As most of us know there is plenty of Chelsea players out on loan and I would like to explore what most of the Chelsea fans think we should be doing with them when they return at the end of the season

So I will give the list of the player, where they have played, what position and how many appearances they have made if possible and maybe a description of their progress

What you must do is put next to their name whether we should send them on loan again (put LOAN next to their name), bring them back into the first team squad (put BACK) or sell them on as they have no future with the club (put SELL), note with the LOAN option, put where you think they should go on loan, whether it be to the same club, a different club or a certain league

    So here we go:

Romelu Lukaku - ST - West Brom - Has been clear to see that he is doing well, has been a goal threat and at only 19 has plenty of room and time for improvement.

Verdict: LOAN to West Brom once more as long as Clarke is still the manager as a change could affect the progress and playing time of Lukaku, he isnt ready for Chelsea yet, not because of ability but because of the fact he wont want to sit on the bench at Chelsea, plus another year at a Premier league club could do him wonders

    - - -

Kevin De Bruyne - AM - Werder Bremen - This is a pickling situation, we sent De Bruyne to Bremen to accommodate Marko Marin and so far it has backfired, De Bruyne has been impressing for Bremen whilst Marin hasnt been able to start until QPR the other day, and he could easily have been sent off inside a few minutes. De Bruyne has scored 4 goals this half season and has been versatile as he has even played up front for Bremen

Verdict: BACK or LOAN, my preference is that De Bruyne is ready for the Premier League, whether it be as a replacement for Marko Marin or we send him like Lukaku to a Premier League side on loan. My preference is that he goes to a team like Everton, with Moyes a great manager or to Swansea, where they play football on the floor.

    - - -

Josh McEachran - CM - Middlesborough - Has played in a two man midfield for Boro, made 23 appearances. Defensive side of his game has immensely improved.

Verdict: LOAN or BACK, I would love to bring McEachran back if Lampard does indeed leave. He could have a breakthrough season, with his new defensive abilities adding to his already great passing range and movement. But I can see him being overlooked and hopefully Middlesborough get promoted so we can keep him there for another year. If he isnt deemed ready by Chelsea, he needs to play Prem football next season. Any promoted side would be a great place for him to prove his obvious credentials.

    - - -

Nathaniel Chalobah - CM - Watford - 18 appearances for the commanding defensive midfielder at Watford under Gianfranco Zola. Scoring two goals. Has extended his loan till the end of the season. Watford are currently in the play-off positions.

Verdict: LOAN or BACK, I think that either McEachran or Chalobah would be in the first team next season. and Chalobah looks like he could be a future Chelsea captain. Zola has been bringing him on well and another loan could be beneficial for all parties. Watford could be a great place for him to continue and hopefully still under Zola. I dont think both Chalobah and McEachran will be out on loan next year.

    - - -

Thibaut Courtois - GK - Atletico Madrid - In his second season on loan at the current Europa League champions, he has been outstanding for them in La Liga as they sit in second in the table, above rivals Real Madrid. The likes of Barcelona have been circling

Verdict: LOAN to West Ham Courtois is a top European keeper, and I think that Petr Cech has one more year in him, so Courtois should come back to London, ply his trade at West Ham and show us that he can do it in the Premier League, I do not want Chelsea selling him. The only other alternative is that Cech is sold for 10m plus and Courtois moves to number one.

    - - -

Michael Essien - CM - Real Madrid - The Bison has been a great servant to the club and he is not the box to box player we once knew.

Verdict: SELL If we can get anything of a decent figure for Essien then great, we have Ramires who now offers the box to box role and although not as strong as Essien, I think Essien wont be playing for us again

    - - -

Thorgan Hazard - LM - Zulte Waregem - The younger brother of Eden has had a great start back in his homeland as his side sit second behind Anderlecht in the league standings. Despite obviously being compared to his brother and also being a wide player. Thorgan has been more at home dropping deep on the left of midfield and using his passing ability to great effect.

Verdict: LOAN - Without doubt he has ability, he could become a star like his brother, we have too many wide player though for him to get in the squad next year. If he continues his progress then maybe a loan agreement with a team in Europe could be done

    - - -

Tomas Kalas - CB or RB - Vitesse Arnhem - Signed for a tidy sum a few years back, Kalas is still very young and is like Courtois enjoying his second season on loan at the same club at Vitesse Arnhem. Has played virtually every game and scored 1 goal. Versatile at right back and center back.

Verdict: BACK - With his versatility to play at right back and center back and with the move of pushing David Luiz into the central midfield role. I think Kalas could have a good year next season as back up to both the positions he has played in. Basically replacing both the departing Paulo Ferreira and the moved David Luiz in our defensive options

    - - -

Patrick Van Aanholt - LB - Vitesse Arnhem - One a few great left backs that the club has on its books, has played nearly every game for one of the big surprise packages in Holland.

Verdict: BACK or LOAN - I will keep this simple, if Ashley Cole leaves and we dont go for Leighton Baines he comes back, but if Cole stays then I would send him on loan to the Eredivisie again

    - - -

Gael Kakuta - LW, RW - Vitesse Arnhem - Has struggled for injury this year but has been getting game time recently and has been deployed mainly on the flanks

Verdict: SELL - With all the trouble he brought us, I dont think he has progressed enough, and we now have Lucas Piazon who is in the same position, younger and in my opinion better, time to cut our losses.

