Could hardly hear anybody sing. It almost sounded like a library it was so quiet. So strange. Of course then they got 2 lucky goals from deflections and that woke them up a bit, didn't it? But that was about it.
Have you got lost or taken the wrong turn somewhere along the way? Do us a favour and keep your thoughts for your own board.
Fair enough, but I think the fact that it was a Monday night game and there were no (zero) trains back to London after the game may have had something to do with low away support. If I remember correctly the club provided free coach travel for those who could make it. That's what you get when everything is organised around TV. Were you there Tobes? What was the atmosphere like and what was going on with the tannoy, sounded really strange on the telly? Hope you kick on now, I have a lot of time for Martinez and your club looks (to an outsider) to be well run. Had a pop at Barkley yesterday, but he was a class above anything we have and you have a great record in developing and finding young talent.
It's a multi club forum, we played you last night and the thread is about the atmosphere. So pipe down you tit.
I'm a pass holder but I live 150 miles away and couldn't get away from work yesterday, so had to watch it on the box. The atmosphere there needs a spark at the best of times, and it was flat until we scored last night, the lack of away banter won't have helped that either tbf. I get the travel thing, not easy on a Monday night, but I'd have expected more of you tbh. Barkley had his best game in ages yesterday, the change of position seemed to suit him. We've got a decent batch of youngsters coming through behind him, so the future looks OK. Good luck for the rest of the season - I reckon you'll stay up
Poor form that. A symptom of a bit of creeping frustration at Martinez possession football. Sometimes it seems like aimless passing across the backline. What triggered that last night was a freekick in an attacking position that ended up being passed back to Howard.
No, it's the first time I've heard it. The booing towards the end when we were just keeping the ball and seeing the game out @ 3-1 was pathetic, some proper flutes at the game at times.
I must say I was very surprised at the booing. I thought that Everton supporters were more cultured than Liverpoo. Anyway, I hope that your team stop the boo boys soon.
It was the quietest game I've seen on TV for a long time. You could hear Redknapp shouting instructions to Barton 2nd half easily "Stay Joey. Watch yourself, you know" He was afraid he'd get sent off. Pity he didn't
At least he wasn't yelling "IT'S DIFFICULT - THEY'RE A TOP SIDE!" to all our players during the game... :0/
Who can blame our away attendance when we’ve got a negative mug like redknapp in charge. Haven’t even tried to score a goal against in any of our away games so far this season let alone win a game. We are now 9 away games into the season which includes Burton away have conceded 23 goals and scored 2 goals. 1 was a worldy pulled of the blue and the other a cheeky flick from a player suspended yesterday. So is it any surprise that we didn’t bring many fans on a monday night sly game before xmas?! It’s a product of Redknapps f**ing stupid approach where he set out a f**ing stupid approach where we didn’t even try and score a goal let alone win a game. Newcastle, Swansea, Spurs, West Ham amd United were all completely pathetic attempts from a bad bad manager with an inferiority complex that could learn a thing or 2 from Sean Dyche and Ian Holloway and there approach in games they had no right to get anything from in this league. Also what should be remembered is that with Liverpool being such a s**t hole and not exactly a honey pot for west Londoners looking for well paid jpbs and an improved standard of living and Rangers being a small club it’s not as if there’s any community of fans living in the area. Everton or any otherclub would for that matter playing against a side in London would benefit from such fans getting a chance to go along and watch their side closer to home
Check out the video on the "Redknapp woes" thread Matt. How many "difficult's" does he get in there in between slurps of tea from his Everton cup, particularly in the last couple of minutes? Couldn't count them all myself, it was too difficult...
I think it should be taken as read that there are 19 good teams (and us) and that it really is difficult (and tough). We could probably cut the pre and post match interviews down to a clean 2 minutes of (meaningful?) content.
So basically you're in the same position as all the rangers fans who couldn't make it! Understandable for you and understandable for them.
