Bobby had a trial run vs City and had a little slide to the knees with arms aloft after minimum contact. I'm going for an early one Bobby in the 8th minute.
Interesting. I think you'll be 2-0 up, they'll get one back against the run of play and then you'll get the penalty within a few minutes.
Fair prediction. Think Liverpool will come up short considerably this season due to zero transfers, If you finish second then surely you need to invest to finish above them? Fresh faces and all that as well. Spurs a genuine threat for second.
Not bringing in even a first team squad member is a bit weird. Players need competition for places, and to see a club building from a position of strength. You’ll still be right up there like, but I think you’ve missed an opportunity to push on.
It is odd. Doesn't appear to have been too much effort to get anyone either. Even clubs winning the league bring in new faces for the reasons you mentioned. I can see Liverpool being a good 10 points off City. Bit pessimistic maybe but that's my gut feeling. Everton on the other hand I can see competing for 5th with Arsenal and Chelsea.
Klopp has mentioned a few times that the long term injuries we have back are like new signings, my problem with that is that every season your squad will pick up injuries so you're in the same situation. Anyway he seems to know what he's doing so I'm happy enough.
Every team has injuries every season. The 'like new signings' line is an insult to fans intelligence tbh. They're not like new signings as they're not new signings!! We just have to accept our big shopping was done last summer and we're not like Man Utd and Man City that can continuously spend 100mil+ per window. It was always going to be a tough window coming off the CL win... but no question we've missed an opportunity here. I suspect we'll need cover by January and get someone in.
The use of VAR is going to make predictions tricky. Will it be used to cut out and punish ‘Pool’s incessant cheating inside and around the box? Or will it be used by biased refs to justify their need to award penalties?
Agreed. If there is a poor start then questions will rightfully be asked. Also hope the players don't use it as an excuse to slacken off although that's probably unlikely.
