There is a YouTube vid of IT. Can't be bothered to find it but it is funny it sort of goes, introduction - blank screen - the end.
I have been watching him Gonzo, ever since your lot started making claims about him being so good , and to be honest I just don't see it. He is decent at protecting the back four and breaking play up - but only decent. For me it just shows how much LFC fans have come to accept average players when they are willing to rave about Lucas so much. In summary : Decent footballer who can do a certain job well but massively overrated by your lot.
If you've made a point of watching his specific performance then fine but I just don't get your point , he is good at breaking up play but also a very effective passer of the ball. I don't want to voice my opinion much as it would influence someone watching him. I did the same with Carrick I just watched the games and posted the thread without anyone prompting me to his pros and cons.
I'm not just saying it because he's a Liverpool player Luv, I do think he is decent. He does use the ball ok, rarely gives it away, but I don't think that's good enough for him to be spoken about the way some LFC fans talk about him.
**** me Red , Bebe has played for Portugals U21s - does this mean he is actually the next big thing after all ?? Hurray. The day I start using international appearances as a marker for my own perception of how good a football player is will the day I get some fake tits and call myself QueenErica
I do and always have agreed with what Eric essentially said, he's a trundler who plays in front of the back four and does some useful ok stuff but nothing more. I think that, as a footballer, he is above average but way below the position that he's rated by Liverpool fans. No where near the world or european class he's elevated to. You would honestly think that he's top four or five CM's in world football the way you go an about him but he just simply is not, no one is ever interested in him. Not one club in Europe ever sniffs round, his name is never mentioned as a potential transfer target of anyone and that tells you all you need to know. He's ok, no more. I will try to watch him though but as that means sitting through a Liverpool game not involving us I can't promise that.
C'mon guys someone needs to step up. I bloody did it and although my opinion of Carrick did change it wasn't the most interesting things to do. You are going to have to get over yourselves if you think I love watching you play, I usually turn off if you're winning.
Watching United is a pleasant experience for all. Fan or not. Watching Liverpool is a punishment. Fan or not. Why should we be punished for Suarez' mistakes?
