Is there a 'pundit' out there who has yet to have condemned us to the abyss? Is there an 'expert' who's expressed even the slightest doubt? With 7 games to go, they all seem unconvinced by our recent resurgence and to a man have us down for a miserable P19 finish. Interesting that these paid thinkers ('thinkers'?!) are all so sure. Not just because they appear to have missed the final pieces in the Hughes plan slotting neatly into place (defensive solidarity, midfield dexterity, teeth AND applied game plan); but also the albeit involuntary contribution of other clubs to our cause. Today, whether they like it or not, these improbable Rs will be our mates from Liverpool and West Brom AND our near neighbours Fulham and Chelsea! Let's use this thread to show our appreciation for their efforts on our behalf and chart their progress throughout the course of this momentous day!!
Supporting Chelsea is difficult at any time for me. I'll just hope for Spurs and Arsenal wins too so they don't gain any ground.
Watching the Soton-Pompey game. Think I've found myself a keeper I'd like us to bring to Loftus Road. Jamie Ashdown, quite simply outstanding performance.
Beyond the obvious ironies involved, these four clubs will all be wearing (invisible) hoops today! Four wins (and by the biggest possible margins) and our trip to OT becomes less significant.
Come on Chelsea!! There....that was easy! I see Terry, Cole and Lampard aren't playing. Fulham have some regulars out too.