    - - -

Kenneth Omeruo - CB - ADO Den Haag - Featured in all but one league game for the Dutch minnows, but the Nigerian has excelled as the team lie eighth in the Dutch top tier, also set to take part in the African Nations Cup this month with Nigeria.

Verdict: LOAN to Vitesse Arnhem - Makes a lot of sense that we take Kalas back and give him a role in our squad and give Vitesse Arnhem Omeruo instead. Good for us, good for our relationship with Vitesse and good for Omeruo who moves slightly up the league.

    - - -

Jeffrey Bruma - CB - Hamburg - Has been hit with injury problems most of his one and a half year loan spell with Hamburg

Verdict: SELL or LOAN - Dont think we can risk taking him back into the squad, there will be plenty of potential suitors and perhaps another loan spell could do him wonders, hoping he can come through for us, really like the lad, if not then get some cash for him

    - - -

Ulises Davila - ST - FC Sabadell - Has been plying his trade in the lower leagues of Spain after a disappointing spell at Vitesse last year, has been impressive scoring 5 goals in 15 games.

Verdict: LOAN - Not ready yet but for a guy rated highly in Mexico he can maybe make an impact on loan once more and show his talent

So that is my verdict on the guys that will be out on loan, that have played a decent amount of games and what I think should be done when they return in the summer, hope some other can give their views

My view on the notable loaners (while adding a couple of others, and I don't have it in me to go into too much depth this late):

De Bruyne - The fact that De Bruyne is on loan is insulting. Easily on par with Oscar at this stage in his career. Don't know what the club were doing really. I wouldn't hesitate in bringing him back. BACK
McEachran - Give him another year away. Needs to beef up and learn the strength of the Premier League. Maybe try to get him to a newly promoted club next season. LOAN
Chalobah - Looking quality, but like McEachran will need to learn the power of the Premier League. I'd say probably will be quicker to adapt than Josh though. LOAN
Kalas - Bring him back. Very good player, and definitely means we wouldn't need to look for signings in the CB department. BACK
Bruma - It wouldn't be bad keeping him, however, with Ake in the squad I don't see any need. Also don't forget the Musonda's will be in the frame soon enough. LOAN / SELL
Van Aanholt - Better than Bertrand imo. Should bring him back soon. BACK
Wallace - RB - He'll be back next season I'm sure. Looks decent. BACK
Kakuta - What a load of bother for a seemingly failed prospect. Disappointing. SELL
Courtois - Statistically one of the top keepers in Europe, but England is different to Spain. Loan him to a PL club next year, and then when Cech is on the way out (out of contract end of next season I think), bring him in. LOAN
Lukaku - More for his own happiness, I'd say loan again. He won't want to be back until he's the main man, though I'd like him back. LOAN
Thorgan - Haven't seen much of the lad, but I hear he's meant to be more promising than Eden. He's still very young though. Keep him out on loan. LOAN
Davila - Don't see this guy getting near the squad tbh. A knee jerk reaction to Chicarito imo. SELL
Hutchinson - CB - If you want an English back bone to a team, look no further than this boy. Dedication to the last. Shame his knee seems to want to end his career at any chance it gets. I reckon it will hold him back from any chance of fulfilling his potential. Very sad. However, I think he deserves a chance. LOAN / BACK
Kane - RB - Looked very good in reserve games, and is the under 21 captain. The arrival of Wallace and Azpi implies that he has no future sadly, though I'd love to see him back... Realistically SELL, heart says BACK
Essien - What a player he was, but his knees wont survive the PL. SELL

    - Edit - I don't know a lot about that Omeruo guy, but I like your logic.

Thanks for the reply and I guess for a lot of them we are on the same wavelength. Wallace I completely forgot about

But Omeruo has been on loan at Den Haag and most will know they dont do well usually over in Holland, usually scrapping for relegation, but they are up in eighth. Vitesse and Chelseas partnership is certainly a good one

Hutchison I left off because he hasnt been getting many games since he got injured again, its heartbreaking to see a guy who has so much potential unable to be where he can get to

We seem to have about 6 decent right backs but none have yet to break the barrier yet

    Great summary.

As mooted above, we should be looking next year to introduce at least one of Josh or Chalobah into our midfield squad. I'd bring Courtois back too, to fight for the jersey. I'm not at all convinced with our current back ups in goal and Courtois is already looking a great keeper. Van Aarnholt to come back if Cole leaves (and we don't sign a replacement).

Strikers wise I'd be happy to bring back Lukaku but if we sign Ba and then another in the summer I'd be happy for him to spend another year with West Brom.

De Bruyne needs to come back as well next year, especially if Marin's injury problems continue.

Given the additions of Ba and Wallace of late, plus some of the loanees, can't see us really needing to buy much in the summer.

Apparently Chalobah was superb against Man City this afternoon.

Anyway, out of the current players we have loaned out i think Essien will leave end of this season. I think Bruma will leave eventually too along with Davila and Kakuta.

Chalobah, Courtois, De Bruyne & Lukaku will most certainly be in our first team in the near future, some before others. McEachran needs another loan season but it'd be nice if we could get him at a Premiership side. I know Kalas is very highly rated but i'll be honest i've never seen him play, same with Hazard & Omeruo too!

Some good replies in here guys

With T Hazard, Omeruo and Kalas, I too haven't seen them play but read up a bit on them at their clubs and they are all integral to their teams who are playing well above their expectations
